Anyone else feeling completely zapped of energy? Im sleeping terrible & have no appetite.
I am only 5 weeks 😱

Whoamieven · 06/03/2020 14:25

@HarrietM87
My first was 3 hours from being asleep to baby. My second was totally different and over 10 hours, so you may be ok!

Emelene · 06/03/2020 14:27

@HarrietM87 - definitely worth discussing a homebirth. There's data saying it's safer than hospital for second time mums (birth place study).

I had a homebirth with my first and it was absolutely brilliant. I'm hoping for another!

HarrietM87 · 06/03/2020 14:31

@Whoamieven that’s good! Was there a reason for it being slower second time? Was he or she back to back or something? Did they encourage you to have a home birth? I guess it might make sense to plan for a home birth but go in if possible, rather than assume you’ll go in and end up having an unplanned home birth!

SJ1989 · 06/03/2020 14:53

I would love a home birth but im classed as high risk so no chance

Anon87 · 06/03/2020 15:57

It's never crossed my mind for a home birth. Like my first, I only want gas & air max but again like DD if another emergency is needed then I'm just in the right place.

Wmma · 06/03/2020 16:05

I'm 5weeks +5 pregnant today started having bad cramps today, feels exactly like period cramps. Is this normal anyone else having this?

ParisInTheSpringtime · 06/03/2020 16:39

I’ve asked for a home birth at this stage. No idea if I will be high risk or not to be honest.

ohiwishyouwerehere · 06/03/2020 17:15

@wmma I'm 5+3 (I think!) and I've just started with some today...hoping it's more trapped wind 🙈

LxGx · 06/03/2020 17:35

@wmma i'm 5+5 aswell and having cramps more so at night. It's not every day but sometimes can be quite bad like period cramps. Hoping it's normal too.

LJxo · 06/03/2020 17:51

@Wmma Also experiencing cramp, I’m 5+2. Hope it’s reassuring to hear others are experiencing it too at around similar stage. Is anyone getting mild lower back pain?

Wmma · 06/03/2020 18:39

Thanks ladies this is very reassuring to hear!! Yes Iv started having lower back ache too! Hopefully again this is normal. Anyone else feeling angry all the time.. or is it just me??Hmm

Anon87 · 06/03/2020 18:45

@Wmma I'm not finding myself angry but my patience has become rather thin.
Oh and if someone says something twice.... I need to walk off 😂

Hi everyone,

Thought I would join this thread, as I am 5 weeks today. Incredibly nervous, as I can see a lot of you are. This is my second pregnancy. Last one ended with a MMC this time last year. Trying to keep positive, and not over analyse. Reading your comments helps as I know I'm not alone! Xx

SqidgeBum · 06/03/2020 19:01

I would love a home birth but my last one was a bit dramatic; 52 hours, ended in episiotomy and vontouse. 100% not what I had in mind. I dont think I would be allowed have a home birth next time, although I think the reason it went so badly is because I was exactly where I didnt want to be - in a hospital lying on a bed. I wanted a water birth in a MLU but because my last baby went quiet 3 times over the pregnancy they wouldn't allow me (even though it was only through a set of doors off the hospital). I am determined to do things differently this time. No running into the hospital early. No panic. I am determined to have more control.

LexieBB · 06/03/2020 19:07

@CocoW 5 weeks 5 days and have been feeling completely wiped since week 4. I feel like such a pansy for complaining this early in but this is nuts.

It’s not just wanting to sleep more; my body actually feels tired...like I’m moving in quicksand. Similar to how I feel when I’m sick. Really hope this goes away soon. My gyn told me to try drinking water with a little pink Himalayan salt and lemon juice.

LexieBB · 06/03/2020 19:09

I’ve read that cramping at this stage is normal and due to uterus expanding! I have it too but it’s backed off a bit this week.

SJ1989 · 06/03/2020 19:20

@LexieBB guessing we are due date buddies as I'm 5+5 so 1st November

I'm shattered and also getting the body feeling weighed down feeling but I guess its tiredness

EssentialHummus · 06/03/2020 19:22

sqidge I was at home until fully dilated, fully comfortable etc - and then things slowed down/stalled when I went in (not least because I went in at staff handover time!). I reckon I’m a good candidate for a HB, will see what the midwives say.

Bootsray · 06/03/2020 19:24

Hi ladies, I'm 5w 5d with 3rd pregnancy, EDD 2nd Nov. Currently quietly excited and super nervous too as my last pregnancy 4 years ago was a MMC. I have 11 year old twins. It's good to hear everyone's stories! I'm going on holiday in 3 weeks, unsure about going abroad so soon after finding out... we've been TTC for about 6 years! Had a few symptoms, my pregnancy tests didn't get a strong positive until about 18dpo so off to docs next week, fingers crossed for us all. x

LexieBB · 06/03/2020 20:02

@SJ1989 I guess so! My gyn also gave me a due date range yesterday of 10/12-11/17! I’m soo hoping for an October baby if all be well of course. ☺️

eleanorsos · 06/03/2020 20:16

Anyone else already bored of all the foods we can't have? Like camembert and red wine is what I live for hahaha

Worth it of course for a healthy baby but I can tell it's going to be a long 8 months! 😂

SJ1989 · 06/03/2020 20:25

@LexieBB november suits me we don't have any november birthdays in the family but I'm high risk for preterm labour so every chance of october

SqidgeBum · 06/03/2020 20:26

@eleanorsos I basically ignored all those 'can't eat' foods when I was pregnant before (except the wine). Once the camembert is very well cooked through it's fine.
