@LadyParsnip ❤️ thank you, so anxious x

JM0934 · 06/03/2020 10:05

Hello ladies, can I join in please! Smile

Firstly congratulations to all of you!! Flowers

I've just got my BFP yesterday morning.. which I still can't believe it! I did 4 tests to just make sure and they were all positive.

According to the app, I'm due on the 10th of November!

This is my first pregnancy so I'm very worried about it already! I have NO symptoms at all! Apart from my period is officially late. I've had a bit of brown spotting last week, and a tiny bit of it today so I'm worried it could be a chemical pregnancy?

Is it normal to not feel anything at 4 weeks? I have a bit of cramping every now then (feels like something is pulling inside).

I tried to book an appointment with the GP but the reception told me if I had already done a test a home and it's positive then I can refer myself to the local maternity hospital so I have done that and waiting for a midwife to call me in the next 10 working days.

This is a photo of 3 of my tests from yesterday. Should I carry on testing??

I'm happy but worried at the same time! Confused

@JM0934 congrats and welcome x

NoseringGirl · 06/03/2020 10:36

@JM0934 congratulations! I didn't really have a lot of symptoms in my first pregnancy at that point. Those tests look good though! I know it's hard not to worry (I'm constantly worrying at the moment) but lack of symptoms at this point isn't unusual!
I remember my mother in law telling me when I was 5 weeks in my first pregnancy that if I didn't have morning sickness then, I wouldn't get it at all. A couple of weeks later I was feeling so sick!

eleanorsos · 06/03/2020 10:44

@JM0934 Congrats! I'm due same week as you I think Smile so hard not to worry isn't it! I've done three tests too haha. Guess we just have to wait and hope.... I think I'm going to stop testing, I'm driving myself crazy!!

JM0934 · 06/03/2020 10:47

@wannabebump Thank you! congrats to you too! Smile

JM0934 · 06/03/2020 10:50

@NoseringGirl Thank you! It's good to know that other people have went through the same. I'm just preparing myself for the worst I guess. I just want to feel something already lol, it doesn't feel real until I can feel it.

JM0934 · 06/03/2020 10:52

@eleanorsos thank you! congrats to you too! due date buddies!! Is this your first pregnancy? I think it's still very early days so we just assume the worst would happen. Do you have symptoms at all? I'm considering of getting a private scan so that I know I am definitely pregnant!

eleanorsos · 06/03/2020 11:01

@JM0934 Yes it's our first, we're still getting over the shock haha! We made the mistake of telling MIL and she's so ecstatic she has told almost everyone she knows Confused

Not many symptoms, just a smidge of nausea but otherwise normal! I've thought about an early scan too but also kind of scared in case it's all in my mind.... let us know if you get the scan, would love to hear how it goes Smile

rachelrainbow · 06/03/2020 11:03

Hi all! Welcome to all the lovely newcomers. I’m due Nov 2nd- i’m currently 5w4. I had some horrible pain on my left side and an upset tummy yesterday. Immediately went into panic mode and visited the EPU this morning. I was lucky to get scanned pretty quickly. Everything is in the right place- which is such a relief. The nurse said it was too early for a heartbeat but she found a 14mm gestational sac, 3.3mm yolk sac and a tiny 1.4 mm fetal pole with an inconclusive flicker. She’s booked me in to return in 2 weeks 🤞🤞🤞🤞. I don’t know how I’ll cope with the wait!

spence93 · 06/03/2020 11:07

Hi, I'm due 18/11. Has anyone else had really bright blue veins around their boobs and nipples this early on?. Mine have popped up this morning and they've become really sore and swollen overnight. Can't find too much on the internet about it

JM0934 · 06/03/2020 11:11

@eleanorsos same as us! It still doesn't feel real yet. I still sometimes forget that we are expecting a baby! It feels so weird!! Oh no, that's what we are scared of so far, we've only told my parents. my mother in law lives aboard so it's easier to keep it as a secret from her atm!

I will let you know if we decide to do a private scan, don't think I can get one until I'm 6 weeks anyway :)

Louise24902 · 06/03/2020 11:13

@SJ1989 I got a solid smiley on CB ovulation test on the 11th of Feb so about 3 and a half weeks ago so thought the CB would have changed to 2-3 x

HarrietM87 · 06/03/2020 11:21

@Louise24902 those digis aren’t very accurate and there is a massive range of normal hcg levels at this stage. Maybe book in a private scan for 2 weeks time and that will give you reassurance? (Any sooner than that may be too soon to be conclusive if you ovulated and/or implanted later than you thought).

NoseringGirl · 06/03/2020 11:57

@Louise24902 there's places that they won't sell them (like America) and I think it's because of the stress these weeks indicators can cause. I've had a lecture off a pharmacist before when buying one about how inaccurate they are and that hcg levels can vary a lot between women. There are so many factors that can effect how much hcg is in any particular urine sample.

Anon87 · 06/03/2020 12:54

I couldn't help myself and I'm enjoying seeing the lines get stronger.
A One Step test now shows up well within it's time frame (at 3 days late 🙄)

Only one more Frer to get rid of (next week) and I'll be kicking the habit 😂

ACatCalledLola · 06/03/2020 12:55

@Louise24902 I had a panic yesterday because the test I took was lighter than the one from two days earlier. Both Waitrose ones So I thought they would be consistent. The one at the hospital a couple of hours later was really dark again. The nurse wasn’t concerned at all and just said that some tests can vary. I’m going to stop testing now. It’s giving me massive anxiety!

LJxo · 06/03/2020 13:06

I took a FRER last Sunday which was much darker 4 days after my first bfp also on FRER. Did a wilko cheap one and it was lighter but I suppose totally different test and the wilko ones are extremely cheap. Hope everyone is doing ok, the anxiety really is real. X

Louise24902 · 06/03/2020 13:24

@NoseringGirl @HarrietM87 that is very true, thank you for the reassurance! I had one left so decided to try but wish I hadn't bothered now🤦‍♀️

I have a scan tomorrow anyway so fingers crossed! X

Louise24902 · 06/03/2020 13:28

@ACatCalledLola ah really? That has relaxed me a wee bit then! I have a scan tomorrow morning so even though it won't show much hopefully my mind will be put at ease, just doesn't feel real after waiting so long, don't want to lose it!

EssentialHummus · 06/03/2020 13:36

Booking in appt here - all ok, just took ages! Anyone else thinking about a homebirth? DD was born in a MLU but I'm leaning towards having this one at home if I can.

NoseringGirl · 06/03/2020 13:43

@EssentialHummus I'd love a home birth! I've had two hospital births and I really think I'd be more relaxed at home rather than trekking up to the hospital.

PatchworkPals · 06/03/2020 13:58

I’m definitely thinking about a home birth I hated being left in the hospital last time.

LynseyLou1982 · 06/03/2020 14:09

I need help to break the testing habit. I have a box full of used tests and I've just bought some more digital ones because when I got my BFP it said 2-3 weeks and I wanted to check it had changed to 3+. It has but I'm still peeing on sticks so I can make sure the line is still as dark. I need to step away from Dr Google as well. 2 weeks on Thursday to my booking in appointment and 4 weeks on Monday till my early private scan. I just want to see a little heartbeat and I can relax a bit then.

HarrietM87 · 06/03/2020 14:18

@EssentialHummus I was told after my son that I’d probably have to have a home birth with a second as my labour was so fast. First time was under 3 hours from first twinge to birth so it’s likely to be a lot faster next time 😱 tbh I liked the security of hospital in case anything went wrong so not overly pleased about it. Will have to discuss it properly this time.
