Sorry that is meant to say transvaginal scan - no idea why it auto corrected to Adam!!!

HarrietM87 · 05/03/2020 22:25

@Ljxo at 9/10 weeks you’d likely see something on an abdominal scan, at 5/6 weeks it would likely need to be internal, 7/8 is prob borderline (depending on your size which can have an impact). You’d certainly get a better view with an internal scan at 7/8 weeks.

Does that put you off? I’ve had so many over the years I literally think nothing of them now.

LJxo · 05/03/2020 22:29

Hi @HarrietM87 thanks for the advice, I’m happy to have the internal as would like to get the best possible view. This is my first pregnancy and I wasn’t aware of internal scanning!

HarrietM87 · 05/03/2020 22:37

Yes @LJxo it can be a bit unnerving when you see them put a condom on the probe! 🤣 but it doesn’t hurt at all and will mean you get a better look at the baby.

ohmysense · 05/03/2020 23:56

Can I join please? Randomly decided to test tonight (AF due tomorrow) and got a faint positive! The NHS calculator gives a due date around Nov 14.
1st baby, 1st month of properly trying (came off contraception in early January), so this is all a bit of a shock really. I was totally preparing DH that it will probably take us at least a few months...
Now I'm torn between starting to book appointments etc. vs giving it a few more days to process the news and see if it sticks.
Not many symptoms yet - had some period-like back pains around a week ago and this week water and tea started tasting salty but I thought something must wrong with the pipes Grin

ohiwishyouwerehere · 06/03/2020 01:34

How's everybody feeling?

My new "symptom" is being fast asleep before 9pm but waking up daily at 4-4.30am.

Hoping that will go soon!

I'm going to try to go back to exercise this week too, I've not done any for a few weeks as I was getting my head around this and felt too scared too, is that silly?? It's not helping that I'm currently so bloated I feel like I'm waddling already.

Been told this week I've got the next 4 weeks off work due to the spread of CV (I'm in another country) so hoping to get back on track there.

Hope everyone is ok!

SJ1989 · 06/03/2020 05:38

Told my mum and in laws last night who were all made up :)

Re weight gain I'm worried I'm about 2 stone heavier than I was when I got pregnant with my daughter and get married in august 2021 so baby will be about 9 months

EssentialHummus · 06/03/2020 06:21

I’m the same ohi - up like clockwork at 2/4. Gah.

Monday55 · 06/03/2020 06:32

@eleanorsos & @ACatCalledLola thank you and congratulations to you!. I ended up planting the bfp stick but not before I went to buy the digital one as I knew he'd be confused about the strips too lol. He was over the moon, he couldn't stop smiling.

I currently have no symptoms at all. Sorry you're already having the worst of it @ACatCalledLola

60sPony · 06/03/2020 06:57

I woke up feeling a little queasy this morning it’s almost like a very mild hangover type feeling.
I’m not normally a big worrier but have to say I’m becoming a bit unnerved now about corona virus whilst pregnant as it is just so unknown. Someone posted something on Instagram the other day which I think was meant to be calming for pregnant people but it actually made me feel worse.

Louise24902 · 06/03/2020 07:01

Just a little question for anyone who's had similar - I took a CB digital last Thursday and it said pregnant 1-2 weeks, took another one this morning, so 8 days later, and it still says pregnant 1-2 weeks, should I be worried that it hasn't went up to 2-3? Has anybody else had similar?

I've been so anxious about this pregnancy, we've been trying for a year and a half so was over the moon to finally get a positive digital. I'm 6+2 today so just thought it should have been higher!

I've booked an early scan but I'm so nervous now that this should have changed!

Thanks

wannabebump · 06/03/2020 07:09

@SJ1989 can't wait to tell our parents, it's still a big secret at the moment, we haven't told anyone. Waiting until first scan at 8 weeks (due to previous ectopic) before telling them x

SJ1989 · 06/03/2020 07:10

@Louise24902 could you of ovulated late so potentially not be as far as your thinking?

ACatCalledLola · 06/03/2020 07:13

@LJxo I had a private one at 8 weeks with both of mine and it was abdominal. They could see the baby and a heart beat very clearly. I guess it depends on the sensitivity of the equipment.

Sakura54 · 06/03/2020 08:32

@SJ1989 aw it’s nice sharing the news isn’t it! I’ve told my family too. I visit them often and we’re all aware of MC, but no matter what happens, I would tell them either way. DM has been waiting for one of us to give her more grandkids!

wannabebump · 06/03/2020 08:34

I thought I was kind of relaxing a bit as I was feeling more sick etc, Brown discharge this morning so anxiety is back through the roof as I'm only 5 weeks 😥

carrot88 · 06/03/2020 08:43

What is with the no sleep thing?! I normally sleep so well but now from about 4am I can't get comfy, I'm too warm, too cold - arghhh!!! So so tired!!

ohiwishyouwerehere · 06/03/2020 08:45

@carrot88 @EssentailHummus ooo glad it's not just me! It's blooming exhausting!!

LadyParsnip · 06/03/2020 08:49

@

LadyParsnip · 06/03/2020 08:51

@wannabebump I had that in my first pregnancy and was totally anxious but it just stopped and was nothing. Remember brown is old blood so please try not to worry. xxx hugs xxx

LadyParsnip · 06/03/2020 08:53

I'm so bloated it's not even funny. I've already got maternity jeans and have just driven to work with my trousers undone. All my clothes are normally very tailored and fitted so I swear people are going to know before I can help it! 😱

LJxo · 06/03/2020 09:05

@ACatCalledLola wow that’s good! I may speak to them and see what they recommend. I just can’t wait to see a heartbeat.

@LadyParsnip I’m bloated too, I’m normally a high waist jeans person but I’ve had to unbutton mine too. Stood at the train station with my unbuttoned jeans trying not to be sick!!Confused

NoseringGirl · 06/03/2020 09:10

Hello! Mind if I join please? Not sure I'm going to be able to catch up on the whole thread though Grin
I'm due around 15/11 after trying for 2 years for baby #3. I've had 3 very early losses in that time so I'm nervous but very excited!

Sulkypatsy · 06/03/2020 09:29

@NoseringGirl.

I just had to say congratulations, I remember you from the yammers thread, I was lilzpk but name changed. So glad for your lovely news.

NoseringGirl · 06/03/2020 09:55
