@BabyKnighty1 - its starting to feel real today! We are getting so excited too. Hows you DH feeling about it? Were you trying for long?

@eleanorsos - I don't know what to do either! I guess we wait for our scans?

I don't have any symptoms except a little cramps, extra hungry and a positive test.

@carrot88 thats lovely about your holiday. When are you planning on telling family?

carrot88 · 05/03/2020 17:13

@ChasingTheSunshineAlways telling parents after our 12 week scan is the plan at the moment - mostly because I don't really think either of us still believe it at the minute! And we're also cautious as I'm a bit older and it's our first....

Only problem is how to tell them all at the same time (or very close together at least) - I'd prefer to tell them all in person that they're going to be grandparents but we've got three sets of parents (DH's parents are divorced and both remarried) but we and my parents are in Yorkshire, we've got one set in Portugal and one near the Forest of Dean!! Logistical nightmare!! Hmm

HarrietM87 · 05/03/2020 17:16

@ACatCalledLola that’s a great outcome for such an early scan! Could just be your urine was more dilute for the second test.

My tests at 10 and 11dpo (last fri and sat) looked similar so I convinced myself it was a chemical, then tested again Monday and had a great line. The relief lasted for about a day and now panicking again! I’m only 4 weeks today but think I’ll do a clear blue digi next week and see if it shows 3+ weeks.

I’ve had lots of early losses so having a scan in a couple of weeks anyway.

Lorenzo3000 · 05/03/2020 17:48

Yes, I'm cold too! I'm 5 weeks on Friday.
Is anyone worried about their weight and weight gain? I'm a size 16, 5"8, and tipping to 14.10st 😯 I'm trying to be good but I'm soooooo hungry.

TinnedPearsForPudding · 05/03/2020 17:58

I'm so tired...only 4-5 weeks though. Wasn't working today so treated myself to an afternoon nap (proper sleep in bed). Already looking forward to bedtime

wannabebump · 05/03/2020 18:07

@Lorenzo3000 I'm worried about weight too! I lost 3 stone a couple of years ago and I reckon I'll be putting a good chunk of that back on if the bloating so far is anything to go by Smile

BabyKnighty1 · 05/03/2020 18:18

@ChasingTheSunshineAlways it’s a cool feeling isn’t it! I’ve tested again today and got a very strong line 😊 Got a 1-2 weeks on CB digital 2 days ago so I’m freaking out a little bit that I could be having twins as we have a strong family history of them. DH is pretty causal about it, I think it will feel more real for him when we go for our scan. Wbu?

BabyKnighty1 · 05/03/2020 18:22

@ChasingTheSunshineAlways sorry, have been trying for 2 months so not to long , feeling pretty lucky! How about you?

Sakura54 · 05/03/2020 18:59

For my 1st, I put on 1 stone and had a tiny bump. Eating for 2 is a myth.. you are only supposed to eat slightly more in the 3rd trimester. In saying that, I have been hungrier...lol.

eleanorsos · 05/03/2020 19:41

@ChasingTheSunshineAlways I guess so! I called GP today who was thoroughly uninterested and told me to self refer haha, so waiting for a call back from the hospital for a booking appt. It all seems so alien and sure they are bored of first time mums thinking they are the first to ever have a child..... Grin

I haven't had many symptoms either, just constant baseline nausea, but the tests are positive so just have to assume it's fine!!

Have you got a scan booked? x

SqidgeBum · 05/03/2020 19:56

Same for me weight wise @Sakura54. I ate the same as I normally would (I did eat more but I just made sure it was my normal healthy meals, like some leftover home cooked dinner for lunch). I ate like I normally would diet wise (mostly slimming world recipes). I put on 1st 7lb and dropped 1 st 3lbs by just giving birth. I am hoping to do the same this time around and not gain any significant weight. The last thing I want is to have to sort a whole new wardrobe or be on slimming world again.

SqidgeBum · 05/03/2020 19:58

Has anyone been suffering with hip or leg pain? I am walking like an old woman. No idea why. My right hip is so sore! Trying to figure out if its pregnancy related or just me being unfit Hmm

Emelene · 05/03/2020 20:06

@beesly - nice to see a familiar face! Is anyone else expecting number 2?

SqidgeBum · 05/03/2020 20:13

@Emelene me!!

EssentialHummus · 05/03/2020 20:21

Me too em and sqidge - DD is 2.5. I asked her today whether she wanted a little brother or sister and she very firmly said "No!". Whoops. She is very interested in her little friends' new siblings though .

Sakura54 · 05/03/2020 20:22

@Emelene my DS is 2.7

ChasingTheSunshineAlways · 05/03/2020 20:26

@BabyKnighty1 month 1 for us. I'm pretty sure I thought that was a myth and no one actually got pregnant that quickly. Everyone else we know has been trying for ages.

@carrot88 we are the same! family all over the place and we want to tell some in person. My parents we'll have to tell over the phone as we won't see them for a while. But I'm going to tell both sets of parents and siblings after my first proper medical test in early April

SqidgeBum · 05/03/2020 20:34

My DD is 15 months. I must say this baby was a bit of a surprise. I was told I have uterine polyps so conception would be difficult so we decided to not be so careful contraception wise thinking we could have a year or 2 of ttc. 3 weeks later I got my bfp Confused it's been a bit of a shock to adjust to. I hadn't planned on having two this close together.

HarrietM87 · 05/03/2020 20:42

Baby 2 for me too! My son is 22 months so will be 2.5 when this one is born, pretty much exactly what we hoped for so hope it works out!

PatchworkPals · 05/03/2020 20:44

I’ve just found a lump in my breast. I’m going to call the drs tomorrow but can anyone reassure me that it’s probably some weird pregnancy symptom?

EssentialHummus · 05/03/2020 21:24

It may well be pals, given all the hormonal changes and changes to breast tissue in pregnancy, but absolutely book in with your GP to put your mind at rest.

Oldermum80 · 05/03/2020 21:29

@PatchworkPals me too. I was thinking it was related but had it last month too although I had a chemical pregnancy then. Mine seems quite big and painful but less obvious today so maybe nothing.

wafflewafflewaffle · 05/03/2020 21:43

@Lorenzo3000 I’m worried about weight too. I put loads on in my first pregnancy, then lost it all and more while breastfeeding and going for lovely long walks with the buggy on mat leave, then put it all and more back on again when I went back to work and was sitting at a desk all day! So I’m starting pregnancy from about a stone and a half heavier than I was last time round (I’m 5’9 and 13 stone so overweight by BMI) and hoping to keep weight gain to 15-20lbs max.

I’ve booked a private scan for 28th March when I’ll be 8 weeks, it feels like forever to wait especially as I’ve still not really got any real symptoms.

Livi735 · 05/03/2020 21:44

Hello!

I’m due Nov 6th and terribly anxious about making it to 12 weeks! Not sure why as never suffered from a MC, but just hyper aware of potential issues. Fingers crossed!

LJxo · 05/03/2020 22:19

I’ve booked a private scan in for when I hit 8 weeks and have noticed the company doing this perform a transvaginal adam if under 10 weeks as recommended by NHS according to their email. Is this what others having an early scan have been told???
