Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

Welcome @poppetmoran! Sounds pretty typical so far, it's the bloating that's the worst for me at the moment. The first trimester drags but it goes quickly after that!

@StephyRose I'm six weeks today, due 20th Oct.

1990shopefulftm · 25/02/2020 18:15

@poppetmoran
this is my first pregnancy too, i m due on the 30th of october. I've been getting bloating and a very small amount of cramps and a strange sore throat and very thirsty so been in baggy hoodies since the weekend a lot of the time.

I've been a tiny bit anxious but what will happen happens we can't really control it.

@Mc3209 olives and brine 😁 love it. I hear you on the coffee front. I normally have one big strong cup of tea in the morning and today I just couldn't. Bizarre!

Mc3209 · 25/02/2020 18:50

@1990shopefulftm, I am very thirsty too! Cramps are gone today (which I hope is a good thing?!)

1990shopefulftm · 25/02/2020 18:57

@Mc3209, i m sure it's not a bad thing :)

tulip2020 · 25/02/2020 18:57

@1990shopefulftm I'm also super thirsty! And even when I've had loads of water my pee still looks dehydrated Confused

@Mc3209 @KitKatKit I'm totally the same, usually love tea but have really gone off it, and the same with alcohol, I actually had to get DH to hide it as the sight was knocking me sick haha! Crazy what our bodies can do!

QuietInteresting · 25/02/2020 19:38

Hi ladies can I join? I got my BFP on Saturday and looks like my due date is the 28th of October.

poppetmoran · 25/02/2020 19:43

@flora20
Thank you! Yeah I'm just desperate to get my scan and be told everything is as it should be... I'm a nervous wreck lol! Hopefully it goes in quick!

@1990shopefulftm
Yeah I've been thirstier than normal too! Never thought about it as a symptom though til you said...
yeah I know - what will be will be - I need to keep telling myself that!
I have been off my pill since September and been trying since then so it is planned but can't believe how shocked I was... lol
Is it normal to just not feel like it's real yet??

roarfeckingroar · 25/02/2020 19:44

@tulip2020 @KitKatKit I get you about just not wanting things. I've no interest in coffee or alcohol and I'm usually an absolute booze hound. I don't want cheese although it's my favourite thing. I don't have a sweet touch but just polished off 5 pancakes!

Heading to hot yoga in a bit - that's still ok right? I found out sushi is fine to eat today which is also awesome.

I've done about six cheap tests, all with progressing thickness of lines, but I can't bring myself to do the clear blue one because I would be half relieved and half devastated if it turns out I'm not.

Ktn35 · 25/02/2020 20:15

Hi! Sorry loads of you are feeling anxious. I feel you. I had it so so badly last time but I don't have it at all this time (or it hasn't set in yet!) I did so many tests and had an early scan. Nothing made me feel better until I was much further on 😩 xxx

1990shopefulftm · 25/02/2020 20:28

@tulip2020 @poppetmoran i've been wondering if it's because your blood volume gradually increases so you end up more thirsty.

OP posts:
1990shopefulftm · 25/02/2020 20:31

@roarfeckingroar if you've had six positives then a clearblue should show up i m sure.
i did 3 cheap ones and a clearblue because i couldn't believe it, we were lucky and i got pregnant in 3 months so didnt think it could be real.

@1990shopefulftm we weren't actively trying, it's a surprise, but it's a good one although a scary one. DP is a billion times calmer than I am! But he's an angel.

Hello all, can I join in?

We got a bfp on Thursday and then confirmed it on Friday with a CB which said 1-2 weeks. According to NHS's website the due date is 31st October. I'm 31 ( for a little bit longer at least Smile) and we be been trying since about April last year.

I haven't had any real symptoms except for some sore boobs about a week before we found out. I've been very cautious though and have been symptom spotting since we found out.

Sending a lot of healthy baby dust to all of us!!!

bytheThames · 26/02/2020 06:12

Hi all. can I please join ? 🙋🏻‍♀️. due 29th Oct according to the NHS calculator. this is our first, & getting freaked out about everything. Generally cramps, sore breasts, night sweats and waking up at 4am. From Reading everyone’s messages these all seem normal. Can I ask how do I get a midwifes appointment?
the earliest GP appointment I could get in my area was mid- March.

  • eek!
Frankincense88 · 26/02/2020 06:33

@bytheThames Ahhh another member of the 4am wide awake club! I just rang my GP surgery and said I wanted to make a midwife booking appointment and they asked when I'd be 8 weeks and booked me in.

Cramps seem to have subsided for now which is good. No nausea (let's hope that stays away.)

Has everyone had / booked a flu jab? Not sure when to get it done?

Gupster · 26/02/2020 06:57

Hi ladies, please can I join, I am 37 and going by the NHS calculator I'm due 29th October, this is my first and to be quite honest I'm terrified. I had cramps and pulling and weird feelings in my abdomen and felt nauseous for a few days before and after I found out I was pregnant, and the yesterday I had no symptoms at all which has been worrying me, I've had no sharp cramps or passed any blood, so I'm hoping and praying it's just "normal", I did read that the symptoms can come and go in the first trimester. We have booked an early private viability scan for 22nd march, at which point I should be 8w 2d, but that feels like an eternity away.
Has anyone else experienced losing their symptoms?

Flora20 · 26/02/2020 07:13

@Gupster Welcome and congratulations! It's pretty normal to have symptoms come and go, with my first I had nothing but a bit of nausea for 2 or 3 weeks and then didn't feel pregnant at all until I started to get a bump around 20 weeks. This time I've had some cramping and tiredness but nothing else so far.

@Frankincense88 I wasn't sure if flu jabs would be offered when flu season is on its way out but I guess there's still some winter left 😬 once your GP is told you're pregnant by the midwives it should be organised, or at least it was for me last time!

bytheThames · 26/02/2020 07:30

@Frankincense88 thanks for the reassurance. Found the number to the local midwife team so will give them a ring at lunchtime. Perks of being up since 4am 🙈.

My DH and I are staying with my parents for a few months while our house is renovated. Wondering how to keep the secret from my mother?!

Gupster · 26/02/2020 07:31

@Flora20 thank you for your response, that makes me feel better. We have an early viability scan booked privately for 22nd march, at which point I should be 8w 2d ish, so just need to keep my sanity until then. I'm so glad I found this group and have people to talk to that are in the same situation x

Mc3209 · 26/02/2020 07:44

@Gupster I am right there with you on variable symptom front! Bloated and (excuse TMI) pooping rocks - bad. Normalised somewhat - terrified something is wrong. Nausea got better - even more terrified. Cramps gone - what does that mean?!
But still can't sleep properly and still off coffee, and bloating is back (which somehow makes me happy 😜)

Gupster · 26/02/2020 07:48

@m3209 I know it's crazy, I think I'd rather have the nauseous feeling just so I feel pregnant!

sunbreak · 26/02/2020 10:05

@bytheThames , how did you get the appointment? I called my GP and was told that I need to self refer through NHS. And when I did the form was told that I'll get a scan appointment when I'm around 11 weeks. It's our first so we have no clue how all of this works.

roarfeckingroar · 26/02/2020 10:10

Welcome everyone!!!

ablisha · 26/02/2020 10:35

I really can't shake my fear of it all going wrong. I know I should be so happy and I am so grateful but I just can't shake it.

Last week before my BPF my HR on my Fitbit was so high and now I see it dropping slightly, I've become an even bigger worrier! 🤦🏼‍♀️
