Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

Can I join please? I am 4+2 today, due 31st October. Baby #1, so all very new!
@Frankincense88 I was thinking about an early scan, however it's probably better to leave it until 8 weeks (to make sure there is a heartbeat and it's not too early).

Frankincense88 · 24/02/2020 16:43

@Mc3209 I'm 4+2 and due 31st too ☺️

Has everyone spoken to their doctor yet? I'm trying to hang on for as long as I can because I'm scared I'll have to cancel the appointment it if I jump the gun.

Danielle95lab · 24/02/2020 16:48

@Frankincense88 I'm exactly the same as you, so excited but daren't be in case something happens or I'm making it up😂 I've booked in for an early scan at 7 weeks to put my mind at ease.

I've been the the doctors but they don't do much. I've got my midwife appointment 11th March so only around two weeks away for more reassurance.

Symptoms are dizziness, bit of cramping, back pain and constant exhaustion. Oh and a bit of pain in my boobs too. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow. Least we all have each other to support our journey x

Mc3209 · 24/02/2020 16:55

Yay! It's so nice to have someone to go through all this with! My DH is as anxious as I am about 1st trimester jitters.

I've already booked in with midwife this Thursday 😬 eek!
I am tired and cranky, and mood swings. My goodness, mood swings! And insomnia (which I never had before).

Mc3209 · 24/02/2020 16:55

Cramps, although dull, freak me out the most. I keep running to the loo to check there is no bleeding.

1990shopefulftm · 24/02/2020 16:56

@Frakincense88 where I live its self-referral by an online form rather than speaking to your doctor so i haven't bothered making an appointment.

I m considering booking an early scan for 8/9 weeks. It's my first baby so i don't know for sure when the best time for one is but I thought it's a good compromise.

@Mc3209 cramps freak me out too! Had some awful ones Saturday night but it's just been a bit dull and achey on and off since then. No spotting or bleeding though and have been doing tests every other day to check it's still in there!

Feeling really tired (but I'm always tired from work so don't know if it's a pregnancy thing) and still got achey legs / boobs.

Going to try and get hold of doctors later this week when I'm 5 weeks. I think I'll book an early scan for about 8 weeks to ease my anxiety. I'm constantly worrying!

KitKatKit · 24/02/2020 17:07

The tiredness and nausea are REAL today! I'm 5+5 and really wasn't expecting it to start so early. I booked in with a midwife this morning for when I'm 8 weeks. Crossing my fingers it's all okay til then. 🤞

KitKatKit · 24/02/2020 17:08

PS also another one who is so glad to have you all to go through this with! 🙂

ablisha · 24/02/2020 18:12

I spoke to a midwife this morning and booked my appointment for 21/3! I asked her about the cramps - she said it's perfectly normal which helped me for about an hour before my anxious thoughts returned. I really want to be excited and enjoy it but I'm so so nervous about things going wrong ☹️

1990shopefulftm · 24/02/2020 18:39

i've been getting cramps occasionally, just telling myself that if something goes wrong that there's nothing I would have done to cause it so to enjoy it as much as I can.

Another one with freak / anxiety cramps, worse on Friday day / night. Subsided Saturday and have slowly returned since! Also told they where normal, but that doesn’t ease the mind for long.

I’m 5+3, my early NHS scan is next Monday, time is going to drag until then! Then my Midwife said weekly after that until 12weeks, so it’s just going to be anxiety until trimester 2!

@1990shopefulftm I’m trying to stick to that mentality, there’s nothing more I can do!

Flora20 · 24/02/2020 19:26

I think we've all been having the same symptoms 😂 I got really freaked out by the cramps earlier in the week, I didn't have that with my first so it's made me a bit paranoid. Had an aching back last night in bed too so spent a lot of the night worrying again... But no spotting or bleeding and when I tested yesterday it was nice and strong so trying to be calm. It's tricky as the first time round I wasn't aware of the possibility of a missed miscarriage - my friend had one earlier in the year so now I'm more nervous than I was with my first.

Not contacted the midwife yet, my booking appointment wasn't until 10 weeks last time so seems a bit early! Hoping I see the same team as last time, they were all fab.

SophieJosie95 · 24/02/2020 19:31

I have my first midwife appointment next Monday 2/3.

What should I expect? I'm so new to this! I took another test today as I just don't feel too pregnant although my stomach is changing already and I'm only 5+5!

ablisha · 24/02/2020 19:57

@1990shopefulftm that is a good outlook 👍🏼

Is anyone thinking about an early scan?

Frankincense88 · 24/02/2020 20:07

@ablisha contemplating it but not until about 8 weeks I don't think. I'm stressing myself out worrying so it'll temporarily ease my mind until dating scan.

Flora20 · 24/02/2020 20:18

@SophieJosie95 The booking appointment with the midwife is a bit of an anticlimax, going through forms filling out medical history for you and baby's father, taking blood samples and urine sample. I was also asked where I wanted to have the baby and how I planned to feed it etc.

Flora20 · 24/02/2020 20:22

@ablisha Thought about it but they're so expensive! Plus the NHS advise not to have too many scans, especially early on, so going to try and hold off.

Danielle95lab · 24/02/2020 20:30

@Flora20 hey! When I spoke to my midwife she said there's nothing wrong with early scans apart from that fact you're paying for it. We've booked ours and it's only £49 reduced from £90

Flora20 · 24/02/2020 20:44

Oh really? Last time round mine said they don't recommend them unless there are medical concerns. If I see a good deal then I might book one for 8 or 9 weeks... £50 is still a bit pricey at the moment!

Tiatorres · 24/02/2020 22:32

As there are so many groups flying around I’d thought I’d add one that I’ve been searching for and that’s looking for local mums due in the Autumn to share this experience with maybe meet some one having their baby nearby or at the same hospital who knows feel free to join in even you’re out of London.

Danielle95lab · 24/02/2020 22:47

@Flora20 yeah it's still expensive totally agree. But yeah I've spoke to two, one at an early bird pregnancy class and my own and they both said there's nothing wrong with early scans. But just said that you'll feel reassured for one day and probably go back to being anxious again so some people find them a waste of money. But they're perfectly safe.

Frankincense88 · 25/02/2020 11:11

Got my booking appointment for 24th March, so I'll be 8+5. Does this sound about right? Seems so far away. Apparently the midwife won't see you until you're at least 8 weeks?

Danielle95lab · 25/02/2020 12:15

@Frankincense88 yeah that's right! I've got mine at 7 weeks but it's always around then anyways. Most people it's 8 weeks.

Mc3209 · 25/02/2020 12:48

I had to tell early at work due to occupational risk, and it's really scary telling work so early. I know it's for the best, but triples the anxiety.
