Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

@Lolllyf I also had it in fetal medicine centre in two weeks and I am thinking of cancelling and do it at 12 weeks with my hospital scan as I don't want to go to central London - I am told by my midwife that harmony should be after 10 weeks but it doesn't matter if it is later at 12 weeks ...
If you have it coming up this week would you mind telling me about their procedure in terms of hygiene and social distancing etc ?
Thanks

MamaNaz20 · 01/04/2020 13:06

@Mc3209 I was planning scans exactly like you ... but now moved harmony to hospital

Preggerspat · 01/04/2020 13:13

I saw somewhere that midwives will be ”ring fenced” in that the gov will not be able to relocate them to jobs that are not midwifery related if you know what I mean. I think the restrictions are all just based around reducing the spread of the virus so I’m just telling myself that by the time October comes around it will definitely be different. I personally don’t mind that my husb isn’t going to be at scan but it is our third baby and I’m sure if it was our first we would be gutted 😢 but I am going to get him to come in car and wait in car park just in case there is any bad news 🙈

@KitKatKit I am delighted for you and hope seeing your baby has eased your anxiety.

I follow the positive birth company on insta and they put up positive birth stories all the time - all different scenarios and it’s just lovely, @1990shopefulftm you should definitely follow them to help ease your mind.

1990shopefulftm · 01/04/2020 13:22

@Preggerspat I ll look into them, thank you:)
Yes I heard that they can only change a midwife's setting so there might be less of them for home births but they can't send them to work elsewhere.

@MamaNaz20 I’ll let you know! If you can do it all at once then that’s a good plan. I didn’t actually ask at my hospital. I know most centres offer a harmony or similar type of test. I am going to drive into central London (no traffic or congestion charge now) and I don’t live to far. I’ll be 10+3 tomorrow, I chose to do it now because the package was a bit cheaper. Definitely it’s fine after 12 wks. Many trusts offer it anyway if you are high risk after your 12 wk screening.

I suspect private clinics are quieter. I had a private scan last week and no one else was in the waiting area, both members staff wearing masks.

Just had my booking app over the phone and the midwife is going to come over to my flat to do blood pressure, urine, bloods this afternoon. Impressed!

Also she confirmed my partner can come to 12 wk scan. This might change but I don’t really mind.

Scan went well, the bean waved, and was very active. Sonographer kept turning me to get a better picture but it would stop doing sit ups 😂 and shaking it’s head. Hospital visit took ages though, was kind of hoping they would have speeded it up. But hope now. Blood infection, so more antibiotics, and low blood pressure which is causing my dizziness, which they said is normal! But pretty much symptom free.

@Danielle95lab this was my 5th scan (all NHS) apart from one private one. Been signed off from early pregnancy today, unless I have bleeding / cramping (none so far). If you want a private one for reassurance, go, they are good.

@Flora20 hope your appointment goes well this afternoon!

@KitKatKit thank you!

DressingGown87 · 01/04/2020 14:26

@Lolllyf glad to hear your booking app went well, and it’s good that they are coming to do your bloods at home.

When I was waiting in the hospital today, quite a few midwives where coughing. A lady waiting complained (she was a nurse off on maternity), and they got sent home! Hence the big wait. My midwife is also off with “suspected” COVID. So can see the strain already being put on them.

Danielle95lab · 01/04/2020 14:28

@DressingGown87 that scan is amazing!!! I love it. & thank you for the reassurance I've booked it in for Friday evening🤞🏻xx

DressingGown87 · 01/04/2020 14:32

@Danielle95lab don’t worry too much with your lack of symptoms. I’ve been preying for sore boobs, nausea and cravings.. but nothing! Hope your scan goes well on Friday. ❤️🤞🏽

Flora20 · 01/04/2020 14:48

@DressingGown87 That's a great picture!

Just back from the appointment that wasn't - waited for 15 minutes to have someone come and tell me that I'll get a phone call tomorrow instead. Apparently the midwife had sent a group text, but I'm clearly not on it... I now remember that the admin side was appalling last time too. I'd really rather not have sat in the waiting room for that long when I didn't need to. Anyway, hopefully tomorrow I'll get to speak to someone!

KitKatKit · 01/04/2020 15:48

@DressingGown87 yay fantastic picture! So happy for you Smile

@Preggerspat thank you! I do feel calmer but here's one for all of you with disappearing symptoms... mine returned within hours of the scan and I'm now having a day filled with yawns and nausea! We just can't be satisfied can we Grin

1990shopefulftm · 01/04/2020 16:15

@DressingGown87 brilliant scan picture :) I had some troubles with low blood pressure a while ago and lucozade sport and crisps were helpful for me.

@DressingGown87 the baby is beautiful!

Mc3209 · 01/04/2020 16:32

@1990shopefulftm now I want crisps! 😂

1990shopefulftm · 01/04/2020 17:10

@Mc3209 have the crisps :)

That's rubbish @Flora20 I bet you were pretty miffed :(

@DressingGown87 lovely scan picture, looking forward to seeing more from everyone else!

MamaNaz20 · 01/04/2020 19:01

I have period like cramping (not very sever yet) and have started spotting since this morning and got even more spotting now
Don't know if I should call the 24/7 midwife number or if I wait till tomorrow and call early pregnancy unit ? I am worried ; despite having this last pregnancy - just can't calm down

@DressingGown87 that scan is AMAZING :) I love it

MamaNaz20 · 01/04/2020 19:03

@Flora20 I was going to suggest earlier I would call if I were you; but thought you must have gone already... sorry you had to wait in the waiting room but hope tomorrow it all goes well

Flora20 · 01/04/2020 19:26

@MamaNaz20 I tried calling the hub a couple of times yesterday but didn't get an answer. I had expected to be told it would be done via the phone but no-one actually told me 🙄 ah well, at least there wasn't anyone in there coughing!

I've never had any bleeding but I'd probably ring tonight, just to reassure yourself. Even if they say to wait until tomorrow to get it checked out at least you know you've done it. I'm sure it's nothing, especially if you had it last time too x
