Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

Danielle95lab · 31/03/2020 15:11

@Luce123456 apparently they're not letting partners in which sucks but understandable. Let us know if you hear otherwise x

DressingGown87 · 31/03/2020 15:26

@Mc3209 we are all here to help each other. Hope your feeling a bit better this afternoon.

Welcome to the newbies!

@Luce123456 I know mine and many other trusts are not allowing partners. So I think it’s trust specific, have they got a number you could call and check?

I’m hoping this is all calmer or over by late October, so the worries over the birth won’t be there.

Luce123456 · 31/03/2020 15:46

Thanks for all the replies. It's not until Monday so I'll give them a call some time this week. I'm strangely ok with going on my own. My husband will be devastated but I feel like if it's bad news at least I can sort of get my head around it before I have to tell him. How awful of me to think that tho. We had IVF so we haven't let ourselves get too excited as their is a higher risk. I think until I get the scan and confirm everything is ok I will be anxious

KitKatKit · 31/03/2020 15:46

Hello lovely ladies, thank you all for your good wishes for the scan. I've just been, all positive, strong heartbeat and the little bugger was just lounging with their legs up in the air! Currently measuring 10+5 and EDD is now 22nd Oct.

Sending all of you with diminishing symptoms all the encouragement - it will all be okay 🤞🏼

Thank you everyone for your kind words throughout, it's so reassuring to have you all here!

professorastrocat · 31/03/2020 16:33

Lovely news @KitKatKit ! So glad everything is well.
I'm starting to get very impatient about my scan now....still got 2 weeks wait 😖

Jaffas22 · 31/03/2020 16:35

Brilliant news @KitKatKit (some reason won’t let me tag you properly)

Sounds reassuring as my symptoms are minimal too!!

What was your due date before your scan? Has it changed much?

WaveStreet · 31/03/2020 16:46

That's good news @KitKatKit I'm glad you've had the reassurance.

It sounds like a few of us are having some days with fewer symptoms now so we mustn't worry too much!

KitKatKit · 31/03/2020 17:35

@wavestreet yes, I had nearly 2 weeks of almost no symptoms which was slightly unnerving. I totally empathise with everyone. The weirdest thing is since coming out of the scan, I've now got a headache and slight nausea. What on earth are our bodies up to?!?

@professorastrocat honestly, I was totally calm and thought I'd be fine waiting til 12 weeks for the scan and suddenly the week before, I freaked the hell out and booked this private one! Such is life. Hope the time flies by for you!

@Jaffas22 my dates have changed by one day! So I thought I was 10+6 but am actually 10+5.

Mc3209 · 31/03/2020 17:56

@KitKatKit I am so happy everything is fine on your scan! That's very exciting! ☺️

MamaNaz20 · 31/03/2020 21:14

Hello all- I keep reading the posts here but before I finish I fall asleep and won't have time posting ... the tiredness is very slightly better than a week or two weeks ago (I am 9.5 weeks now) but it is still quite challenging. Frankly there are a thousands reasons why I hate this Covid19 but I am glad I don't have to commute to work now!!

I had my booking appointment today over the phone. I liked my midwife and the experience was quite calming - I have asked all my questions which were worrying me and all the answers were very positive : firstly I have booked a Harmony test in central London and I wasn't sure now what to do because or Corona- luckily my hospital offers the same at similar price and it can be done the same day as my scan and blood test - I have asked about my previous scan results and the size being 1 week smaller and she reassured me- I just have to wait another 3 very long weeks to get scanned-
Finally I asked about Elective C section. Because I was worried Covid19 will make it unavailable and she said no it should be possible to arrange it - although the plans should be made later in future appointments.

@FirstTimeBumps I am also very much decided on EC-section too- having had an Emergency one before ...

@KitKatKit glad it all went well with the scan- that's so so exiting :)

Mc3209 I am with you with being nervous with symptoms etc - this pregnancy is so different with my last one I keep asking myself what's up in my tummy - am I really growing a baby ...?

Stay well all Daffodil

DressingGown87 · 31/03/2020 22:01

@KitKatKit so happy everything went well with the scan! Mine is first thing in the morning, don’t know if I’m more anxious to leave the house / attend the hospital, or for the scan.

They was going to do my consultants appointment over the phone, but called me tonight to go after my scan instead, seen as I am there.

@MamaNaz20 glad you can have the harmony scan at the hospital, saves you an extra trip out, and avoid going in to london. Also glad your booking appointment has put you at ease.

KitKatKit · 01/04/2020 07:09

Thanks everyone!

@DressingGown87 Good luck today! Sending all the positivity your way Smile

@MamaNaz20 your post made me laugh because at 8.30pm every night I am absolutely wiped out, it's like someone's drugged me! I feel you on the tiredness Grin

Danielle95lab · 01/04/2020 10:35

Hey everyone, quick question!
How many scans have you had so far? I had a private one at 7 weeks, my 12 week one is in two weeks but with my partner not being allowed in we were going to get another private one.

But I just didn't want to overdo it, however I understand it's meant to be special for him to. But I was just thinking if I got my private one before my NHS if there was anything to be worried about at least he's with me and I'm not alone.

Flora20 · 01/04/2020 11:18

@Danielle95lab Before you decide check whether the private clinics are letting partners in - the ones round here aren't!

@MamaNaz20 I was feeling really proud of myself last night for staying up late for the first time in weeks... Looked at the clock and it was 8:45 😂

I've got my booking appointment this afternoon, haven't heard anything about it being cancelled or changed so assuming it's going ahead anyway! Feel like I should be wearing a hazmat suit, I haven't been in any building but my house for 2 weeks and not sure I really want to go to the medical centre... But at least it will be one step closer to a scan!

Danielle95lab · 01/04/2020 11:21

@Flora20 yeah I already know they are, well Window to the Womb are allowing one person in. Just bit on the fence with it.

KitKatKit · 01/04/2020 11:42

@Danielle95lab Honestly, do what feels right for you. I thought I'd be fine waiting for the 12 week scan with no private scans beforehand, and then proceeded to have a freakout 10 days before my NHS scan after several weeks of being relatively chill!
So just do what you need to do to settle your anxiety x

1990shopefulftm · 01/04/2020 11:45

@Danielle95lab I ve had one just after 8 weeks privately , not had a date for my 12 week one yet and the private clinic stopped allowing guests just after I had my scan so I m just hoping the restrictions are lifted and DH gets to go to my 20 week one.

If you can afford another private one, I d go for it.

OP posts:
Lolllyf · 01/04/2020 11:57

I went for a private scan last week (had spotting) and they were not allowing partners, however I am going for Harmony and scan tomorrow at the fetal medicine centre and they said last week I can bring my partner. So definitely check before.

Danielle95lab · 01/04/2020 11:58

@KitKatKit @1990shopefulftm thanks guys! I've booked one in so my partner can come, I'll be 10 weeks 3 days. Then least there's less than two weeks for my 12 weeks one.

Isn't the first trimester anxiety horrible 😂?

1990shopefulftm · 01/04/2020 12:02

@Danielle95lab I think I'd be much calmer if it wasn't for the pandemic. Its my first baby and I m not overly scared about the birth, it's not getting the birth I d like with DH because of restrictions that keeps worrying me as I m really set on the midwife unit but it's whether they have the staff to keep it going.

OP posts:
Danielle95lab · 01/04/2020 12:09

@1990shopefulftm I totally agree with you. It's sending us on edge and I feel like we're not going to get the proper care. Not internally but with appointments over the phone etc it's just not the same. The whole things messed up, it's terrible timing. But you've got to think of the gorgeous baby you'll have at the end of it💕 xxx

1990shopefulftm · 01/04/2020 12:23

@Danielle95lab Yes as long as baby is healthy that's what matters. My booking appointment as far as I know is still in person tommorow but I don't know what the rest will be like.

OP posts:
Danielle95lab · 01/04/2020 12:25

@1990shopefulftm aw that's good news. Get all your bloods and stuff out the way. It's nice to physically see someone as well. Let us know how it goes!xx

Mc3209 · 01/04/2020 12:30

@Danielle95lab I had one at 7 weeks (private one), then have Harmony test scan coming up in just over 1 week, and then NHS '12 week' scan week after that.

Danielle95lab · 01/04/2020 12:39

@Mc3209 aw that's made me feel a bit better then! Thanks for letting me know. Keep me updated with your scans and tests. Nice to know we're all in this together x
