Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

@Frankincense88 yes mine is 8 weeks!

Flora20 · 25/02/2020 14:18

@Danielle95lab Just found a version of the information I was given last time: www.nhs.uk/news/pregnancy-and-child/warning-over-souvenir-baby-scans/
Basically referring to the fact that longer scans at an earlier point than 12 weeks 'may' affect the nervous system. It's not a major thing but knew it wasn't just my midwife being odd!

I've not told anyone else yet but keep forgetting that everyone else doesn't know, weirdly, so I think it might slip out sooner or later! 6 weeks until 2nd tri seems a long time to wait 😂

StephyRose · 25/02/2020 14:33

Hi everyone,

Can I join? I'm 5 weeks and 2 days, due 26th October. This is my first baby after a MMC in Nov and a Chemical in Jan ... super nervous but how much bad luck can one person have right?

Cannot wait for my wee Autumn baby.

In my area you have to wait until your six weeks before calling the local midwife service so I'll be calling them sometime next week. Didn't make it to our first 12 weeks last time so fingers crossed 🤞🤞

roarfeckingroar · 25/02/2020 14:59

Can I join please? NHS says 24 October!!

First baby, very scared, even more excited.

roarfeckingroar · 25/02/2020 15:00

I'm also 31 Smile

Danielle95lab · 25/02/2020 15:00

@StephyRose welcome! I'm so so sorry to hear about your losses, I can't even imagine. All the best for this pregnancy and hopefully we can help each other through the journey. I have everything crossed for you.

Any symptoms yet?xxx

roarfeckingroar · 25/02/2020 15:02

I am absolutely exhausted and feel sick at the thought of most food, especially cheese.

I've told people I'm giving up alcohol for Lent despite not being religious so hopefully that will work until we are ready to tell anyone.

Danielle95lab · 25/02/2020 15:20

@roarfeckingroar that's a brilliant idea, I've been thinking of ways to get out of drinking with friends as well 😂

Hope you're okay! It sucks feeling sick, I've been pretty fine apart from backache occasionally and sore boobs. But we're all different aren't we x

Flora20 · 25/02/2020 15:36

Ha, giving up for Lent is a good idea! Fortunately my social life is non existent so don't have that problem 😂
@StephyRose That's so sad, I'm sorry for your losses. I'm sure everything will be fine this time round!

StephyRose · 25/02/2020 15:38

Thank you @Danielle95lab, so kind. 💗❤

No obvious symptoms of yet except an itchy rash on both of my hips. I looked it up and it's called PUPPP (stands for something but its too medical for me to remember! 🤣) but apparently woman get it in the 3rd trimester when their stretch marks when their skin stretches.

I do have it on stretch marks but I'm obviously not that far gone yet 🤣🤣.

What about you? And when is your due date? X

NiennaP · 25/02/2020 15:38

Hello, I'm 32 and got BFP last wednesday and think my due date will be around 29th October. Got my first midwife appointment booked for 23rd March and I am so excited but it seema so long away. We have been trying since the end of October so I am really relieved as I was worried it would take us a long time as my mum had a lot of problems conceiving. My husband is taking all the credit for such a quick conception. 🤨

I had my best friends hen weekend the weekend just gone so that was interesting trying to hide that fact I was not drinking but think I got away with it.

Desperate to start telling people but think we will wait until after my first midwife appointment. I have told my gym trainer, osteopath and husband but that is it so far. My best friends wedding is 9th april so want to tell at least her and my parents by then as dont want anyone to figure it out on the day.

I have my cousins hen weekend on 21st september and her wedding on 16th November along with my sister-in-law's wedding on 14th November so could not be more awkward for timing. I'm sure I am going to end up missing at least one of these events but not sure what to really expect with it being our first.

StephyRose · 25/02/2020 15:39

@Flora20 Thank you darling. ❤ When are you due? X

Danielle95lab · 25/02/2020 15:41

@StephyRose ooo that's a new one, I've never heard of that! Eee well hopefully you'll have a lovely smooth pregnancy.

I'm due 28th October, just gone 5 weeks! I feel like times dragging 😩 I've booked in for an early scan cause my anxiety is through the roof xxx

roarfeckingroar · 25/02/2020 16:20

Here's to hoping everyone has an enjoyable, anxiety free pregnancy - or at least as much as is possible!

Yes I think my friends will find my new found religious fervour a little confusing Grin

Frankincense88 · 25/02/2020 16:37

I've also 'given up alcohol' for lent 😂👏🏻

tulip2020 · 25/02/2020 16:51

Hi everyone and congratulations on you BFPs! I'm 5 weeks today with my first baby, due 27th October! So excited but also feel quite overwhelmed, I haven't told anyone except my partner yet and finding it hard not to have anyone else to talk to about it, is anyone else feeling that way?

Also have a bit of a dilemma as next week I'm supposed to be going on a work trip for 4 days and my nausea and tiredness is really starting to kick in! Any advice on that one welcome as I'm dreading the thought of a 4 hour flight plus 24 hour scrutiny from my colleagues! 😅

1990shopefulftm · 25/02/2020 17:15

@tulip2020 I m managing okay not telling other people but my family and friends aren't close to where we live so it's just work to hide it from. I ll be on a girls weekend trip with a couple of friends when I m 6 weeks, I m hoping morning sickness doesn't kick in then, I don't drink so it's only if symptoms give me away.

1990shopefulftm · 25/02/2020 17:16

I haven't heard from my midwife yet but I m really hoping they can offer me the 26th or 27th of march for my booking appointment then it ll be so much easier not to tell work as I m off those days.

Eep2020 · 25/02/2020 17:31

Hi 👋🏼 hope it's ok for me to join, I'm also due around 28th Oct according to NHS site. This isn't my first baby, we already have a 10 year old!! Feels like we are starting again.
I'm 32, work as a nurse in a busy area so I've had to tell people I'm pregnant even being so early! I've really not wanted to but had to cos of types of patients to avoid and things I can't do.
Really nervous cos of previous early loss in June and chemical in Nov.

Xx

Flora20 · 25/02/2020 17:37

@tulip2020 Eek I wouldn't fancy that! Travel bands worked well for me last time for the nausea, I wore them 24/7. Ginger and fennel teas are both good too, get them from health shops rather than twinings etc as they'll actually have some herbal content. You can pass off any nausea as travel sickness or just a bug I guess, there's lots going round at this time of year so wouldn't be too much of an issue!

KitKatKit · 25/02/2020 17:50

Hello to all the newcomers! I bought some travel bands today @flora20 and they did actually kind of help!

Earlier today I had a strange craving for a tuna mayo sandwich (not my usual thing)... has anybody else had any weird food urges/aversions yet?!

Mc3209 · 25/02/2020 17:50

@tulip2020 I'd just say 'I am under the weather and not feeling best, must be one of those bugs going around' Don't go into much details, and only if they ask.

poppetmoran · 25/02/2020 17:54

Can I join?

Think I am around 5 weeks pregnant with a due date of 21st October.
This is my first pregnancy and have absolutely no idea what to expect and feeling really anxious at the minute.

Mostly been feeling bloated, gassy and dizzy.
Had some small cramps over past few days but nothing else.

Hoping to get some reassurance and relieve some anxiety by joining in the chat...

Mc3209 · 25/02/2020 18:11

@KitKatKit I am no longer fan of coffee (couldn't live without it before). Right now sitting on a sofa in front of telly eating olives out of the can and drinking brine it came in 😬

tulip2020 · 25/02/2020 18:11

Thanks so much for the advice and will definitely look into travel bands, I hadn't even thought of that! 🙂
