Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

@1990shopefulftm @professorastrocat @DressingGown87 I bought a few from M&S online, not under wired, pretty comfy. They also do a 32E without being expensive. I don't want to buy nice new bras without getting measured

roarfeckingroar · 29/03/2020 15:44

It's seriously cold today. And boring. I've just done some yoga and really have no desire to do anything but nibble on cheese. I'll force myself out for a walk in a bit. Bleurgh.

1990shopefulftm · 29/03/2020 15:54

@Mc3209 i ll see if i can get some cheap ones somewhere. I don't own any sports bras, not been to a gym in years.

@roarfeckingroar i'll check m&s out. yes measuring would be really helpful right now.

Hope nobody minds me joining. Late to the party. I'm due 26th October. Found out quite late on (I say late, first baby I worked out I was expecting before a missed monthly) at 6 weeks. Had a scan the day after finding out because I'm.still BFing number 1 so had no idea how far along I was. I've got my booking appt on Tuesday which is really late I think at 10 weeks (had it at 8 weeks last time).

Jaffas22 · 29/03/2020 16:48

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well.

Haven’t had had chance to catch up with comments for a while.

I’m just wondering is anybody having difficulty with back pain? All weekend Iv had constant lower back pain feels like period pains. I know back pain in pregnancy is normal but I thought it would be more towards the end. Getting worried just hoping everything is okay

1990shopefulftm · 29/03/2020 17:01

@Jaffas22 I get back pain in the mornings especially, from what i've read it's normal according to the nhs www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/backache-pregnant/
I have horrendous posture so i m confident that's not helping.

@roarfeckingroar aww congratulations that is just lovely ❤ really delighted for you.

I got maternity bras from debenhams wit my last preg 2 years ago and I love them, they r jus small medium large sizing but I still haven't bate them off me and I'm no longer breastfeeding Hmm

Preggerspat · 29/03/2020 17:05

@FirstTimeBumps hello, I only joined yest myself, and I'm 10 weeks tomo and dont have my booking in app until 15april and have scan right after it xx

KitKatKit · 29/03/2020 17:25

@FirstTimeBumps and @Preggerspat welcome both!

@Jaffas22 nice to see you back, yes to the back pain. Had a stabbing pain in my left lower back in the early hours of this morning and was really worried, but it soon eased off. Let's try and remain positive 🤞🏽

FirstTimeBumps · 29/03/2020 18:05

@Preggerspat they haven't even given me my scan date yet. I tried to get it on the same day as booking appt but they were having none of it and told me it would still be in the window for the measurements etc

Preggerspat · 29/03/2020 18:26

@FirstTimeBumps maybe it's because of the coronavirus? I think they consider up until 14 weeks ok for first scan, it's so annoying though having to wait Angryxx

FirstTimeBumps · 29/03/2020 18:38

@Preggerspat I don't even drive so going to the hospital is going to mean can/public transport unless it's particularly nice and then I'll walk (if my bladder will hold for that long) so I was hoping they'd squeeze two appointments into one. Would make more sense from bother sides but ah well what can you do.

Preggerspat · 29/03/2020 18:49

It really does make more sense, mine is right after my booking in, I'm with midwife led unit and they are never as busy as the actual hospital but I have to go into the hospital part for the scan lol will be afraid to breathe.

I have had both my babies in a midwifery led unit and this time I'm going to go for home birth all being well (not because of corona, I jus didnt have guts to mention it last times) has anyone else thought of where they would like to have their baby - if that option is available to you xx

1990shopefulftm · 29/03/2020 19:16

@Preggerspat Its my first baby and I ve always been set on a midwife unit birth , it's attached to the hospital so if needs be if anything happens transfer wouldn't be long at all.
I also don't do well mentally at all on low doses of codeine (broke a rib a couple of years ago and stopped the codeine after two days as it was easier to think with the pain than the side effects ) , so I don't want pethedine or anything stronger than that as I m worried I won't have the ability to make decisions correctly if I have to use them. Hospital wards make me stressed in general so I m worried if I m forced into that option then I m going to be an awful patient to deal with.

@1990shopefulftm the midwife units are brilliant, I had my own bathroom with a pool and my husb was able to stay with me, also had my mum and sis in wit me, and they dont mind if u stay longer too. Hypnobirthing is great and following positive birth stories and birth without fear etc on social media really helped me get in the mind frame of trusting ur body xxx

1990shopefulftm · 29/03/2020 19:56

@Preggerspat I want to be home pretty quickly really, but having privacy afterwards is something I ll really appreciate.
I want to be prepared for the birth but at the same time I m trying not to think about it too much as everything is up in the air at the moment.

DressingGown87 · 29/03/2020 20:10

I’m going to get some string and a tape measure and try and measure 🙈 but different to the measuring I do as a day job! But will try m&s, boux, asda etc! Thanks ladies!

I would like midwife led, but with it being my first and high risk, I don’t think that’s possible. I think I’m going to have to be a planned c-section so they can remove cysts at the same time 😞

I’ve also had back pain and cramps, eased after my walk though. So I don’t know if it’s down to the fact I’m doing nothing in isolation.

FirstTimeBumps · 29/03/2020 20:11

@preggerspat number 1 was meant to be a home water birth but after 26 hours of my waters going he hadn't made an appearance and when we got to the hospital they found out he was breech so I ended up with a C-section. Opting for an elective this time but I'm going to enquire about the possibility of same day discharge as I've heard a few trusts are considering it and I was discharged the following day last time. I feel like worst case scenario and this virus is still about at least I know exactly when I'll be going in etc. Our trust are down to one birth partner and only during established labour then partners sent home an hour after birth and if it's anything like last time I'll spend 26+ hours in early not established labour Angry

roarfeckingroar · 29/03/2020 23:27

@Preggerspat I'm aiming for the midwife unit too, which is next door to the hospital should it go wrong. However I'm tempted to think about home birth if they are still restricting birthing partners in October.

Flora20 · 30/03/2020 09:07

I'm planning another home birth, first was amazing and I'm genuinely looking forward to this one! Can definitely recommend hypnobirthing and my pool was brilliant.

@FirstTimeBumps @Preggerspat My booking appointment isn't until this Wednesday when I'll be 11+3. Scan can't be booked until then so no idea when that will be but it's going to be cutting it fine in terms of measurements etc! I also don't drive so going to have to get the train to the hospital which I'm not looking forward to...

sunbreak · 30/03/2020 09:25

So I've just been told that I need to go to the hospital to attend my first, I.e. booking appointment with the midwife tomorrow. This is a bit scary bearing in mind that I've been self isolating at home for almost 2 weeks and now I have to head up in to what is essentially a breeding grounds for illnesses and what not else. I've never had issues with hospitals but with that pandemic I've developed a bit of germ(virus)-phobia...
Has anyone else asked to go to the hospital for their booking appointment?

FirstTimeBumps · 30/03/2020 09:39

@sunbreak mine is at the hospital tomorrow. The hospital are limiting who goes in and out and being extremely stringent with cleaning. It is what it is unfortunately. Last time my booking appointment was at a children's centre so I was surprised it was at the hospital this time, but it was made for then weeks ago before all the virus came about so not a responses to closing children's centres.

@flora20 mines tomorrow and I'll be 10+1 and the hospital have assured me that they'll be able to book my scan in within the window for the measurements but last time my 20 week scan was booked in with only a day to spare so if anything didn't go to play a re-do wouldn't have been possible. If need me I'll book it private however I won't be happy about it.

Lolllyf · 30/03/2020 09:49

@sunbreak have you asked if you could have it done over the phone?
I have just been called to say that my booking appointment on Wednesday will be over the phone. I have my 12 week scan booked for the 15 April.

Really hoping that by October things will be better. I work at a hospital but currently working from home.
They have suspended home births at the hospital where I work.

I am having non-invasive test (Harmony) later this week. I am 34 and this is my first pregnancy so I have decided I am happy spending the money on it.

FirstTimeBumps · 30/03/2020 10:21

@Lolllyf don't they normally do bloods at the booking appointment?
