@Prachi123 please don't worry. Many many women find out they are pregnant much later than you have. Implantation is only like to have occurred about 2 weeks ago. The umbilical cord has not yet formed and you haven't been sharing blood supply. You get folic acid from lots of food sources also. Just stop drinking now and start taking folic acid supplements and do not worry!

zoomies1 · 21/02/2020 13:53

@3isthemagicnumber3 hi, I am having the same thing. Yesterday and the day before, there was brown spotting when I wiped. Logically, I have read enough to know that as long as it isn't accompanied by pain it is probably ok but I was freaking out! I haven't had any today and I got a 3+ on a CBD this morning so I'm optimistic but I am googling a lot!
I am 5+3 today and going on holiday on Tuesday so worried about what could happen while I am away.

zoomies1 · 21/02/2020 13:56

@Prachi123 I couldn't read and run and no doubt someone will be along with some better words of comfort. Try to hold on until your scan and have a chat with a professional about it.

Remember that a lot of people don't find out that they are pregnant until they are really far along and their babies are fine even though they have smoked etc. As long as you take care of yourself now, I'm sure there is a great chance of everything being absolutely fine

Prachi123 · 21/02/2020 14:09

@Alicia870 and @zoomies123
Thanks for your kind words.. I am just an occasional drinker, it is just that everything happened in the wrong month. There were bachelorette and cocktail parties (first 3 weeks) and then 2 more episodes of binge drinking (last 2 weeks). I have been googling (I know I shouldn't) that the harm of binge drinking can be really dangerous specially in early pregnancy and couldn't be identified through scans.. I don't know what should I do now...

Alicia870 · 21/02/2020 14:14

@Prachi123 it could be really dangerous if you were doing it from when you found out. You may be 5 weeks pregnant, but the baby has not been inside you for 5 weeks- only 2.

I drank all through a holiday and found out I was pregnant when I got home and my daughter is absolutely fine!
This is from the nhs page on drinking during pregnancy:

'Women who find out they're pregnant after already having drunk in early pregnancy should avoid further drinking.
However, they should not worry unnecessarily, as the risks of their baby being affected are likely to be low.
If you're concerned, talk to a midwife or doctor.'

Catherine1210 · 21/02/2020 14:34

@3isthemagicnumber3 I felt the exact same way, yeah see how it goes, if it carries on maybe they’ll do blood tests. I’ve felt calmer since those. Funny how just seeing numbers can make you feel reassured! Hoping it stops for you X

Prachi123 · 21/02/2020 15:56

Thanks... For how long you drank ?
Yes.. I am consulting two gynaecologist and both have asked me to wait for sometime..
But this thought of harming my baby is not letting me sleep or have peace in my mind.

3isthemagicnumber3 · 21/02/2020 16:39

Thanks Alicia870 and Catherine1210, bleeding stopped for now but my head is full of negativities now. Hope you have a good outcome too. So hard this waiting game!

3isthemagicnumber3 · 21/02/2020 16:41

Prachi123 I know lots of women that have drunk a lot before finding out they were pregnant and have gone on to have healthy babies.

Sweetcornsfirst · 21/02/2020 17:30

I’m due also the 25th October 🥰 really scared also had a chemical Back in September I am praying everything is going to be ok. Wishing the same for you too sweetie

SomethingAboutYou · 21/02/2020 18:22

@ablisha it's best you call your surgery to check the protocol. I rang mine to ask and they said I needed to be seen straight away so I had my first appointment yesterday at 5+1. She just went through basics (vitamins, healthy eating, and gave me some forms and a date for booking in). We don't get our scan date here until after booking in (I'm in Wales).

@Prachi123 with my son I drank heavily the
week we conceived (was on hols so drank beer and/or wine from lunchtime through to cocktails in the evening) and then both weekends after coming home went out with friends and drank quite a bit. Found out I was pregnant and panicked about it and then loads of women I knew said they'd done the same, the midwife wasn't worried about it when I mentioned it to her either. My son is absolutely fine. As long as you haven't been drinking a bottle of wine to yourself every single night of the week, you should be fine. Flowers

ablisha · 21/02/2020 18:51

@SomethingAboutYou thank you! I'm so nervous but so excited! My mum is a midwife in the same area so I'm hoping she doesn't see any notes before we tell her!

SomethingAboutYou · 21/02/2020 19:41

Oh my word I hope you manage to tell her first! Are you going to wait long before telling her?

marauder1994 · 22/02/2020 12:21

Feel shattered today. But, I'm not feeling as sick. As much as I hate feeling nauseas; I liked it coz I knew baby was fine.

Now it's going away (and that was the first sign of my MMC) I'm starting to worry :(

ablisha · 22/02/2020 16:33

@SomethingAboutYou I think

ablisha · 22/02/2020 16:34

@SomethingAboutYou I think I'll tell her around the 7/8 week mark if we can get an early scan! So worried it's not going to stick

SomethingAboutYou · 22/02/2020 18:49

We're trying to keep it quiet from our parents until the 8-10 week mark too. They'll get so excited and I can't face having to tell them bad news (if we suffer a loss).

@marauder1994 sorry to hear you're worrying. I haven't really got any of the most common symptoms yet (such as sore boobs and nausea) but I'm exhausted, have insomnia and mild cramps and some food aversions so clinging on to the small things. I know what you mean with the nausea being comforting, I had that with DS, hated it when I had it then panicked when it disappeared.

MrsCl19 · 23/02/2020 05:55

Morning everyone! Anyone else's hormones crazy? I'm crying at everything 🤣

I did another test today because I had a frer left and it's stolen all the rest lines ink so I'm pretty happy it's still strong 🤣

Indigogirl88 · 23/02/2020 13:05

@MrsCl19 I'm feeling desirably un pregnant today but I've put that down to 10 hours sleep! I woke up feeling great, had some breakfast and did some housework, now feeling blah. No symptoms today but no cramps or bleeding so keeping positive Smile

I am however massively struggling with food anyone else? I keep going to eat, then finding I have no appetite but I'm still hungry!

MrsCl19 · 23/02/2020 13:15

@Indigogirl88 I'm the same with food so literally just picking at bits and pieces! My only symptom is being emotional which is very different from my dd which I just had really sore nipples

Prachi123 · 23/02/2020 14:33

Do we folks here who were not living a healthy life specially in first month of pregnancy (drinking, smoking and no supplements) and suddenly got pregnant. Are you guys continuing ?

marauder1994 · 23/02/2020 14:49

@Prachi123 I drank and didn't take supplements as didn't know I was pregnant till missed period. We were ttc but didn't expect a bfp after months of negatives. I am 100% continuing with this pregnancy.

Midwife, GP and sonographer have all said there's nothing to worry about as long as you don't drink from now on and take your folic acid supplements as soon as you find out

SomethingAboutYou · 23/02/2020 14:52

How many weeks are you @MrsCl19 ?
I haven't got the crazy hormones yet although I seem to want to cuddle and squish my 3yr old DS much more, everything he does is adorable (which isn't his status quo!)

Anyone else find it uncomfortable to lie on your right side? It feels heavy/uncomfortable, which seems a bit early to be feeling. 🤷

MrsCl19 · 23/02/2020 15:11

@SomethingAboutYou I think im 5-6 weeks not entirely sure as I have long cycles ... how about you?

SomethingAboutYou · 23/02/2020 15:24

Same, I also have long cycles and the midwife said to just use the date of last period for now as the dating scan will sort it out. So for now I am 5+4. With DS I didn't really have any signs of pregnancy until 6weeks and the nausea etc hit hard at 7 weeks so hoping it stays away again until then!
