Today: nothing Sad

Yesterday: managed a few slices of apple, a nibble of a digestive and about 10 chips all day due to HG :(

If anyone has any tips on how to force food into myself with HG I’d be so grateful, I feel so terrible for not being able to force food down myself without the fear of it coming back up, my appetite is basically zero x

LapsedVeganAcademic · 21/02/2020 12:39

@Jg93x That sounds tough, really tough. I'm afraid I know nothing about HG... have only had the bog standard everyday sickness, and I'm aware it's a totally different ballpark. From what I've heard, though, what matters most is that you stay hydrated, and that you seek medical attention if you can't keep fluids down. Sending love.

@jg93x have you looked up a website for Hg/pregnancy sickness. I'll find the link...

www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

I found it really helpful to read there articles. Great points about different drinks and foods sometimes tolerated, possible treatments that are available from GP etc. Hope if helps. Plus it's really understanding on there to, which sometimes is ths biggest thing, knowing others understand the difficulties you're experiencing.

B- cereal
L- veggie roast dinner and a yoghurt
D- will likely be a sandwich

lettersbyowl · 28/02/2020 18:08

LapsedVeganAcademic · 28/02/2020 18:31

Has anyone else had periods of being literally too tired to manage the chewing and swallowing involved in eating? Today hasn't been so bad, but the last week or so has been kind of a struggle

B (work meeting at hotel): Eggs on toast with avocado, tomato and mushroom. Then fruit salad with yoghurt. Several litres of orange juice.

L: Cheese sandwich, banana and more yoghurt

D: Ratatouille

Breakfast: porridge
Snacks: pack of mini eggs, banana, ready salted crisps, tangerine, peanut butter on toast, 3 white tortilla wraps (the only things that seem to cut through the nausea!)
Lunch: fish finger sandwiches
Dinner: home made mushroom soup

mouse1234567 · 29/02/2020 08:39

25 weeks tomorrow -still not getting that full feeling yet and sort of hoping I will so I stop stuffing myself! Relatively ok day for a Friday:

B-porridge with seeds and raisins
L-beef burgers, sweet potato, kale and broccoli
D-fish and chips batter and all with peas
followed by berries and yogurt

Today is Saturday so I’m forecasting more choc over the weekend!

Treaclepie19 · 07/03/2020 14:02

Really struggling with fruit and veg. I'm pretty much relying on orange juice and smoothies to do the job.

So far I've had a bacon sandwich and a magnum.

Treacle81 · 07/03/2020 14:33

Hi guys, Can I please ask those that are out of first trimester, did you manage fruit and veg? I just can’t and feel like fruit adds to my awful heartburn. Worried as hardly eating either of them but heard 1st trimester just eat what you can? x

1Pinkfluffyelephant · 07/03/2020 15:56

@Treacle81 I never really ate much fruit before pregnancy but didn’t mind veg. For the first good 16 weeks of this pregnancy I don’t think I ate a single fruit of veg as I just couldn’t stomach it. I basically ate carbs and takeaways for a while. Am now 37 weeks and for around 10 weeks now I love nothing more than raw carrot and pepper sticks, green apple slices and green grapes. I would honestly live off these everyday now. I think you just have to go with what your body is telling you.

Treacle81 · 07/03/2020 16:30

@1Pinkfluffyelephant phew, that’s a relief to hear! Thank you for replying and best of luck with your upcoming birth x

LapsedVeganAcademic · 07/03/2020 17:07

I agree. Unless you conceived at a very low weight or with specific nutritional needs, I think best to remember it's temporary and just go with the flow. For me, food aversions have always been stronger than cravings, and I think that's the case for a lot of women - it's just less discussed

Snack: handful of raisins while cooking brekkie.

Brekkie: homemade heuvos rancheros (loaded with veg), orange juice

Snack: Ryvita and slice of cheddar

Lunch: 3 bean wrap (supermarket), muffin, pear

Dinner: will be jacket spud, pickled cabbage and something I can't pronounce or spell from The Spice Box (recipe kit subscription).

Pre-preg I used to be able to go from small bwol of cereal at brekkie all the way through until dinner without feeling hungry. Now I am ravenous all the time!

Margo34 · 07/03/2020 18:41
