So today I found out I’m pregnant with #1 ! & I honestly haven’t stopped crying with happiness all morning. Although I know it’s early days, I just wanted to see if there were any other early Oct babies due so that we can share the journey! I’m over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

My MW just asked me at my booking in appt if I'm taking folic acid and vit d she said that's all I really need if I'm having a balanced ish diet-I'm taking those coz I used to take preg a aw but the tablets are so big I had problems swallowing them and the individual folic acid and vit d are much smaller!! Xx

@bluemoon2468 Hope everything tomorrow goes well (I’m sure it will!)

@MrsB1821 sorry to hear you’ve been feeling rubbish - hope you’re a bit better now! I’m with you on the CONSTANT hunger, it’s ridiculous! Just had a banana on my way to the gym, got to the gym and was hungry again. Keep telling my husband it’s going to be one big baby 😂

Welcome and congrats @MsSian93! Hope all goes well with the scan, we have our first private one on Fri at 7weeks and I’m so eager for it - I just want to know that everything is ok and then I might allow myself to enjoy it a bit more I think. Right now I’m trying to not get too excited until I know for sure (though I know things can still go wrong, it’s just a huge step!)

Sorry to hear so many people are feeling so rough 😔

Got my midwife appointment tomorrow afternoon! Even though I know I won’t get anything out of it immediately, it’s still so nice to finally be seeing some sort of medical professional about it!

Indigogirl88 · 18/02/2020 18:22

Hi all those with the food aversions I hear ya, all that is helping is baby bell cheese and orange juice haha. Dh is like erm your really early so get ready I'm like erm I cant help this! My belly is bloated but I dont feel bloated. I've felt nausea but not been sick, I have however been to the loo with stools a number of times, omg tmi!!

BntTowers · 18/02/2020 18:44

@Quiffy I want to tell my mum, but I feel like we'll have to tell his parents around the same time and I know the MIL will be overbearing.
I also think we want to tell them face to face so maybe I'll suggest meeting up next weekend and say then. Might wait until the week after for the in laws... I'm only just 5 weeks today so it still feels really early.
How are you feeling, did you manage to get a doctor's appointment?

SkyBlue20 · 18/02/2020 19:37

@Indigogirl88 I’m with you on the orange juice - juice, oranges themselves, I can’t get enough! Strangely enough, my auntie craved oranges in her pregnancy too, must take after her!

BooMamaBear · 18/02/2020 22:34

Craving rice and pineapple juice not mixed together so just had a bowl of rice and a pineapple juice my sickness has just got better so I've only just been able to eat!! Xx

I feel anxious tonight I'm getting booked in at the midwife tomorrow at 9am so I can get referred to the diabetic obstetricain. I had diabetes in both pregnancies and having poor blood sugars early can cause heart defects. I'm terrified as every reading I've taken for two days is high and my gp won't prescribe meds even though I know what I was started on last time. Hoping the midwife tomorrow can help get me some diabetic meds prescribed from someone this week!

JazzFord · 19/02/2020 10:15

Can anyone help me? I'm having trouble getting midwife, i was given the number by my GP for one, i contacted them and they sent me a picture showing i had to register through the NHS with the selected options, i called one of them and they said they don't cover my area, gave me another one and i left a message but haven't heard back yet. I didn't know if i was doing something wrong?

bluemoon2468 · 19/02/2020 10:19

@JazzFord if you download the NHS mum and baby app and put in your address it shows you which midwife teams you can register with.

Spark27 · 19/02/2020 13:56

Hows everyone's day going? @bluemoon2468 did you say you have a scan today? Hope all goes well.

Just had my call back from the drs and they are signing me off for a few weeks. So, time to find some box sets that hubby doesn't want to watch! They offered me some anti sickness medication but the thought of having to swallow another tablet is too much. If it gets worse I'll go back to them. Hoping by the time I get closer to 12w it will have eased off.

JazzFord · 19/02/2020 14:16

Thank you @bluemoon2468 I got information for my first scan and booking appointment now! thanks for the tip!

JazzFord · 19/02/2020 14:38

@bluemoon2468 Hope your symptoms are easing off too and hope your Scan goes well.

bluemoon2468 · 19/02/2020 15:21

All looking good at my scan today and I've been discharged from the Early Pregnancy Unit 😊

bluemoon2468 · 19/02/2020 15:22

Baby measuring 10.7mm today which puts it at 7+2. Was only measuring as 5+6 a week ago so I'm very happy with 10 days growth in 7 days 😊

bluemoon2468 · 19/02/2020 15:23

@Spark27 symptoms are still absolutely awful 🤢 counting down the minutes until 12 weeks!

SkyBlue20 · 19/02/2020 15:38

Just out of my first midwife appt, wasn’t very exciting! All they did was ask me a few questions to fill out a form that they can then send to the hospital we have picked. I expected bloods and urine test and everything but turns out we now have to wait for a letter inviting us to another appointment then the scan. So much waiting! We’ve got a private scan booked in on Fri so at least we have that to look forward to!

Spark27 · 19/02/2020 15:48

Yay @bluemoon2468, excellent scan. Congrats. Sorry to hear you're feeling terrible too though.

My body is telling me that I'm craving a coronation chicken sandwich. But the thought of making it, eating it, or even lifting myself off the sofa is making me heave! There had better be a magic switch of feeling better at 12w!

It's crazy how I had none of this when pregnant with my DD.

LexiM · 19/02/2020 16:18

@Spark27 and @bluemoon2468 sorry you are both feeling so rubbish. I count myself lucky at the moment as I’ve only had the odd spell of feeling nausea each day. Blue I’m so pleased your scan went well, what a relief!

@SkyBlue20 I thought they did urine and bloods at the first appointment too. I was under the impression it was done at the booking appointment then you had the scan around 12 weeks then next midwife around 16 weeks. How long was your appointment? I guess each local area isn’t slightly different.

SkyBlue20 · 19/02/2020 16:31

I thought the same, @lexim, but seems my area just add in an extra appointment for some reason, seems like a bit of a long winded way to do it but what do I know 🤷🏻‍♀️ Appointment was only half an hour. She booked me in for my 16week appt at the end. I find it all so very strange - all of this before they even know the pregnancy is viable!

emstone · 19/02/2020 16:52

Lovely news @bluemoon2468 !!! 😍 bet you're thrilled with the results and like you said, great development seen! So happy for you

MamaK36 · 19/02/2020 17:02

Congratulations everyone! I am due around 12th October. I have to be honest I’m struggling with the pregnancy thing at the moment. I’m constantly tired and feeling sick. My thoughts are all over the place, lots of worries about whether I will be a good parent and just silly things like what if I don’t love my baby. My husband and the few people that know have been amazing but it’s not easy at all. I hope it gets better and I can start feeling more positive about baby.

SkyBlue20 · 19/02/2020 17:03

@bluemoon2468 Great scan, so happy for you! How’re you feeling now? Xx

emstone · 19/02/2020 17:20

@MamaK36 I think all the feelings you've expressed are totally normal! It's a whirlwind of emotions right now, just try relax and enjoy it as much as you can xx

bluemoon2468 · 19/02/2020 17:24

@SkyBlue20 feeling totally awful in terms of pregnancy symptoms, but relieved to be done with the EPU! Don't know how I'll make it to 12 weeks feeling this crappy though. Being sick at least 4-5 times per day plus abdominal pain is still bad 😔

MamaK36 · 19/02/2020 18:09

@emstone thank you. I just expected to feel much happier than I do right now. Feeling so unwell is probably driving most of it. Hopefully once we have the scan and things become a bit more real my worries will settle Smile
