So today I found out I’m pregnant with #1 ! & I honestly haven’t stopped crying with happiness all morning. Although I know it’s early days, I just wanted to see if there were any other early Oct babies due so that we can share the journey! I’m over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@Quiffy @MrsD1990 I know, not that's I've been through this before but I feel like the first trimester is the worst.
You've got all these extra hormones, bad skin (I do anyway), exhaustion, continuously anxious that everything is still ok but you don't know because you have to wait so long for the doctors or scans.
All of this goes with not telling other people so you have to put up with all of this by yourself (while I continuously message DH to let him know for the 6th time today I feel like I'm going to be sick and I literally can hardly keep my eyes open).
I think at the moment it's the fact that it's just the two of us that know is bugging me so much. We are seeing his family this weekend. On the other hand I don't feel ready to tell them yet so meh. Just having a bit of a rant about it all, obviously I am still unbelievably happy that we are pregnant (finally!)

Treacle81 · 17/02/2020 21:47

Yip, appetite is unreal but I put it down to Spin earlier, maybe not lol. I’ve had THREE turkey steaks with salad and potato wedges ( one is normally more than enough) x

Spark27 · 17/02/2020 22:06

I'm so jealous of all the people who can eat and are feeling hungry. I'm feeling so sick, and I know eating would help a bit, but the thought of eating makes me feel worse. I can manage about half of my normal dinner amount but then then uncomfortableness and bloat is unreal. I don't remember feeling anything like this with my first.
I'm even feeling as though I'd like to actually be sick to see if that brings any relief from the nausea

Sorry, just feeling a bit sorry for myself at the mo. My hubby bought me my fave chocolates and I don't even want those Sad

SkyBlue20 · 17/02/2020 22:08

Yep, constant hunger here today too. I finish eating and am thinking about what I can eat next. Only started today and I’m hoping it doesn’t last too long! Glad it’s not just me being greedy and the pregnancy is actually to blame 😂

SkyBlue20 · 17/02/2020 22:10

Sorry, @Spark27, cross posted then! I hope you feel better soon, feeling sick is the worst. Just try sticking to bland things and salt and vinegar crisps, they’ve helped me in the past (I’ve been getting travel sickness the last couple of weeks so take a bag of crisps with me for the drive!)

Cookiemonster19 · 17/02/2020 22:32

@Spark27 same here! I’ve lost all appetite and I’m forcing myself to have At least one meal a day.... I’ve been having dry toast in the mornings and my main meal around 6pm. I’m feeling SO SO sick! I must have thrown up about 10 times today :(
I had my dinner late today at 7pm and I feel like I’m gonna throw that up too, been trying to stay still and keep it down as it’s the only thing I’ve eaten today 😟 sipping water to stay hydrated and having mints. Got anti biotics from the drs today as my chest infection is refusing to clear up!!

Safe to say I’m pretty miserable and feeling sorry for myself too but very grateful for my little bean even though he/she is making me soooo sick 😩

Also! I got my first midwife appt booked in for the 13th March! Exciteddd x

Ready4this · 18/02/2020 07:42

Hi everyone and massive congratulations all! I've read this post over the last few weeks as I found out I'm pregnant for the first time. Currently approximately 7 weeks.
I'm a pure mix of excitement and fear with a side of nausea. I've got my booking appointment on 3rd March which feels forever away but I'm hoping will pass quickly.
I have mild cramping pretty much constantly and it doesn't hurt, I'm just aware of it most of the time. I don't want to keep bothering the midwife with question (last week was regarding an outbreak of slap cheek in my workplace). It would appear pretty normal but there's always a little niggle of doubt in my mind. Any advice would be appreciated.
I hope everyone enjoys the journey!

Quiffy · 18/02/2020 08:06

@BntTowers I have found telling my parents really helped, it gives you someone else to moan to which is really useful.

Okay, so I think I’m going to the gp today if I can get an appointment. I was sick 7 times yesterday, had to get out of bed at 11pm. Woke up at 6 and been sick twice already. Can’t even stand my water atm. I’m also down 11 pounds since I got pregnant. Hopefully they can help a bit 😩

JazzFord · 18/02/2020 08:27

@Spark27 I feel exactly the same this week, its been so hard trying to eat with the constant feeling of nausea (although i havent been sick yet) i had to make myself the other day because the nausea and bloating was awful. I hope it gets easier for you and if you find anything that helps, let me know! Plain digestive biscuits have been a little bit helpful for me. X

SkyBlue20 · 18/02/2020 08:27

Oh @quiffy you poor thing, fingers crossed you can get an appt and the doc can help with some medication or advice. Let us know how you get on. Sending love. Xx

JazzFord · 18/02/2020 08:43

Has anyone else been suffering with Dizzyness too? I couldn't even get out of bed on Sunday.

CouscousEvaporator · 18/02/2020 09:43

Me @jazzford I can’t seem to get up without nearly falling. I’m getting checked for anaemia.
Haven’t been sick anymore just relentless nausea.

CouscousEvaporator · 18/02/2020 09:43

@Quiffy hope you feel better soon x

Spark27 · 18/02/2020 09:47

So, that's been a productive morning so far.....made it into work, and then had to leave cos I felt so bad. Called the midwife who said i needed to speak to the dr to get signed off. Called the drs and theres no appts at all. So need to call back tomorrow am or ring 111. Excellent. Doesn't feel bad enough for 111, but I'd like to see if I could be signed off rather than self certify.

@jazzford, I'm with you on the dizziness too. And feeling a bit short of breathe

dani04 · 18/02/2020 10:49

Hi everyone congratulations to you all!

I am 6 w and 2 days, I have been really ill with cramps and vomiting. The drs have give anti sickness but the cramps on an evening have become unbearable is anyone else having bad cramps?

JazzFord · 18/02/2020 11:58

@CouscousEvaporator That sounds awful, i hope it clears for you soon! Im trying to sort out a midwife so i can talk to them about it too. X

@Spark27 Sorry to hear that, hopefully you can get signed off. Yeah ive been getting shortness of breath too, so fatigued! Hopefully itll pass for us x

Quiffy · 18/02/2020 14:07

@SkyBlue20 @CouscousEvaporator thank you ❤️ I’m back home with cyclizine to try and I’m to go back Thursday

butterflylove81 · 18/02/2020 14:37

I've just been sent home from work dizziness and blood sugars high have an early booking in appointment with midwife in the morning

bluemoon2468 · 18/02/2020 14:41

Hi all 😊 I've got my follow up scan tomorrow at 7+0 after last week's emergency scan and I'm suddenly feeling really nervous. My pregnancy symptoms are through the roof so I have no reason to feel worried, but wish I wasn't having a scan because it just makes me nervous that there will be something wrong! Also the early pregnancy unit has got to be the most depressing place on the planet 😳 Last week there were so many women coming out crying and it really upset me.

MrsB1821 · 18/02/2020 15:29

Hi ladies not been on for a week as was feeling miserable and didn’t want to bring everyone down! Had a giant coldsore, a stye and generally felt pants! Also had major melt down and that I can’t do this! But feeling better - still HUNGRY - ALWAYS!!! I’m growing a lot more too brought a load of baggy jumpers for work - tryin to hide it! Finally got midwife appointment but not till 6th March - I’ll be 9+2 by then! Got early scan on Monday and telling the in laws on Tuesday night. Bean is hanging in there and think hubby is finally getting used to the idea. That’s my update - how you all doing??? X

Ellabella234 · 18/02/2020 16:03

Hi ladies. Sorry to hear some of you have felt so bad you've had to leave work! Hope you're resting for the rest of the day.

When some of you are saying about shortness of breath what is that feeling like for you? Cos I get this weight on my chest and feel like I need to take a deep big breath but doesn't make me feel better - I thought it was an anxiety symptom? Makes me feel a bit better if you guys have it too though (sorry - wish you didn't have it obv) so just wondering what it felt like exactly.

Finally booked in with midwife for a week tomorrow on the 26th, when I'll be 7+1. I am 6 weeks today. App says little one is the size of a honey bee this week so that is very sweet! Looked up some pictures it's amazing how tiny yet human they look already!!!

MsSian93 · 18/02/2020 16:30

Hi ladies can i join in!

I had my BFP back at the end of january, and my due date is looking like 3rd of Oct. This is my first pregnancy and its all very exciting and scary. I've read the whole thread and it's reassuring seeing people have the same symptoms and going through the same thing. I'm currently 7weeks and 3 days and due to see the midwife next week on the 28th for my booking. I'm still waiting on my scan letter to come through but i managed to pester my boyfriend into having a private early scan done tomorrow! I'm really eager to make sure everything is ok and just get some reassurance as it seems such a long wait between the bfp and any realness. I look forward to following along with everyone and hope those suffering feel better soon

JazzFord · 18/02/2020 17:21

@Ellabella234 Mine can vary from general shortness of breath walking uphill (like you've done a proper workout) to the weight on the chest like you said, having to take a really deep breath like you haven't fully got control of it and this pressure is on your chest. I think it's to do with anxiety as it's an early time for us all and waiting for that 12 week scan. Lighter meals and herbal tea have helped me a little! I'm glad i'm not alone in that feeling too :) meditation music can help too, i listen to it at night as since being pregnant, trying to sleeps been really hard, which i didn't expect early on.

CouscousEvaporator · 18/02/2020 17:53

@Ellabella234 mine fields like no matter how deep my breath is there is still not enough oxygen going in. It could just be from walking up the stairs or having a long conversation. I don’t feel particularly anxious so I assumed it was pregnancy related!

And thanks @jazzford I was told I have very low blood pressure today and have been instructed to rest at home. There is medication to try if rest does not help. I’m glad that it isn’t all in my head but it does suck 😞

BooMamaBear · 18/02/2020 17:56

Does anyone have sickness that seems to change times- over the weekend I felt really sick between 10am & 12pm, yesterday it didn't start til 3pm and today it just started at 4pm currently I feel really sick!! Is it just me? I've never had this before coz with my daughter I had no sickness and my other two pregnancies I felt sick all day!! Xxx
