So today I found out I’m pregnant with #1 ! & I honestly haven’t stopped crying with happiness all morning. Although I know it’s early days, I just wanted to see if there were any other early Oct babies due so that we can share the journey! I’m over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@SkyBlue20 been back at work yesterday and today but it's been a real struggle. No idea how I'm going to make it through the next 6 weeks tbh!

Zaalfruit · 14/02/2020 19:56

How is everyone feeling?

Feeling a bit down and think I need to stop worrying so much. On another note - what’s a funny old wives tales have you heard about pregnancy ?

I heard - if you eat bananas you will birth a strong baby 👶🏻

BooMamaBear · 14/02/2020 20:31

My nipples are stinging now I'm having to wear a sports bra to bed xx

Togetherismyfavouriteplace · 14/02/2020 20:54

@bluemoon2468 I totally feel you on that! I’m nauseous from the minute I wake to the minute I go to sleep. I’m not eating enough or eating the wrong foods because I literally can’t stand the thought of most foods.
I’m exhausted to the point work is actually painful and I’m getting really thick heads of an evening. Just feeling really terrible :( but trying to remind myself of how much of a miracle this all is! X

I need a little bit of reassurance or advice I think! Being pregnant is such a worrisome time. So I took my pregnancy test last Sunday and I got faint positives (first photo). Then this morning I thought I would test again because I’m silly and thought I’d see whether the line was darker.

The 2nd photo is when I read it after the 3 mins that it recommends. And then the 3rd photo is 40 mins later (bottom one is the one I did today) I know they say not to read it after the 3 mins but it looks like it’s gone stronger now.

Would you say it’s getting stronger or take the one that was done 3 mins after? I’m just scared as I have read if it’s still a faint line then it could be a chemical pregnancy.

Oh btw I’ve worked out that I should be 5 weeks and 1 day

BecauseReasons · 15/02/2020 08:25

@Liv316 stop peeing on sticks! If there's a line, you're pregnant. Leave it at that for your own sanity!

I've not looked at the third photo, as there's no point comparing out of the recommended timescale. However, the second pic line looks darker than the first.

BecauseReasons · 15/02/2020 08:35

@Togetherismyfavouriteplace

I hear you. Pregnancy sucks. I detest every minute of it, the whole 9 months, and the first trimester is the worst trimester. The first time around I felt guilty admitting that, now I no longer care. Don't be afraid to feel miserable and admit to that- I feel lots better this time around for allowing myself to admit I feel absolutely shocking.

Things I have learned:

  • Go to bed stupidly early. I've been turning the lights out between 8-9 every night this week. Tiredness makes you feel sicker.
  • Lemon, ginger and mint are fairly good at combating slight nausea. I've been mainlining mints on my way home from work because nausea is bad when driving for me. Try variants on all three and see if any work.
  • Eat what you want, when you fancy it. Your body craves what it needs so eat anything you can stomach. In my experience, if you manage to eat in that tiny window when you feel able to it helps with the nausea. Identify which foods made you feel worse and avoid in future.
  • Eat and drink slowly.

Hope it abates soon, for you (when it does, don't panic!).

My worst symptom is anxiety- I suffer from it prenatally and it's really awful. It ramps up as I get further along too Sad. Trying to get exercise in to combat it at the moment.

Liv316 · 15/02/2020 08:46

@BecauseReasons I know I know! I’m mad at myself for doing it. It’s my first so I think I’m just overthinking everything.

Telling Dad and sister today so I think I just wanted some reassurance that it was still there before I tell them!!

Yeah, I get that. Maybe just try not to compare next time you feel like checking? I throw away all my old tests for that reason.

BooMamaBear · 15/02/2020 09:00

Oh god it's starting I feel soooo sick! Xx

BooMamaBear · 15/02/2020 09:08

@Liv316- I think if you had a chemical the test would probably be negative by now -is there anyway you're not as far along as you think you are? Your HCG Levels could just be taking longer to rise -I did a Frer two days after my missed AF and it was quite dark so could it be that you ovulated later? It's definitely positive tho and I think it is a bit darker! Xx

Cdh55 · 15/02/2020 09:15

Congratulations. October due date for me too. We fell the first try with AI and donor sperm. I have terrible bloating, anyone else??

Bananaloaf88 · 15/02/2020 09:41

Hi guys! Found out I am expecting around the 22nd of Oct. This is my 3rd pregnancy since last July.
One ended in miscarriage, and one ended in the removal of my right tube due to an ectopic.
It is safe to say I am absolutely bricking it! Counting down the days till my 6 week reassurance scan just to make sure it isn't ectopic again!
Every twinge and pain is making me spiral!

Bananaloaf88 · 15/02/2020 09:42

@Cdh55 I have major bloating. I have had bad trapped gas for the passed two days.

BntTowers · 15/02/2020 10:11

Hi everyone. I'm going to jump on here.
I got my BFP a week ago and I think I'm about 4 weeks 4 days so I should be mid October.

At the moment my boobs hurt so much and I have constant bloating. I also have faint nauseous, not actually been sick yet but felt close a few times.

We've only just moved into the area we are recently and I hadn't got registered with the doctors until this week. I let them know and hopefully they should have my file by Friday and I can get booked in.

Is anyone having an early scan privately? I think it will help settle anxiousness.

@Quiffy sorry to see you are feeling so poorly.

@Cdh55 yep, horrendous bloating for me too, I feel like I look like I've already put on weight because of it!

KADAQ1 · 15/02/2020 10:56

Yes to bloating! I feel and look horrible.

Bean20 · 15/02/2020 11:19

Congratulations to all the new BFPs.

@BntTowers my boobs also hurt so much and feeling very hard compared to normal. I did a bit of researching at 4am when I couldn't sleep and thinking of investing in a non wired bra today. Hopefully that will help! I've also been feeling a bit nauseous the last two days but luckily haven't actually been sick yet. Hope you get sorted at the doctors soon.

@Liv316 try to stop worrying, I took two tests and haven't looked at them since. Hope you start to enjoy your pregnancy 😁

Cookiemonster19 · 15/02/2020 12:04

Hi everyone

Been a bit quiet as not feeling too well at all.... seem to have caught a bad cold and chest infection. That combined with morning sickness (puked 3 times today so far 🤢) has made me feel horrific :(

Yes to the bloating! Insane amount of bloating for me....

Hope everyone’s feeling okay!xx

3isthemagicnumber3 · 15/02/2020 12:22

Hi I got a positive test last week and am 5 weeks today. My due date was calculated as 17 October 2020. This will be my 3rd. Hello and congratulations to all the others on here!

3isthemagicnumber3 · 15/02/2020 12:24

Cookiemonster... I have also had a really bad chest infection, just finished antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon.

emstone · 15/02/2020 13:47

Hi everyone :)

I got my BFP on the 5th of Feb. Clear Blue said 2-3 weeks so I'm around the 4 weeks mark now. Told both of our parents but will keep it at that as it's still so early and I know it sounds silly but I don't want to jinx anything!

I have my first midwife appointment booked for two weeks time, should be around 6 weeks at that point!

Can anyone tell me what they do during the first appointment? Are they able to do a dating scan from then or will I have to wait for the 12 week scan?

Think I might book a private scan when I get back from holiday around 8 weeks for peace of mind!

marshmellow7 · 15/02/2020 13:59

Hey everyone 👋🏼
Congrats to everyone on their BFP 🎉

Well I thought I was having another chemical pregnancy but my line yesterday was lovely and dark so feeling a bit more confident now but it’s still such early days.

My symptoms are sore boobs, bloating, cramps and I did have slight nausea here and there but not in the last couple of days. Going by my app I’m only 11 dpo and would have got first BFP on 7dpo which I doubt as it wasn’t faint so I’ve ever ovulated early or I’ve read it can be multiples 😳! How’s everyone else feeling?

Spark27 · 15/02/2020 14:00

If its your booking in appt it will take approx 1hr. They will talk to you about yours and your partners health. Ask you questions on immediate families health, and any hereditary conditions.

They will take some blood to test for lots of different things (blood type, STDs, etc, all standard testing), do a urine test, and take your blood pressure. They will check height and weight and BMI.

They will talk to you to try and determine mental health, if your in an abusive relationship, how you're feeling about the pregnancy, etc.

They will take dates and give you a rough due date, but the 12 week scan will give a more accurate date (but then babies come when they want!).

It's all really relaxed, and just a chilled chat really. From that you get your green notes that they add to everytime you see them or have a scan.

Provided everything in straightforward and you get no issues you only get a 12w and 20w scan on NHS. (I got a cheeky extra one last time as at my '12w' I was actually only 11w so got to go back)

Hope that helps x

marshmellow7 · 15/02/2020 14:02

@emstone Congrats Flowers

If clear blue dated you 2-3 weeks that works out 4-5 weeks pregnant doesn’t it? Clear blue dates from conception but doctors date from last period so wouldn’t you be 6 weeks by now?
