So today I found out I’m pregnant with #1 ! & I honestly haven’t stopped crying with happiness all morning. Although I know it’s early days, I just wanted to see if there were any other early Oct babies due so that we can share the journey! I’m over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I slept through the night for the first time in a week last night but I don't feel better for it Sad Feeling more nauseous each day, felt like I might actually be sick this morning but nothing yet. Boobs feel like water balloons!

londonliv2019 · 05/02/2020 17:21

Hello all.

I’m 5+4 today (I think!)-first pregnancy so very excited/confused about what’s going on so nice to read from people in the same boat.

@esmerelda1988

@Changedname81 I saw that you both had uterus didelphys-me too! However I’ve not been offered any early scans or anything keep asking but everyone just seems a bit confused by me. Are you guys getting yours privately or on the nhs?

Xx

SkyBlue20 · 05/02/2020 17:23

Hi all, can I join? Got my BFP this morning at 15DPO. Very excited but also terrified! Baby #1 and we were lucky we caught it on first month of trying so feeling somewhat taken aback. Provisional due date of 9th Oct. I’ve tried calling the midwife twice today but haven’t been able to catch them to book an appt so have been told to call back in the morning.
Desperate to tell our parents, we were going to wait until after first appt but am told that’s seven weeks earliest (I’m almost 5 weeks now) and I just can’t wait that long so may reassess.
VERY nervous that something is going to go wrong, don’t think I’ll relax until week 20 and even then not properly until baby is here...or ever again tbh, sure we’ll always be worrying about them! 😂

@TunnocksTcake congratulations! I remember you from TTC boards a few months ago. Lovely to see you've got your BFP

Quiffy · 05/02/2020 17:29

@SkyBlue20 congratulations!! I couldnt wait to tell my parents, it was too hard keeping it from my mum on the phone for two days ahaha. I decided as Id also tell them if the worst happened then I'm happy to tell them.

esmerelda1988 · 05/02/2020 18:00

@londonliv2019 that's so strange! I literally felt like it's just me with it and now there's 3 of us.

I was seen at Queen charlottes in January to discuss fertility, that's where I had my op about 12 years ago and they're very knowledgeable, I would maybe ask your GP to refer you there. I had a scan today via NHS with a consultant to check which womb the pregnancy is in as my right side is problematic (it's in the left!).

I would ask to be seen by a specialist or consultant ASAP especially if you've never seen anyone to discuss your exact anatomy and how that affects pregnancy and birth.

laurenluke2017 · 05/02/2020 18:22

Congratulations! I remember I found out around nowish time 2 years ago. My son Lenny will be 2 on 15th October! It was the hottest summer ever of 2018, dont I remember it! Enjoy it hun! Xx

londonliv2019 · 05/02/2020 18:36

@esmerelda1988
I know I felt the same! So lovely to hear from other people out there who have the same thing.
I saw a consultant last year when I was diagnosed. I’ve managed to get a referral for an appointment with a consultant (and that took some pushing for!) but it’s not until after my 12 week scan and nothing is happening before that. Maybe I’ll call again and see if something can be arranged, my gp has been very unhelpful! That’s great that they are all over it for you already. Hope all was well with the scan today.

Cookie29 · 05/02/2020 18:43

@blankiesandunicorns Ahh yes sleep! I seem to be able to crash out then wake in the middle of the night! Is your sickness all day, I seem to have it in waves... it more a gentle churning/nausea feeling! I do feel incredibly bloated and get slight cramps on and off throughout the day!

TunnocksTcake · 05/02/2020 18:52

@Quiffy yess hello I remember you! So pleased you also got your BFP! Praying this is the one that sticks 😬
I've been having trouble sleeping, waking in the night and can't get back to sleep, just wide awake! Sometimes I feel sick at that time but mostly I wake up for a wee!

Is anyone else getting lower back pain? I've had it most days and I know it's normal but it's freaking me out! Tends to be when I've sat down for ages at work and gets better when I move around? I always have trouble with my back 😫

esmerelda1988 · 05/02/2020 19:04

@londonliv2019 that's crazy.. normally any doctor I see looks terrified and immediately refers me to someone who knows what they're talking about. You'd be a high risk pregnancy I would have thought. I was recommended that I have regular scans to check cervical length and would possibly need a suture in later stages of pregnancy, and also have to have a C section. How did you find out about yours?

Quiffy · 05/02/2020 19:08

@TunnocksTcake thank you!! The peeing and getting back to sleep is a nightmare. The only thing working for me is to listen to podcasts like a bedtime story, although DH thinks I shouldn’t be listening to serial killer ones 😹😹

Lowe back I get if I’m sat too long working, I work at home so get and up and walk about every so often to get a relief.

How’s everyone with heat? I’m either cold or roasting atm. I’ve found myself having a fan on at night along with extra blankets. Feel like a crazy person 😹

SkyBlue20 · 05/02/2020 19:14

@Quiffy I feel the same - I felt so guilty speaking to my mum earlier keeping this massive secret from her! Husband and I want to tell our mums at the same time so will have to get them round for dinner soon (they’re quite close and we have them round regularly so easy enough to do without it seeming like a big thing). They’re going to be so thrilled 🥰 Then I will tell my dad, who will definitely cry 😂

Quiffy · 05/02/2020 20:08

@skyblue20 that sounds like a lovely idea to! I was lucky that I got my bfp 2 days before we were travelling to visit my parents (they live a few hours away) so perfect opportunity. I was a tad naughty as I got a “hooray” and put my address and their names on it as if it was just a leftover Christmas card as I hadn’t them since then. My mum burst into tears and my step dad is still in happy shock 😻 it was so great telling them. Hopefully travelling to see in-laws this month so we can tell them in person too.

LexiM · 05/02/2020 20:24

Congratulations @SkyBlue20 - I got pregnant first time too and due around 10th Oct.

I’ve been awake around 4.30am for the last 3 days and struggle to go back to sleep, not sure if it’s cramps or needing the loo that wakes me! I also enjoy a podcast in the middle of the night. Smile I had a nap when I got home this evening!

It’s so weird having this secret and making sure I say all the right things all the time so nobody guesses. How many weeks gone do you all plan on telling immediate family e.g Mum if you haven’t already? I kind of don’t know why I haven’t told my Mum because I would tell her if something went wrong anyway but I just want to have an appointment or something first for it to almost seem more real.

My Dad is getting married in May and his partner has invited me to her hen do end of March asking if I can come but hasn’t said what/where it is yet... already hoping I feel well enough to go as the nausea is starting already the last couple of days.

SkyBlue20 · 05/02/2020 20:38

@Quiffy That sounds fab! 💕 I think we’re thinking of some sort of card but not really sure yet.

@LexiM Nice to see you here - I remember you were on one of the TTC threads and our dates were similar! ☺️ It is SO weird having this secret - a friend outright asked me if we thought we’d ever have kids today (we’ve talked about it before, she wasn’t being out of line or anything) and I had to bare face lie to her, I hated it! I was just like ‘yeah we’re hoping this year’...which is true, I guess. We’re currently stressing as meant to be going for dinner and a night out with another couple on Saturday, in another city, and staying at theirs and we can’t figure out whether to cancel, try and come up with an excuse for me not drinking (They’ll totally guess) or what! We’re hoping to tell the mums on Friday, my dad when we next see him (maybe next weekend) and my bro-in-law and his wife when we go to visit later this month. Everyone else can wait until around the three month mark unless there’s a reason we may find it easier to just tell them. I totally know what you mean about wanting an appointment or something first though, we were the same. It kind of feels like we’re just making it up at the moment 😂

LexiM · 05/02/2020 20:52

@SkyBlue20 exactly the same for me at the weekend with my friend at a baby shower!! I said we are going to start trying soon. I am sure she will laugh when I can finally tell her!

My Mum is going to be so thrilled when we decide to tell her, then it will be hard for her as well as us to keep quiet and not tell all her friends!

Quiffy · 05/02/2020 20:54

Think I'm the same on 3 month mark. We'll tell BIL and wife I think. I'll tell my aunt and uncle after private scan but maybe before 12 week mark as will likely see them just before then.

Totally get you on the making it up part. I mean bar feeling a bit crap and the pee stick telling me, it's hard to trust youre pregnant and everything is okay!

Your friend was is tough @skyblue20 maybe cancel for your own stress. Or say your on antibiotics that you can't drink on? Might look a bit fishy though.

Daisy2206 · 05/02/2020 21:20

@SkyBlue20 there are certain antibiotics that I've had before for a wisdom tooth/gum infection that I was instructed to absolutely not drink on or I would be violently ill. So you could call that card? Xx

MrsB1821 · 05/02/2020 21:21

@SkyBlue20 and @LexiM same for me! Caught first time with first baby and due on 7th October!
So excited but so worried too!
Seen doc and told me to call
Midwife who told me to call back after 6 weeks to book my appointment. Got private scan on 24th October.
Showing already so trying to keep it secret is so hard! Also managed to
bluff reason to see my dad - he lives 3.5 hours away and he has not time off til mid March - driving down for an evening! Hahaha
Going straight from scan to mother - in - laws. Giving her an ‘early birthday prezzie’ she will be thrilled! X

SkyBlue20 · 05/02/2020 21:23

@LexiM When do you think you’ll tell your mum? Yeah I think my friend will laugh too, can’t wait to be able to tell her!

@Quiffy when are you planning on having a private scan? We’re thinking maybe next weekend as we’ll be six weeks by then and that seems to be the earliest they do them? I definitely will end up POAS again this weekend, too, just to check the line has gone darker 😬🙈
Still no decision on friend situation, we feel terrible cancelling as it’s been planned for ages and everyone is really excited for it but they’ll just guess if I’m not drinking. Would just tell them but SO early and not even all parents will know by then.

MrsB1821 · 05/02/2020 21:23

Ladies- DH and I have a fab sex life and we have carried on even tho I’m now 5 weeks. Is this wise??? Xx

SkyBlue20 · 05/02/2020 21:24

Oooh good to know about them, @Daisy2206, thank you! I had totally just had a filling last time we went to theirs, too 😂

SkyBlue20 · 05/02/2020 21:27

@MrsB1821 It’s so annoying having to wait so long to book an appt isn’t it?! I feel like it won’t be real until a healthcare professional says it is!
Sounds like you’ve got it all planned out to tell the important people, enjoy it - I bet it’s so nice to be able to bring someone so much joy! I’m due around my dad’s b’day too, which will make it doubly special for him I think (he’s a softie like that 😂)

Daisy2206 · 05/02/2020 21:31

@SkyBlue20 well your teeth must really be playing havoc then ;) 😂 🤷‍♀️ I've been to my aunties tonight with my mum for a glass of wine.. My mum knows but we will tell other family closer to the 12 week mark... So I had to take my non-alcoholic wine in a regular wine bottle and just say it had been open for ages and needed using up, so I would drink my own and they could share a bottle 🙈 it's so tricky isn't it!
