So today I found out I’m pregnant with #1 ! & I honestly haven’t stopped crying with happiness all morning. Although I know it’s early days, I just wanted to see if there were any other early Oct babies due so that we can share the journey! I’m over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have no idea when I will tell my mum, we’ve decided we will just see how I feel and possibly after the midwife appointment. I am waiting for the midwife to call to confirm a date. I am not sure I will be able to wait til 12 weeks.
My Mum lives nearby so it isn’t hard to see her at any point but it may also make it difficult not to tell her without her guessing in the coming weeks.

Sorry I forgot to say about your friends @SkyBlue20 - it’s hard isn’t it. If they know you had been trying I think antibiotics is so obvious. Would it be possible for your husband to cover for you? Drink the drinks or order and pretend it’s more than just a soft drink? That being said it’s easier if out but probably not at their house!

MrsB1821 · 05/02/2020 22:06

@SkyBlue20 - we host a party every year and I’ve already got my cover story... ‘I drank so much the night before I’m layin off the hard stuff! I’m prob still hung over!’
That’s if I don’t get much bigger and they don’t guess! Xx

MrsC105 · 05/02/2020 22:38

@Mrsb1821 are you showing already?!

Quiffy · 05/02/2020 22:44

@Daisy2206 that is super stealth work with your wine., love it!

I’m lucky in the fact that I don’t drink often due to some pain medication for a chronic illness. I came off as soon as I got bfp but since I’ve not drank more than the odd glass for last 2 years no one expects to see me drinking. Otherwise it would be a nightmare!

@SkyBlue20 I’m thinking around the 8 week mark, my midwife appointment is around 7 + 6 so maybe the weekend after. I both desperately want to know and terrified to go and know 😅😅

@MrsB1821 someone else I know on here has a cute little bump as she’s so tiny, she’s only a month or so ahead of us! Least it’s still big jumper weather for you!

londonliv2019 · 05/02/2020 23:16

@esmerelda1988 found out when I was having a smear and the nurse noticed two cervixes and all went from there. Yes, get the terrified looks but doesn’t seem to have got me anywhere! Might try and ring again and ask more directly now I know I’m not crazy for thinking I might need an earlier scan.

And I agree with everyone-the no alcohol thing is already a nightmare to hide. Someone had left a glass of Prosecco on my desk at the end of work the other day and I had to take it to the loo like a weirdo so I could pour it away -what a waste haha!

esmerelda1988 · 06/02/2020 07:12

@londonliv2019 when I saw the consultant yesterday she said that I could be at risk of rupture as the baby grew (right womb) if the womb wasn't fully developed, which apparently you can only tell by MRI - I'm sure that's not the same for you but it might help your case with the doctor to point out it isn't just a totally straight forward pregnancy. Loads of women have successful pregnancies with UD but in some cases probably because they're closely monitored especially in later stages, I would insist you see a consultant. Hope you get somewhere!

SkyBlue20 · 06/02/2020 08:29

@Daisy2206 that is dedication, I love that trick!

@LexiM I think if it were just a night out he’d be able to cover but we’re going out for dinner just the four of us so that’s not as simple unfortunately.

@MrsB1821 That sounds like a good plan! How far gone will you be at the party? A loose dress is your friend!

@Quiffy That sounds wise. We’re tempted by next weekend which is six weeks but I read that they can’t always see a heartbeat at that stage and I think that just might be too stressful!

How’s everyone feeling today? I feel completely normal which of course is making me worry 🤦🏻‍♀️ Got a work thing tonight and need to get my story straight for not drinking but I think I have that one sussed!

Quiffy · 06/02/2020 08:40

I'm feeling really nauseated this morning, it's been creeping up the last few days. I know most say it doesnt kick in until 6 weeks, thinking it might be all the vitamins or the lack of sleep. Finding it really difficult to get comfy when boobs are so sore.

@SkyBlue20 I agree, I'm feeling moany this morning, but when you feel normal it feels that much more worrying even if everything is fine.

Anyone have any good recommendations on books or blogs on being a first time mum? Despite being an expert on fertility, ttc and all that jazz I'm now worrying that I know nothing about babies. I don't even think I've held a maybe more than twice!

Leahmorob · 06/02/2020 09:21

Me!!! Did a test whilst on holiday which was positive and another when we got home saying 2-3 weeks congratulations 🥳

MrsC105 · 06/02/2020 09:22

@SkyBlue20 I feel completely normal too apart from a really achey back when i'm sat down for too long!

I actually said to DH and my Mum, I want to feel sick so it feels more real haha!

TunnocksTcake · 06/02/2020 09:26

@skyblue yeah I had antibiotics for wisdom tooth infections that literally make you throw up if you have anything to drink. Although the antibiotics excuse does always scream pregnant! Can you be hungover?!

I am feeling better (mentally) now I've reached 6w 1d and this pregnancy definitely feeling different to the mcs. I went to the gym this morning and my boobs hurt sooo much! Also keep getting nausea that literally gets to the point where I feel like I'm going to be sick and my mouth fills with saliva but it just stays like that, no actual vomit. It's really unnerving though keep thinking I'm going to be sick while talking to people 😫 I'm happy to have it though, praying it's a good sign!

TunnocksTcake · 06/02/2020 09:27

Sorry that was really disgusting haha just felt the need to share! 😂

MrsB1821 · 06/02/2020 09:44

Morning ladies - here is my pic from last night... I’ve cut my head off for now as paranoid someone will find out and tell dad before I get to see him lol!

Glitterchik · 06/02/2020 09:45

Congratulations everyone, got my BFP on Saturday going by my dates I'm due on 10th October. I had an ectopic pregnancy November last year and had my right tube removed this was our first month trying and we conceived straight away so feel like it's meant to be though I'm very scared the same things going to happen again. Spoken to EPU and I've got a scan on 21st Feb that seems ages away though.

Quiffy · 06/02/2020 09:50

@MrsB1821 Your bump is beyond cute

@glitterchik congratulations!

charlie0692 · 06/02/2020 09:55

@mrsb1821 how cuteee!! I'll be 5 weeks on saturday, the nausea seems to be starting I think, felt really nauseous when I woke up this morning but feeling better now I've ate 😂 I booked an early scan last night for the 22nd, I'll be 7 weeks that day, praying we will be able to see a heartbeat. I just want the next few weeks to fly by, I hate the lying to everyone ha especially my mum. Weve decided to wait until the early scan before we tell our patents then everyone else we will wait until the 12 week scan before telling. Roll on the beginning of April!!! X

MrsC105 · 06/02/2020 10:11

@MrsB1821 how cute!

@charlie0692 i'm 7 weeks on 22nd too and was going to book an early scan for that day but my mum is visiting for the weekend and we wanted it to be just us 2 so i'll have to wait until the week after :(

charlie0692 · 06/02/2020 10:28

Hey @mrsc105, it's so difficult isnt it 🙈 will this be your first baby? X

MrsC105 · 06/02/2020 10:32

@charlie0692 I know lol feel bad because she would love to come but I want it to just be us 2.

Yeah my first, you?

charlie0692 · 06/02/2020 10:50

@mrsc105 😊 this will be our second we have a little boy who's nearly 2. I thought I would be alot calmer this time around but I think I'm panicking more this time 🙈 how are you feeling? Any symptoms yet? X

MrsC105 · 06/02/2020 10:58

@charlie0692 aww that's a nice gap!
I don't feel too bad actually.. I had a chemical in December and as soon as I found out I was pregnant I had a bad feeling. But I feel pretty relaxed at the moment.
I don't really have any symptoms other than back ache when i'm sat for too long at work and bloating. Do you?

charlie0692 · 06/02/2020 11:09

@mrsc105 yep about 2 and a half years gap between them, so that should be nice 😊 sorry to hear about your chemical, that must have been hard especially around christmas time. I've had on and off cramping for the past week, and I've been tired alot more than usual, but when I think back to my first pregnancy all I can remember was the tiredness at first, then the sickness kicked in around 5 or 6 weeks, I am dreading the sickness 🙈 but it will all be worth it in October 😊 xx

MrsC105 · 06/02/2020 11:13

@charlie0692 oh god yeah i'm so tired too lol! I'm hoping I don't get sick because of work, i'd never be able to hide it then 😫

LexiM · 06/02/2020 12:20

I am feeling nausea already - it definitely goes away a bit when I eat. I think I’m mainly feeling rubbish due to lack of sleep this week. Most my symptoms are at night and I’m uncomfortable already waking at 4-5am most days... I know this is just the start. I’m feeling so bloated too but it’s definitely not a bump, I’ve read that its quite common will go away soon, I hope!!

Quiffy · 06/02/2020 12:27

@LexiM that's exactly how I'm feeling. Bloated and boaky! Eating definitely helps for a bit - making me scared for when the hormones really kick in haha!
