Hi girls!

Recently found out that I’m pregnant and based on my last period I think I should be 4 weeks today! Just wanted to start a thread to see if there’s anyone else who’s in the same boat?

I’m so excited but also extremely nervous about the thoughts of a miscarriage so just wanting to reach out to people who are at a similar stage :)

Thanks! Xx

Hey everyone, got my BFP today exactly two weeks after conception so I think I am 4 weeks. Going to call midwife tomorrow and book an appointment for 8 weeks. So excited for first scan etc it's going to feel like a long wait but all worth it.

Cramps and going to toilet (1 and 2) so much more than normal! I had a wave of feeling so sick last weekend walking around dunelm and had to leave it was vile!

Also got preg on first cycle of trying! Couldn't believe it. Was so sure it would take longer so I'm cautious to get through the next 8 weeks. Although waited a year for cycles to return after being on implant and other contraception for 10 years!

Congratulations to us all. Happy to be on this thread x

georgiexo · 19/01/2020 19:24

Just a few tests to confirm! Lol.

4 weeks pregnant :)
LaurenL7 · 19/01/2020 20:24

Congrats @georgiexo and @Nicalo2019!! We have a Facebook group if you want to join that (the link should be somewhere in one of the previous comments) 😊

I'm doing ok symptoms-wise, I literally just have slightly tender boobs and that's mostly it. I had very mild waves of nausea last week but that's pretty much subsided now and only seems to return if I'm really hungry, which isn't often as I've been stuffing my face!

Bubble29 · 19/01/2020 20:26

@Harri87 my symptoms have died down. Haven't had for most of the week and my boobs are sore every now and then. Annoyingly I've started to have a 4am wee 😞

I've noticed though my wee goes from super hydrated to dehydration really quickly! 🤷🏽‍♀️

My anxiety is subsiding but I kind of wish I had a few more symptoms! Famous last words!

Nicalo2019 · 19/01/2020 21:13

Thanks @laurenl7 slightly nervous already as had mc in November so really nervous about it all!

Dandylion360 · 19/01/2020 21:19

Hi all, hope it’s ok to join.
I think I’m 4+1, bit tricky to work out as I came off the pill in December so no real cycle to go off.
Baby number 2 for us. I’m 29 and live in Cheshire.
Got the midwife booked in for 28th Jan, and an early scan for 8th Feb. We did an early scan last time and it was so reassuring!!
I have a lot of strange cramps and tummy aches so far, and I’ve been ravenous over the last few days!
We’re hoping to tell our family straight after the early scan! It can’t come quick enough!!!

mincedpea · 20/01/2020 08:30

Welcome to all the new girls! Hope we are all doing well and not worrying too much. Sorry to hear about those who have had previous miscarriages, hope this time around is better.

I also have the crazy thirst combine with waking up at night for the loo, very unhelpful. My boobs have become very tender too, taking off my bra at night is agonising! Apart from that, nothing too exciting symptom-wise.

Thanks for all the vitamin recommendations. @mimmi91 What's the benefit of the omega 3 supplements? I am a vegetarian but would be willing to compromise if it helps the embie grow! Thanks also for the FB link, I don't have FB but may join soon.

@Banbi One cool thing about an early scan is that you can hear the heart beat. They also figure out the position of the baby in terms of where it implanted, and also get some measurements and check things are going OK. I think you get a scan picture too. I don't think it's essential but I'll be having one at 7+4. I think they are routine for IVF pregnancies.

Booona19 · 20/01/2020 09:19

@mincedpea im not on Facebook either and I've a private scan booked and I'll be 7 weeks exactly so I'm nervous but also excited too Smile I don't have much symptoms but I can sympathise with you on the sore boobs in the evening once the bra comes off haha

georgiexo · 20/01/2020 13:35

What are the recommended vitamins to be on? I have folic acid but just saw pregnacare and pregnacare plus! Also how long did it take for midwives to call you all back I'm so wager to have an appointment booked in! X

LuckyWright · 20/01/2020 15:31

I am taking pregnacare (the liquid form). I've also just purchased some vitamin D - it is a spray and you spray it once a day on your tongue. The NHS suggest Vit D it for women pregnant between Sep - March in UK.

Jademoroc · 20/01/2020 16:12

Hey all just did a test yesterday and positive I’m roughly 3-4 weeks this is my 6th pregnancy but unfortunately Suffered 3 miscarriage’s 1 erupted ectopic so I now have 1 tube but I have my son who’s 10 years old, and fingers crossed this pregnancy goes well.

LaurenL7 · 20/01/2020 16:15

@LuckyWright I'm taking pregnacare too! I'm sure it has Vit D in already though. Are we supposed to take more than what is in there? Xx

@Jademoroc so sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages! Fingers crossed for you that all goes well with this one, and congratulations 😊

Jademoroc · 20/01/2020 16:17

Thank you so much, just been to the docs and he hoping the midwife will contact me sooner but we’re see

Jademoroc · 20/01/2020 16:30

Does anyone have any suggestions? Basically when I was pregnant with my son I couldn’t take folic acid it made me so sick so I took nothing throughout my pregnancy No vitamins nothing, you wouldn’t believe his immune system it’s amazing, but I’m anaemic and need some sort of iron inside me for this pregnancy any ideas

LuckyWright · 20/01/2020 17:27

@LaurenL7 oh good point! I will check my pregnacare packaging when I'm home. Thank you!

Banbi · 20/01/2020 18:41

Thanks @mincedpea for the info on early scans.

And welcome to all of the newbies! Excited to be in this together!

Very uncomfortable at my desk at work today. Either the bloating has gone down a bit or I'm just so chuffed to have bought a few items of clothing a size up - yay, baggier jeans! But the acid reflux has got me but good. I hope everyone's had a good Monday Smile

mincedpea · 20/01/2020 21:17

@Booona19 Same on the early scan front, am excited but also really nervous about it all. Is this your first? It's our first, so a lot of new things for us.

@Jademoroc Does it help if you take the supplements with food? I find that helps me take them more easily. Or can you really keep nothing down at all? If so, does your GP suggest anything? I can only think of green leafy veg and red meat as iron sources, but there must be more!

@Banbi Sorry to hear about your acid reflux. Good call on the bigger jeans though! I heard on a podcast that you only need about 300 calories extra a day, but I am definitely going for the "eating for two" approach.

@georgiexo I haven't contacted the midwife yet, thanks for the reminder. I was waiting until 8 weeks but maybe I should have registered with them already?

georgiexo · 21/01/2020 07:07

@mincedpea yes there’s no reason to wait! No rules on how early to contact them. It says they aim to see you before 12 weeks so they’ll just work it out and book you in for then I guess. I’m super eager to have something booked in xxx

mincedpea · 21/01/2020 08:28

Thanks for the tip @georgiexo, I'll get on to it today then! It'll be good to have something booked in with them, if only so I don't forget!

Booona19 · 22/01/2020 12:31

@Mincedpea this will be baby number 3 for me all going well Smile how are you feeling now any new symptoms?

mincedpea · 22/01/2020 13:36

Hi @Booona19, baby number 3, congrats! Does it feel easier this time around? How old are your DCs and do they know yet?

No new symptoms for me, I am really keen for some to appear so I know things are going ok. How about you? Phoned the midwife centre today and got my booking in appointment for 8+2. Have you got yours sorted?

Loubell19 · 22/01/2020 16:31

Hey guys I'm 16dpo BFP this afternoon but been having cramps for the past 5 days each lasting between 2-20 mins happening couple of times a day. no bleeding.. but had a really severe cramp yesterday I just had to stop everything I was doing and take pain killers but went away after 5 mins and then checked my cervix and it had shot up.

Should I be worried or is this normal? Google seems to say yes and no lol so just wanted to see if anyone has had similar? X

OrDis · 22/01/2020 16:56

This might be TMI but for the past few days i’ve had a very upset tummy- but not nausea/vomitting- rather the other end 🙈. It comes and goes... anyone else experiencing “digestive discomfort”? I’m wondering if this is my version of morning sickness 🤣🤣 not sure which would be worse tbh lol

OrDis · 22/01/2020 16:58

I’m getting some cramps @Loubell19- although they are not that severe, more like little niggles, the kind I used to get when ovulating. I’d keep an eye on it and if they get really bad or really persistent maybe call the GP? It’s probably totally normal. Mine come and go, so one day i’ll have a few and then the next, nothing. Probably just the body stretching
