Hi girls!

Recently found out that I’m pregnant and based on my last period I think I should be 4 weeks today! Just wanted to start a thread to see if there’s anyone else who’s in the same boat?

I’m so excited but also extremely nervous about the thoughts of a miscarriage so just wanting to reach out to people who are at a similar stage :)

Thanks! Xx

@mimmi91 Haha I love all of your stats! Very reassuring 😊 It’s so easy to always think the worst with things isn’t it but I guess we need to try and do the opposite.

@debbs77 sorry to hear about your MMC but so happy to hear you’re confident about this little bean. It’s the best way to be for sure!

I’m so excited to tell everybody, although I must admit I couldn’t resist and told my mum. Think we’re going to plan a really nice way to tell the rest of the family though, I just need to think of something! Hopefully I’m not getting to ahead of myself but any ideas on what we could do?

@Crumbsinthecarpet congratulations on your BFP! I’m due on the 21st and cant see that changes too much as I’m 99% sure when I ovulated.

When I created this post I wasn’t expecting there to be so many ladies who were due around the same time; it’s lovely. Hopefully we can share our journeys together for the next 9 months 😊 xx

@LaurenL7 I am literally just trying to reassure myself haha! 😊

I'm going to tell my mum on Friday, I can't wait any longer!! Just hope my dad won't be disappointed when he learns that I told her first...

I THINK I'd like to break the news on my sister's birthday on the 2nd of Feb... (I'd be 7w by then...). But it's one of the only time that we'll all be together as a family, so that could be nice. And because she's turning 18, I'd love to give her (after her real one) a "present" which ends up being a T-Shirt with something like "world's best auntie" printed on it 😊

I wouldn't mind my close family knowing then, because even if things don't turn out well, they'll be able to support me (we're a very close family).

BUT if I do that, my DH will probably expect us to tell his family then too... and I wouldn't really want that...

Decisions decisions!!!!

PS : I love this thread, it's really nice to be able to write my feelings down, and to read that you all have very similar ones!!
PS2 : Please please please make time go by faster!!

Bumblelion20 · 15/01/2020 19:33

I'm also trying to decide when would be a good time to tell close family. On one hand I would love the support if anything went wrong but equally I know they would be so excited and don't want to get their hopes up too early! I think I'm gonna try and wait until after the 12w scan although pretty sure I will cave before then!

Has everyone already booked their booking visit? I was planning to wait until next week to do it. I just keep thinking about everything that can go wrong and I'm so scared to make any plans.

LaurenL7 · 15/01/2020 19:50

@mimmi91 I’m sure your dad won’t mind at all! He’ll probably be happy that you could confide in your mum and he’ll be so excited when he finds out that I’m sure the fact that you told your mum first will be the last thing on his mind. Lovely to tell your sister on her birthday. We also have a few February birthday’s in the family so are thinking about coinciding even though it’s early.

I’m trying to keep it secret from my nan but she’s definitely on to me already. She met her friend today who just happens to be a clairvoyant. That friend told her that kept seeing lots of children around her so my nan is now convinced I’m pregnant! Crazy I know! I tried to rubbish what she was saying but it has freaked me out a bit. Also, the fact that she said there were lots of children... hopefully I’m not pregnant with triplets 😂

@bumblelion20 I’ve booked my appointment for the 10th Feb to see the midwife. I’m also scared to plan things so totally understand you wanting to wait until next week. I figured I’d still feel the same worry next week, and the week after that and probably the week after that too, so I just went ahead 😊 xx

Hey,

I got my BFP today! 4weeks+2!!

I miscarried my last pregnancy so keeping everything crossed for this one.

Beth2806 · 15/01/2020 21:08

Hi all! I’m so glad I found this post! Thanks @LaurenL7 💕

Looks like there’s a few of us in the same boat! I am 4+6 weeks, 28 years old & conceived on our first cycle.

I’ve had cramps but no blood which I’m guessing is the implantation cramps, I am so on edge with it all. Dread every time I go to the toilet 🙈

Good Luck ladies! I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread and crossing fingers for us all xx

SleeepyyHead · 15/01/2020 21:50

Hi ladies, I'm 4+5. I'm feeling good so far most of the time. I was having quite a lot of cramps yesterday but things have calmed today.
It such a worrying time isn't it??

Crumbsinthecarpet · 15/01/2020 23:55

I feel like I shouldn't have already told pretty much all my family now haha 😅 we had a miscarriage October just gone and hadn't told most people about the pregnancy until after it was over, I only told my mum 2 days before I lost it, so this time I said I'd tell people straight away and also be super indulgent in the pregnancy like paying for private scans and having maternity photos taken!

Glad to hear that the cramps are normal, keep knicker checking for blood every time I go to the toilet!

cg86 · 16/01/2020 00:14

I just found out I'm 3+5 weeks! First attempt at TTC but honestly didn't think it was going to happen for me with PCOS. I thought I'd be happier but I'm honestly just worried because it's still so early! Have only told husband. Waiting a few more weeks before we tell parents I think.

Banbi · 16/01/2020 06:19

4 today and I just got my BFP! Excited, but also really nervous. 35 and been "not not trying" for a few months (came off the pill a year ago) but this was the first month using OPKs to time the BD. Didn't expect it to happen so soon! Thanks @LaurenL7 - great to have a little group on here.

mimmi91 · 16/01/2020 06:39

Welcome @Plattsy88 @Beth2806 @SleeepyyHead @cg86 and @Banbi !
You're in a safe space here :)

I had a massive down day yesterday / this morning, just because my cramping has subsided HAH! I'm so crazy. I guess it's because then I can't "feel" it. But it's obviously normal for cramping to come and go / disappear :P
Am 4+4 today. Can't believe how slowly time goes by. Am almost looking forward to nausea to hit (I'll probably kill my past self when it does for saying this lol), just to know that the pregnancy is coming along nicely. THIS IS SO HARD!!

Also my IC test wasn't much darker today, so that was disappointing. So then I also did my first Clearblue, and at least that line was nice and strong...

I think we need to start talking about more positive stuff on here, instead of our fears??

4 weeks pregnant :)
Carouselfish · 16/01/2020 06:46

Levels rising! Just waiting for it to be big enough to see on a scan. I've told my mum and dad who are both excited. And of course dp! And one lovely friend. Probably silly of me but feel all is fine. There are a lot of us here! I think Christmas mood did it!

Chanel05 · 16/01/2020 07:00

I got my 3+ weeks on clear blue digital today! 5+1 today! No more testing for me now.

Banbi · 16/01/2020 07:08

@mimmi91 Agree about being positive! Risk of going a bit crazy, otherwise...

I'm determined not to tell anyone other than dh yet, but I'm trying not to be superstitious. Bought some second hand pg books online and have started googling local prenatal yoga groups and other fun stuff for when (positive thinking!) I'm a bit further along. Planning to spend my evening after work on the Money Advice Service budgeting tool... I'm a project manager, and for me spreadsheets are fun Hmm

What are others up to to pass the time?

Banbi · 16/01/2020 08:23

Update on what I'm mostly filling my time with while the days go by: peeing. Ridiculously often. Gah.

Booked to see my GP on 21st... feeling real now.

mimmi91 · 16/01/2020 08:29

@Carouselfish well done for being optimistic! Some days I feel really positive too :P

@Banbi I would love to find prenatal yoga as well, but not sure if it exists here (I live outside of Paris in France)... To pass time I TRY as much as I can to stay focused at work, but that's not working very well. I am currently on mumsnet writing this during my working hours lol. I find the time at work the most difficult, because I'm not really enjoying it, and therefore daydream about the day I get to leave on maternity leave!! Time at home is much nicer, I cook, watch a lot of Netflix, and try to see friends. I'm going to go meet my friends' new puppy tomorrow night, so that'll be amazing (I'll thoroughly wash my hands afterwards though lol!!). I already know I'll tell her that I'm pregnant, because she's a midwife. I'm hoping she'll be able to hook me up with an early scan or something!!!!

I also really love daydreaming about buying maternity clothes. It feels much less far away than thinking about baby Grin
I'm going to a wedding in June, and am already fantisising about being able to show off my baby bump, and what dress I'll buy in the maternity section hih.

PS : I'm trying to be optimistic/ here!!!! Wink

mincedpea · 16/01/2020 08:48

Hi ladies, got my first ever BFP yesterday and treated myself to a browse of the pregnancy boards. Great to see this thread - I am 4+4 today and both excited and scared, so it's nice to have some people to share it all with.

We are having an IVF baby and this is our second round, so I will be having bloods today and have my early scan booked for three weeks time to check all is OK. I'm 36 and it's taken a while to get us here, hence being cautious. Like lots of you, I am really keen to tell my Mum, especially as my parents normally go away in September and I don't want them to miss seeing their first grandchild/grandchildren (we transferred two embryos, won't know for a few weeks whether one or both stuck). But we have decided to try and keep quiet until 12 weeks 🙊...it's going to be tricky!

Hope everyone else is doing OK today!

Leadust92 · 16/01/2020 09:23

Hi all,

I got my BFP yesterday! 4+1 :) so lovely to have a thread where everyone is close in timing! I have mild cramps/twinges but sometimes I think I'm imagining it! Haha.. no other symptoms yet. I was ravenous last week before I found out but now I seem to have lost my appetite! Think it could be with the excitement. This is my first. Got married in August and been off the pill since September so lovely next chapter for us. :)

Banbi · 16/01/2020 11:07

Welcome @mincedpea and @Leadust92 Grin

I also have no idea how many of my aches (quite a few twinges!) are my imagination, how much is pg related and how much is just the normal woes of spending too much of my life at a desk!

Thanks @mincedpea for mentioning your mum's holiday. Reminded me that my lovely mum is also planning a trip she hasn't booked yet so will have to figure out what / when to tell her soon.

Bubble29 · 16/01/2020 11:24

We are all so close in dates!

I really want to tell my parents too. As some above mentioned, if anything was to go wrong then I'd like to have their support.

The days are going so slowly! I've also 3 friends who are between 14-17 weeks and they've all said the same too, it's like time and stopped!

Harri87 · 16/01/2020 11:41

@mimmi91 @booona19 @Bubble29

Thanks for your replies!

Yeah I know, I think it's just come as a bit of a shock, I'll ask my doctor about getting a hgc test though!

LaurenL7 · 16/01/2020 12:27

We are all so so close with dates it's crazy! Congratulations on your BFP's newbies 😊

I found out a week ago yesterday and am only 4+3 today but it seems like I've known forever. It makes it so much harder that it's a secret, I just want to tell everybody who will listen but can't haha.

I think I'm going to have to tell the girls at work soon though as they'll 100% know something is going on when I'm not drinking at the many social events we have to attend as part of our job. We've all guessed almost immediately when anyone else has been pregnant so I just know they'll know.

Is anybody else suffering with the worst tiredness? I have a desk job and honestly the days are going soooo slow, it's almost unbearable. I'm constantly thinking how tired I am but it's not like I can drink coffee after coffee to perk me up. Despite being tired, I'm wide awake at night, it's so annoying! Xx

OP posts:
mimmi91 · 16/01/2020 12:40

@LaurenL7 I know, I also have a desk job, and time at work is the WORST!! All I do is obsess and keep going on mumsnet lol. Doesn't help that I don't really enjoy my job, and that it's quite boring.
I also feel really tired, but am 99% sure it's due to lack of coffee. I do sleep really well at night though ; in fact I fall asleep super early in front of the TV (my husband is away during weekdays, so I literally just watch some TV after dinner and... doink, asleep!).

It's great that we're so close in dates, it means we'll reach our milestones together! Am already looking forward to the 5w milestone! (but only 4+4 today lol). I guess we'll also all have our first doctor/midwife appts around the same time :) Is the first scan in the UK also at 12w?

Am wondering if I should start writing a diary, because I find that it really helps writing things down!! Plus if I do it at work, maybe time can pass a bit quicker hihi

SleeepyyHead · 16/01/2020 17:18

How we all doing today ladies?
Apart from being tired I kind of feel 'normal'? Not really had any cramps today, I'm 4+6 today.

sportyfanatic · 16/01/2020 17:25

Hope it's alright to join!
I'm 5 wks +2 today, due mid September after 9 cycles of TTC. We are both so excited!! Sounds like I'm similar to many others, had a lot of cramping on odd days, and I felt so sad as I though my AF was arriving, but no - turned out to be a positive pregnancy test instead!
