MerlinsBeard · 29/08/2007 16:47

am having a wobbly day myself MrsMcJnr, am 11 weeks today so a huge milestone for me to get here with no bleeding. Am clinging to my symptoms and willing the scan to come quickly so i can start enjoying things properly. i am going to need to start telling everyone soon as it getting hard to hide!

MrsMcJnr · 29/08/2007 16:51

MOM ? we?ll all be fine we?ll get each other through ? so pleased things are going well. Hang in there hon x

Ejt ? maybe I am destined to invent a new type of birthing pool with waves to ride out the contractions!

MerlinsBeard · 29/08/2007 17:01

well, i don't actually know things are going well! I am hoping so (obv!) as i am getting bigger which surely means things are growing.

I would know about ectopic by now wouldn't i?

spugs · 29/08/2007 18:19

hiya mum, i think an eptopic would have made itself well and truly known by now! im the same as you and ive got mixed feelings towardds my 12 wk scan, part of me is excited as (hopefully) we'll get to see our baby (have named it the maggot for some bizarre reason even i dont understand ) but on the other hand im absolutly terrified that they'll tell me it died weeks ago . it doesnt help that my ms hasn't been as bad as with dd2 and things seem to be settling down now!

hello to everyone else

fettleandminifettle · 29/08/2007 18:28

Spugs - try not to worry while there is nothing you can do about it. I didn't feel anywhere nearly as badly sick with this pg, as I did with either mc or while pregnant with DD, so sickness isn't really a factor.

Got to go - DD is crying!
xxxf

fettleandminifettle · 29/08/2007 18:39

Sorry that was a bit abrupt - we were trying to put a sleeping DD straight into bed from the car asleep, which has worked before whenever we tried it, but this evening she's woken up wanting supper, which is fair enough I suppose!

Meant to also say, that it's easier said than done to say don't worry - we all do it and in fact I'm still doing it. I do hope all those with scans coming up do have good news - everything crossed for you all.

Ejt - like Grande Dame Violette! Very foreign sounding!!

xxx

Feedmenow · 29/08/2007 18:46

Healthy and well, healthy and well, healthy and well. People will hear me muttering that under my breath and wonder what the hell I'm on about! Mrsmc, you and your lo will be fine - it IS awful when things like that happen, but thankfully those situations are so very, very few and far between (can you please remind me of exactly this in about 10 weeks time!)
Well, I am very pleased today! I emailed my SIL to tell her I'm pg (not the SIL I've mentioned before who has already been doing some wonderful things for me) and, when I probed a little, found out that she too is pg!! A couple of weeks behind me with their first. She is nervous and is hoping for an early scan, so fingers crossed for her. I find it really exciting that we'll be pg and due at roughly the same time! But I also feel a little nervous about it incase something goes wrong for one of us, and the other would have that constant reminder, IYSWIM. But healthy and well, healthy and well!!!
Apart from that, have been doing a bit of double bluffing myself today - am starting to feel more relaxed but then immediately start to worry incase I am relaxing too soon, and assuming that just cos I had a good scan last week that everything is still fine. I just keep quietly telling myself that a good scan at 9+5 is a fantastic milestone and that risks of things going wrong must be well down. Healthy and well, healthy and well.
MOM and Spugs, you may have said before but when have you got your 12 weeks scans?

Feedmenow · 29/08/2007 18:49

P.S. ejt, love the lady lotion thing! Even if it wasn't originally yours it is yours as far as I am concerned! Most definately preferable to cervical mucous!!!!
Just out of interest, what do you all call your bits?
To my children it is "bits".
With my mates I would say "vag"!!

EllieG · 29/08/2007 20:00

'Bits' to DSD. Mates - Millie, fanny, minge etc - they get worse depending on levels of drink involved. Not that there's any of that these days
Lovin 'lady lotion' too - so much less medical than mucus!

Jossiejump · 29/08/2007 21:34

Hi Glimmer-good to know you're ok. I keep getting scared on odd occasions (such as the weekend,) when I ordered my newborn grobags, thinking am I tempting fate by ordering these so I can sympathise about you not relaxing.
Mrs Mcjnr-how's the injecting going? I don't seem to be bruising as much.
Had my GTT yesterday-am expecting a call, bot about diabetes, but about iron levels as needed a supplement with DS 1&2, and am feeling really run down now. (But could be because the boys are on holiday from school, so I don't have time to "veg out")
Have decided to take the bull by the horns and add myself on the list of due dates on this thread (something I hadn't done for fear of tempting fate as well)

Jossiejump · 29/08/2007 21:37

Thought there was a list on here-can't fins it!!
I'm hopeless with baby brain!!

Bouncingturtle · 29/08/2007 21:41

Evening all

Sad news about Karma, hope she is okay .

EllieG only natural to have such dream, have had similar. I find that my pg dreams are more vivid - other night had dream that dh had left me after I found out I was pg, even though he really wanted baby. I had just had my scan and tried to contact dh and he didn't answer phone and I felt so alone I was reallt upset when I woke up and required much comforting from DH.
Your poor dsd too, sounds like she is very lucky to have you. How old is she?

Mumpbump · 30/08/2007 09:19

Quite excited today. I have a m/w appointment this afternoon and have a sneaky suspicion that she might say the baby is engaged. It is SO low and really quite painful at times when I'm doing my 25 minute walk from the station to the office and back. Also, we'll be booking her visit to come and do a risk assessment on our house for the home birth! Makes it all seem so much more real...

Re: worrying, I don't think it goes away for ages. Pg after m/c is definitely a LONG haul. I remember being very nervous still at my 22 week scan and it's only really since I got to 30 weeks or so and have started counting down, instead of counting up, that I have really relaxed. But I think the worry is definitely most overwhelming in those first 12 weeks or so...

If we're picking colours, can I be Grande Dame Azure??

VictorVictoria · 30/08/2007 09:32

Morning all

Scan this afternoon (18 weeks - am having one at 22 weeks as well). Terrified. As usual. Apart from one movement 2 weeks ago have not felt baby move yet although did hear heartbeat last week.

Mumpbump · 30/08/2007 09:38

VV - I can't remember for sure, but I think this is your first pg, isn't it? I didn't feel ds until around 19/20 weeks and even then, it was really faint. One of my friends told me to lie down on my bed and be really still and see if I could feel anything. It was like the nervous twitch that you sometimes get around your eye, iykwim. So don't worry that you can't feel the baby move at this stage.

VictorVictoria · 30/08/2007 10:12

Mumpbump its actually my second one that's gone into the second trimester. Have DS 2.2. Didn't feel him till 19-20 weeks.

am just a bundle of paranoia!

MerlinsBeard · 30/08/2007 10:19

VV..it may be that your baby is kicking the placenta so any kicks are softer than usual at the moment. either that or s/he is so confy in there that there is no need to kick you just yet

FMN,..my 12 week scan date hasn't come thru yet but MW said likely to be 13 weeks. she is trying to pull it forward but with DS1 starting school next week its actualy easier al round if its that week anyway.

VictorVictoria · 30/08/2007 10:22

Can I just say that you are all so supportive and lovely. It sometimes seems as though I just come on here to whinge and moan!!!

becklespeckle · 30/08/2007 11:14

Karma - so sorry to hear your news, I hope the next scan brings good news for you. If it doesn't then it would be worth asking to be referred for investigation even if you are not sure you are up to trying again. How you feel now and how you may feel in a couple of months may be different and at least the ball will be rolling. Good luck hun and let us know how you get on xxx
VV - 18 weeks! Good luck with your scan this afternoon! I agree that everyone on here is lovely, I could not have got through the first couple of months without you all!
Hi everyone else! Hope you are all okay x
