Hi has anyone had inflammatory arthritis in this pregnancy or previous pregnancies? I have just been diagnosed with it but the rheumatology consultant can not pin point what’s triggered it! I’ve never had any health problems before so this is completely out the blue. Anyone with any experience or suggestions with be greatly received.

emmaclare83 · 06/09/2019 09:24

Hey there! Can I join this thread? First time Mumsnetter and first time mum-to-be Smile. Baby due March 29th 2020 (I think...dating scan is next Friday). xxx

lucy2274xx · 06/09/2019 09:37

SLT90 · 06/09/2019 09:39

Lovely scan pics everyone!!! Glad they went well.
Mine is this afternoon and I can't think about anything else this morning!

MunchyMunchkin · 06/09/2019 09:39

Welcome @emmaclare83 and lovely scan @lucy2274xx

ineedanotherholiday · 06/09/2019 10:04

Just checking in as it's been a while so catching up! Lovely scan photos.

Work has been super busy lately and been travelling a bit but atleast it means time is going quite fast.

Finally have my booking in appointment on Monday when I'll be 10+6, hoping to get a scan in for the following week. Just counting down the days. Nausea still going strong!

emmaclare83 · 06/09/2019 10:26

Has anyone had experience with consultant-led care in pregnancy due to a previous LLETZ procedure? I'm due to have my dating scan and a consultant appointment on the same day, Friday 13th September. Trying not to worry about either, but my symptoms have dropped off and I'm concerned that my previous LLETZ (which involved a deep incision to my cervix) might cause problems. I just wanted to see if anyone had any words of wisdom!

MunchyMunchkin · 06/09/2019 10:38

@emmaclare83 it will just be to review the notes from your lletz and decide if you need any extra monitoring. Sometimes they check cervix length on a scan.

emmaclare83 · 06/09/2019 10:44

@MunchyMunchkin thanks so much Smile

threegreensheep · 06/09/2019 13:39

@emmaclare83 yes, as below. Our hosp now only sees people who have had 2 x LLETZ or one very recently. You may be seen in pre term labour clinic or similar if they have one, as it slightly increases your risk or esrly labour due to weakened cervix. So they may do cervical length scans which help predict early labour. If all well at 28 weeks ish they will discharge you back to normal care. Most women are fine though!

Charly82 · 06/09/2019 13:44

Yes I had a LLETZ and will need a stitch after 24 weeks, most of my cervix is quite short

Yvonne1988 · 06/09/2019 15:07

I hate my job so much I'm thinking of taking my maternity as soon as I'm able. I'm not going back after and I'm only entitled to maternity allowance. My boss tried telling me I have to wait til I'm 36 weeks but I'm pretty sure I can take it from 29 weeks.

Dinosauraddict · 06/09/2019 19:31

@Yvonne1988 we can take ours from 29 weeks, not sure if that's the same everywhere?

Sorry if I should know this, but what's an LLETZ?

emmaclare83 · 06/09/2019 21:16

@Yvonne1988 It’s a procedure to get rid of abnormal cells in the cervix. Smile

Thanks everyone for your responses on this- feel a bit calmer about it all now!

Jesskir89 · 06/09/2019 23:24

Thanks @satsumasaturday and @emmaclare83 I'm under the same as you and my scan is also Friday so I'll find more then I guess but I was also told pos need a stitch. @Dinosauraddict I had pre cancerous cells lasered off following an abnormal smear

Yvonne1988 · 06/09/2019 23:52

@dinosauraddict I'll ask at my next appointment I didn't see anything about it being different in scotland

MunchyMunchkin · 07/09/2019 08:33

@Yvonne1988 check out the site maternity action - everything you need to know and where you stand legally. Its 29 weeks in the uk.

Yvonne1988 · 07/09/2019 10:12

She won't even do a risk assessment. So I'm out of there asap

Dinosauraddict · 07/09/2019 11:09

Sorry to everyone that had to have abnormal cells removed. That sounds scary.

Yvonne1988 · 07/09/2019 11:28

I'm 12 weeks today. I am so ready to tell people but still 9 days til my scan. Got my first ever pair of maternity jeans. Wow. I seem to ha e doubled in size in the last few days

emmaclare83 · 07/09/2019 12:03

@Yvonne1988 me too! I’ve been told H&M maternity leggings and skinny jeans are excellent, I just can’t get comfy in regular jeans anymore!!!

Yvonne1988 · 07/09/2019 12:10

@emmaclare83 I got mine from Asda only 6 quid in the sale. Could have gone a size smaller though they're a bit baggy on the knee but gives me room lol
