@ineedanotherholiday I use the app pregnancy+ and it's really good! It gives you daily updates and shows you how big the baby is ☺️ it also has a helpful hints for partners so they know how to treat us during the sickness and what they can do to help ☺️

avocadoincident · 31/08/2019 18:58

@Dinosauraddict
It's like Mab Lee

avocadoincident · 31/08/2019 18:59

@Dinosauraddict and it means loveable

Dinosauraddict · 31/08/2019 20:20

That's beautiful @avocadoincident!

MunchyMunchkin · 31/08/2019 20:46

Just catching up.

Welcome to the newbies - we also have a Facebook group. Pm if you want to join.

@Sarah873 do you vitamins contain iron? That’s known to trigger nausea so you may be better switching to just folic acid and vitamin d which are the only essentials and you can take the multi ones once the sickness passes.

I’m feeling much better overall, exhaustion long gone and nausea still present but settling a little bit more everyday. Now 13+4 and was definitely better by week 16 in my first pregnancy.
More excitingly we found out the sex of the baby - it’s a boy! I was shocked, DD is happy and DH not fussed either way. Feels very odd knowing at this early stage (had a private nipty).

Jesskir89 · 31/08/2019 21:36

Just catching up from grand canaria :) welcome new ladies. Lovely scan @DaniX91. @munchymunchkin congrats! My dh says he doesn't want to find out the sex but I really do....

Sarah873 · 31/08/2019 21:55

@Naylor19 I haven't been taking it with food in the last couple of weeks in the desperate attempt to keep food down. But did read that having it with juice or something strong flavoured may help mask it's taste.

@MunchyMunchkin I'll have to double check, but that interesting! Definately now have some good alternatives to check out in the next few days Flowers

MunchyMunchkin · 31/08/2019 22:19

@Jesskir89 my feeling was always my uterus my choice! We had a surprise first time round but wanted to be more prepared this time.

Naylor19 · 31/08/2019 22:21

@Sarah873 I usually take it with a glass of apple juice and that masks the taste pretty well! I did notice when I switched to the multi one pregnacare it made me more nauseous than when I had been taking just folic acid as a supplement.

Sarah873 · 31/08/2019 23:04

@Naylor19 that's a good idea. I took tonight's with squash and felt like an absolute hero haha Grin fingers crossed!

Yvonne1988 · 01/09/2019 08:21

Woke up at 6 instead of half 4 today so I feel good. September is the start of my fave time of year. 15 days til my scan. 18 days til my birthday. And got an overnight trip to glasgow coming up. I think my bloating is going down a bit. And I can brush my teeth without heaving.
I haven't seen my partner for over 2 weeks I just have to get to Wednesday and I will see him. Date night to the cinema on Friday to see IT.

Dinosauraddict · 01/09/2019 08:55

Wow @MunchyMunchkin a boy. That's amazing, congratulations!
@Jesskir89 how was your holiday?

SLT90 · 01/09/2019 13:28

Haven't been on here for a few days so just catching up!

Having a generally good time at the moment! Maybe I'm reaching the 'good bit' of pregnancy 😂 Yesterday my mum stopped me when I walked past her and was all pleased saying she has noticed I'm getting a little bump.

After me feeling that DH has been very unsupportive and uninterested in the pregnancy so far, this has taken a little turn and he has become quite caring over the course of this weekend. Today we went for a run and instead of sprinting on he stayed with me and helped me get the distance I wanted to. He isn't brushing my symptoms off anymore and seems to actually be taking them seriously. And he said to me today that he thinks I have coped so well with pregnancy so far and haven't seemed to let the sickness or exhaustion hold me back. Which was just really nice to hear! I feel like he is finally respecting what is happening to me, and I'm not sure what caused that shift. Now really looking forward to our first scan on Friday 😊

Sorry for the essay!

How is everyone else doing? Can't believe the first trimester is almost over for most of us

MunchyMunchkin · 01/09/2019 13:48

Great news on your DH @SLT90 I think sometimes they take a while to come round. My friends husband was the same!

My uterus seems to have shifted forward over night and made a little bump. It’s still mostly flabby but I look pregnant in clothes. I wasn’t ready for this yet!

blondie87 · 01/09/2019 14:40

Hey ladies! Got back from holiday at 4 this morning so I’m shattered. Had an amazing time so can’t complain! I’ve not had a chance to catch up with the thread but I hope all those who had scans had positive experiences!

Jesskir89 · 01/09/2019 20:39

@MunchyMunchkin good point lol he doesn't mind me knowing but I know I will be decorating etc blue or pink if I know so he will then find out. @Dinosauraddict were still here until Saturday it's nice to relax but also crap being in the sun all day and pregnant and also not having a beer lol

satsumasaturday · 02/09/2019 08:02

Scan day for me today, I'm a combination of very nervous and excited! Anyone else having their scans today?

ELW85 · 02/09/2019 08:41

@satsumasaturday - good luck for today! Mine is next Friday and I’m nervous already. I’m sure it’ll all be fine and you’ll be so happy to see little one!

blondie87 · 02/09/2019 08:52

All the best @satsumasaturday!

Yvonne1988 · 02/09/2019 09:03

2 weeks today til mine. This week will fly. But next week definitely won't.

MunchyMunchkin · 02/09/2019 09:38

Good luck @satsumasaturday

MockingJay27 · 02/09/2019 09:52

Good luck @satsumasaturday, I have mine next Thursday when I should be 12+3, very eager to get out of the 1st trimester

oksim · 02/09/2019 11:31

Just catching up on the thread! Lovely scans!! And good luck to the others!
We had ours last week all was good, but I cannot stop vomiting still. I've taken today off work, which has made me feel so guilty it's rubbish!! I was hoping that it would end! 13 +1 today, holiday next week not sure if I'm excited or anxious!
Hope you girls are all well xxxx

satsumasaturday · 02/09/2019 13:17

Thanks for the good wishes everyone, getting more nervous now and uncomfortable as I just drank all my water in one go!
Sorry to hear you are feeling bad @oksim, at 13+1 fingers crossed the sickness lifts for you soon

FlipKat · 02/09/2019 15:17

Good luck for everyone who is having their scans today!

I had a private scan + Harmony test done today. By my IVF dates, I should be 10+3 but the baby is measuring big at 11+1. Apparently it looks totally normal just is growing fast! My new due date is 22/3/20.

They've said the Harmony results should be back in 5-10 days which I'm hoping will before my NHS scan which is next Tuesday....due to be old (40!) I'm pretty sure the NHS screening is going to tell us we are high risk so I'd like to know the more reliable Harmony results before I start panicking! Has anyone else done Harmony or one of the other NIPTs?
