@DerbyshireGirly thanks, I've heard that too. I'm not 100% sure when that is though I've heard 10 and 12 weeks and this morning in my frantic google I read can fall from 8 weeks. I'm 8+5, anyone know?

Yvonne1988 · 25/08/2019 12:11

@barnyb I do try not to nap but now that my daughter is back in school I can during the week.. it also makes the day go a bit quicker. I'm only working in the morning tomorrow so I'll probably come back for a sleep

barnyb · 25/08/2019 12:58

@Yvonne1988 why do you try not to nap? because you can't? I can't function if I don't have a nap. Obviously the days I work I can't nap but when I'm not working I have to sleep! My baby is literally sucking the life out of me. I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and I thought I'd be feeling better by now 😲

Yvonne1988 · 25/08/2019 13:26

@barnyb well if I sleep too much in the day makes it harder at night. If daughter is around I feel guilty.

DerbyshireGirly · 25/08/2019 15:21

@ineedanotherholiday I found really varying answers online ranging from 8 weeks, 10 to 12 weeks and even 20 weeks. I found my symptoms massively reduced around 8.5 weeks and I've seen lots of other ladies say that too so try not to worry!

ineedanotherholiday · 25/08/2019 15:23

Thanks @DerbyshireGirly that's really helped! Feeling pretty sickly now so feeling slightly better haha!

Ginandtonic31 · 25/08/2019 16:35

@ineedanotherholiday my symptoms disappeared about 8 weeks and I'm now 11 weeks and still without them. I've had two scans since due to bleeding and both times it's been fine. So I'm now just appreciating how lucky I am to continue as normal and be ok at work.

barnyb · 25/08/2019 18:40

@Yvonne1988 ah ok that makes sense :) xx

barnyb · 25/08/2019 18:43

@ineedanotherholiday hello. Mine have pretty awful for most of the pregnancy. However at certain times I have the odd two days of feeling amazing and then all of sudden it's back!
Like yesterday. I was really sickly and very tired! I had to have two naps yesterday in the day because I was feeling so ill!!! and today could not be any more different ! I haven't been sickly at all and I haven't had one nap?!
Everyone is different and it's can really go up and down at any time! ❤️❤️

Jesskir89 · 25/08/2019 22:36

@ineedanotherholiday I've had no symptoms for a couple of week and I'm 10+2 now. Try not to worry I'm sure everything's fine. I know it's difficult with past experience but just think 'this is my time now' this is what I've been trying to do x

Hope2020 · 26/08/2019 10:22

Has anyone else not had any kind of scan yet? I'm 11+4 and anxiously waiting for 12 week scan letter to come through. I will be consultant led and have my first appointment on Thursday when I'll be 12 weeks and not sure if I'll get a scan there.

Also don't want to find out the sex, just hoping and praying all is well at the moment.

ttc19 · 26/08/2019 10:55

Hi @Hope2020! I'm 11+2 and have only had a booking in appointment. I'm consultant led too as my last birth didn't go to plan and baby was 9lb15 which went unnoticed until I couldn't get her out!

Still waiting for a scan date too x

ineedanotherholiday · 26/08/2019 11:02

@Ginandtonic31 @barnyb @Jesskir89 thanks ladies, reading those helped. I feel a lot better today, that was my first proper wobble and I'm 9 weeks tomorrow so don't feel that's too terrible, ha!

Hoping to have my booking in appointment soon, I think I might be consultant led also, do you generally find out after your first booking in appt if you are?

At my last appointment last preg the midwife mentioned I prob would be but then I mc unfortunately so didn't get any further.

Ginandtonic31 · 26/08/2019 11:12

@ineedanotherholiday I was told st my booking in appointment I would be consultant led. Or perhaps I asked. Mainly because I am IVF but they said I would be anyway because I'm down as having PCOS. just ask them.

CornishMaid1 · 26/08/2019 13:40

@ineedanotherholiday I was told I'm being consultant led at my booking in appointment. In my maternity notes there were a number of checklists that go through and if you ended up with certain conditions you were automatically consultant led. I have a higher BMI (anything over 30 here) and pre-existing high blood pressure so I'm classed as high risk.

ineedanotherholiday · 26/08/2019 13:50

Ah ok thanks ladies. She mentioned last time she would refer me to see as she thought I may be but now this time I'm under a consultant anyway for recurrent mc so I'll see what she says at the appointment.

Jesskir89 · 26/08/2019 13:56

@ineedanotherholiday my doctor told me because I was 16 weeks last time when I lost baby they want to keep a closer eye on me

Jesskir89 · 26/08/2019 13:56

Glad you're feeling better today x

barnyb · 26/08/2019 14:13

@ineedanotherholiday yes the midwife will tell you if you are. I was too because of my past history and also I was having testing done before I fell pregnant. Basically the consultant said hello I hear you've had (bla bla bla..) everything is looking good so far don't think I need to monitor as all seems ok. And that was it. Don't have to see him again! Think it depends what the reasoning is that you have to see him. I'm back with the midwife now. Also my sister in law has had two boys in the last 5 years and she said her symptoms didn't start until 8 weeks with both. But mine started at 4 weeks! Xxxx

SLT90 · 26/08/2019 14:49

@Hope2020
I'm 10+4 and have had no appointments or scan as yet. My booking appt and scan are being done together on Fri 6th so not too long to go. I was pretty stress free until lately, but the more time that passes the more I worry that I'm going to find that its MMC! I've tried not to get tempted by early scans as felt that the norm is to wait until 12 weeks. Now I feel it's too close to that date to book one as I may as well just wait it out. My sicky symptoms eased a good bit at about 8 weeks and I've just had 2 bad days since then. My little 'bump' has grown from last week to this week in the photos ive taken so I really hope all is well 🤞
Hoping you get your scan on Thursday so you have some peace of mind too! At least that's just a few days away. How have you been?

threegreensheep · 26/08/2019 17:31

Hope everyone is enjoying/surviving the BH sunshine. We've supposed to be packing but I'm currently hiding from my toddler and sitting still as otherwise I think I'll vomit! 5-6pm is always a bad time for me.
@ineedanotherholiday yes they will tell you at your booking
Most women have 'shared care' ie both midwife and doctor unless you are all low risk (midwifery led care/MLC) or have a preexisting condition such as diabetes heart disease etc then you will have specialist hospital care. But risk assessment is done all through pregnancy, some women see the Dr lots others only once or twice.

AnxiousandExcited · 26/08/2019 20:40

Hello everyone I'm back from a two week break and i can't believe i'm almost 12 weeks. Started telling people etc. as i am beginning to show quite obviously (third pregnancy).
The exhaustion is worse but the nausea is getting better, though i have been travel sick which isn't usual for me :(
My two boys (age 4 and almost 3) go back to school in a week, and I get back to work. Not particularly looking forward to losing my easy mornings!

Brandygirl27 · 27/08/2019 06:42

Hey ladies how is everyone ? I’ve not been on here for over a week as went on my little holiday with the kids and I’ve come back with what started as a tickly cough but has Turned into a horrible cold 😩 nothing worse when you can’t rake much for it either 😥😥😥hoping it does one soon, 14 weeks tomorrow, I got my downs through and I’m low risk woooop!!! 😍however I’m having more scans again at 28, 32 and 36 weeks so at least I get to see my baby more 😍😍😍xx

DerbyshireGirly · 27/08/2019 08:24

Bit of a moan here but is anybody else just really...sore? Feel like somebody's been doing somersaults on my uterus and like my boobs are about to fall off. I'm also full of gas (and probably worse) that just isn't going anywhere which isn't helping. Sorry, moan over lol.

SLT90 · 27/08/2019 10:11

@DerbyshireGirly I definitely know the feeling! Didn't sleep a wink last night for the first time in ages due to all of the above and also a bit of hip pain when on my side, so not in good form today at all. Definitely going straight to bed for an hour or 2 after work!! Its keeping me motivated!!! You are completely allowed to have a moan!

On another note, I'm back to my normal term time office today now that summer is over and because my manager guessed my news, I'm now paranoid people are looking at my stomach and figuring it out. Trying more than ever not to 'act pregnant' 😂😂
