@barnyb the gender result is sat in my email inbox. Planning on waiting a few more weeks before finding out. Crazy I know.

In terms of prams I had a midrange (£4-500) cossato giggle. Had all the features I wanted, brilliant in town, easy to push one handed and corners like a dream. It will do really well for the new baby as well. Could not justify something like an uppababy which although lovely are crazy expensive. Also takes up more room extra.
Consider what’s most important to you and go from there. Plus test them out!
Also I think it’s quite common for the grandparents to buy/contribute towards the pram. Mine paid for mine outright but my sister had an I candy (which I personally hate) and she had to pay the extra!

Dinosauraddict · 23/08/2019 11:16

@barnyb I've settled on the iCandy Peach, absolutely adore it. Big shopping basket underneath, nice and sturdy, easy to push in all directions, and looks great imo. My Mum is buying it with all the kit for us though.

barnyb · 23/08/2019 11:24

@MunchyMunchkin wow I couldn't wait to find out especially if you have the results there and waiting !!!! 🙈🤩

Yes I have actually got my eye on one of the cosatto prams as a back up. ! But it's a girl print so will only do for a little girly. I have had offers of help from some of our family but I definitely won't be asking for lots of money. I really don't like taking money from family. We pretty much paid for all of our wedding too! lol maybe just a bouncer or a play Matt type gift from them will be fine 🙃

avocadoincident · 23/08/2019 11:29

@barnyb have you considered buying the one you want but second hand from marketplace? I paid £120 for my dream pram that was £1000 and still current stock. It was immaculate and barely used.
My friends who bought new but cheaper prams have had problems with wheels and brakes. But quality lasts

MunchyMunchkin · 23/08/2019 11:30

@barnyb I figured better to accept a pram, carrier etc than have extra clothes and cuddly toys!

Cossato always has nice unisex prints. We got moonwood which is black grey white and yellow. Got so many compliments.

Update:

17: finding out sex
5: not finding out sex
2 undecided

KatyH88 · 23/08/2019 11:43

Hi I’m a bit late to this thread but I’m due 19th March, can I join?

barnyb · 23/08/2019 11:44

@MunchyMunchkin yes all the prints are fab on the website! Il keep an open mind! 🙂
@avocadoincident I have been keeping an eye out on eBay etc too ! but some of them are filthy and it does put me off! Xx

MunchyMunchkin · 23/08/2019 11:47

@KatyH88 of course. Welcome!

Yvonne1988 · 23/08/2019 11:48

Booking appt done. Still doesnt feel real lol

Yvonne1988 · 23/08/2019 11:50

The app has updated now though which is looking good. Got a timeline and all my info and I can check my results on there.
Still miss the green book though

Jesskir89 · 23/08/2019 12:28

@Keyboard91 fair enough haha

SLT90 · 23/08/2019 12:56

I've just told my manager about the pregnancy because I will have to take about 3 hours out of work to get my booking in and scan all in one go and I couldn't think of any other appt that would be as long as that!! Also didn't want book a half day of leave when I know I'm entitled to time out for appointments.
She hasn't seen me all summer until this morning and when I told her she said she had already guessed!
Must be my spotty face, ill fitting bra and slightly podgy tummy giving me away 😂😂😂

CornishMaid1 · 23/08/2019 13:49

We're another for not finding out the sex. DH wants the surprise.

I can't stop looking at prams either - it is just so difficult! I am going between a Cosatto Wow and either a Silver Cross Wave or a Silver Cross Pioneer. We are not worried about the size (big car and space in the house for it), but we need one that is good for all terrain as we have lots of cobbles and country roads. Most of the reviews focus on how good prams are in the city, so it is difficult to know what one is best.

Bex240 · 23/08/2019 14:21

Hi everyone. I've been lurking on all three of the incarnations of this chat, but always felt to scared to write anything myself.

Decided it was finally time to commit this pregnancy to writing! I am 11+3 today. I have my scan on Tuesday, which will be dead on 12 weeks. Alternating emotions between dread that something will be wrong and pure excitement!

Jesskir89 · 23/08/2019 14:27

@Keyboard91 fair play!

Yvonne1988 · 23/08/2019 14:44

I haven't even started at looking at things to buy. Waited until after 20 weeks last time. My fave ever pram last time was the mamas and papas sola. I can't be doing with these full on systems lol so expensive. This one you can have facing away or towards you. Used to be able to get it in all sorts of patterns

Dinosauraddict · 23/08/2019 15:10

Welcome @KatyH88 and @Bex240 !

@Yvonne1988 it's probably because it's our first (and will be only) and we're super excited/organised people but today our cotbed and changing table arrived, our nursery is really getting there!

DerbyshireGirly · 23/08/2019 15:46

@CornishMaid1 another country girl here, I've heard the Pioneer is much better for uneven terrain. Silver Cross have an eBay outlet which has some really good deals too.

avocadoincident · 23/08/2019 16:13

@barnyb oh yeah I'd never buy a dirty one and even the pristine one I striped and washed everything.

There are bargains to be had and new things cropping up all the time. There's soooo much time yet before you need one so don't rush in

avocadoincident · 23/08/2019 16:20

@CornishMaid1 I can thoroughly recommend the Silvercross Wayfarer which I might be wrong but think is the one up from Pioneer. It has two big wheels and when I googled the Pioneer it came up on MN someone saying go for a Wayfarer instead so I did.
Not sure if you saw my post earlier but I bought a limited edition one for £120 from Facebook Marketplace when it was current John Lewis stock at the time for £1000 and it was in pristine condition. There's a massive shopping basket and everyone remarks what a lovely (non slumped) seating position the baby sits in when it moves up into the pushchair bit. It's sturdy and reliable and gorgeous!

avocadoincident · 23/08/2019 16:22

@CornishMaid1 I'm completely wrong It's the Pioneer we have which has the big wheels and @DerbyshireGirly is completely right it's great

CornishMaid1 · 23/08/2019 17:22

@DerbyshireGirly That's great. I will check out their outlet.

@avocadoincident Thank you for that. It would be between the Pioneer and the Wave as they are the two with the big back wheels. I may have to check out the Facebook Marketplace too (although very excited MIL is buying it as it is the only grandchild she will get and she has been waiting long enough!).

@Yvonne1988 The main reason I want a travel system is when DSis had my nephew she had one and I just remember how great it was to be able to fit the car seat onto the frame, so she didn't have to wake up to get him in and out of the car.

Ninjamomma · 23/08/2019 18:56

Hi all, just catching up on everything, my scan went well this morning thank goodness. 12+1 and EDD now 5th March. Time to get excited I reckon
