Oh wow, can't wait to hear about baby fettle!!!

MrsMcJnr · 19/09/2007 09:29

Ladies ? update on Fettle, her DH posted the following at 23:25 last night!

?Hello All,

First post of 'Fettle Watch' from DH here!!

I have just been sent home to get some sleep as not a huge amount seems to be happening so far. Two lots of Prostin and lots of mini-contractions but no full blown labour as of yet. Was 1cm dilated earlier and they could have used the old crochet hook but decided to use the second lot of prostin and wait until tomorrow to try in earnest.

Thanks for all the words of support, I will ensure DW (is that the right term to use?!?!?) knows you are all thinking of her.

I am sure I will have more news tomorrow!!

Hope you are all well.

Mr Fettle?

RahRah1 · 19/09/2007 09:35

ARRRRRR.....He sounds nice! Hope he got some sleep... fingers crossed we will hear soon.

Thanks for the update XX

MrsMcJnr · 19/09/2007 18:02

no news yet ? so exciting!

Hey Rah Fettle is being induced early (she?s about 38 weeks) because they are worried that she has a liver condition (forgotten name ) that she got when pregnant with DD too. Thanks for your sentiments for me some times it feels as if the time has gone quickly but it does seem like light years ago that I got my BFP. Torres is on the pg after mc thread with me but I think she?s on hols at the mo. I?ll try and CAT her. Leave it with me

Hello Beansprout Hello Greedy

RahRah1 · 19/09/2007 21:07

Thanks MrsMcJnr - really appreciate it. My friend and her little boy have just been round. Always have fun, as he is ultra cute. He is growing up shockingly quickly and a right bossy one! But I'm knackered now! He is a loony!

HURRY UP MINI FETTLE!

Hi all.... Still no news... ... anyone got an update?

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 20/09/2007 11:08

Morning all,

Sorry for not posting last night but didn't get in 'till gone 2 am and didn't think many of you would be on then!!!

DS (confirmed as Toby) was born just before 10 last night after a reasonably smooth labour (I shall leave DW to fill you in with the gory details....) weighing in at 8lb 9oz. An absolutely gorgeous little boy, but then again I would say that wouldn't I!

Fettle and DS hopefully coming home later today and I'm sure you will get more from her then!!!

Mr Fettle

Ready · 20/09/2007 13:05

MrsMc - Thanks very much for posting the updates on Fettle!! Good ol' Mr Fettle posting
Thats really good news about your house, 2 lots of interest is brill! My fingers and toes are firmly crossed for you.
I am not sure I want to buy another house again after the palaver we've had with the chain attached to selling this. Both links in the chain have the most incompetent solicitors, and it is so frustrating. We just keep waiting and waiting! Thankfully our solicitor is awesome, but then we've used her for years.

Fettle - Congratulations!!! Can't wait to hear all about it, and see some pics!! The words crochet hook, that your DH nicely shared (via MrsMc) have filled me with terror

Greedy - Don't worry about not posting, we get it everyone has forgotten about us ... seriously, don't be daft!! Hope you are doing ok!! Not long to go now!! Thinking of you!

Rah - Hope you are ok I will email you soon. Thanks for listening to me rant the other day

Rainbow - How are you feeling? Are you still napping in the afternoons?? Is that what I have to look forward to? (one day!)

Hope everyone else on this thread is dandy Must dash - boxes to pack, inventory to type

iampgatlast · 20/09/2007 17:48

hi ladies just wanted to pop in and say hi to you all!

great news about fettle and family, cant wait to hear the details and see pics

greedy - have you got anything planned to give labour a kick start??!!

rah - your accupuncture sounds interesting. did you find the needles hurt? when i went whilst ttc i had ine dug into the back of my ear and it poured with blood - kind of put me off but considering it again now for back ache. can you feelthe herbs doing anything yet?

hello to ready hope all is well with you.

beansprout -- hows the pregnancy going? u blooming yet?

RahRah1 · 20/09/2007 18:19

Many congratulations Fettle..

Mini fettle is bigger than I thought He sounds perfect!

Who was nearest on the weight and date estimate?

iampgatlast - the needles hurt a little bit when they were being manipulated. I used to have a phobia of needles until I was pregnant and then I got over it. I seem OK with them now, I use to be really bad and pass out. But I just close my eyes and whimper a bit. Except when I had my epidural, I passed out three times, it was awful! What a wimp!

MrsMcJnr · 21/09/2007 09:51

Hey Ready thanks for your good wishes for the house, the Church are coming to see it again tomorrow morning, hope they like it! Sorry you?ve been through the mill with your house sale, I am so glad that we don?t have chains up here. Are you still in the house at the mo?

Iampgatlast how are you?

Hey Rah ? yet another reason to avoid an epidural I think!

RahRah1 · 21/09/2007 12:15

Some of my friends swear by them and say they would never have a baby without one, but then some people, including me would never have another one again. They can be problematic on some people. The only reason I had one was because the consultant uses them in prem births to slow the labour down, as otherwise the baby can deliver very quickly.

I spent quite a bit of time in the labour ward (kept leaving and going back) there were several people crying out for one and they were in right states until they got one.. so never say never I suppose!

OP posts:
RahRah1 · 21/09/2007 12:19

Not wanting to scare anyone with my last message.... but when your day comes and your on the labour ward you will hear some of the drama's some women make... its unbelievable. Then some women hardly make a sound...
Personally I thought most of the ones shouting etc... where the young kids and people who could not control themselves...
I think I will shut up now before upsetting anyone... Bye XX

OP posts:
fettleandminifettle · 21/09/2007 12:56

ooh - trying to think if I'm young, or unable to control myself!!!. Sure I made a fair bit of noise!! But not that much, I don't think - to be fair, I was pretty out of it on gas and air and pethidine, so can't really remember the details!! Managed the recommended silent pushing stage though, so all the energy goes in the push!

It did hurt though, much more than with Lexi, but then she was 7lbs 4.5 oz and this little man was 8lbs 8.5oz and a massive head!!! Just checked the head circumference - Lex was 34.2cm at 12 days old and Toby was 36.5cm - so quite a difference!

How's your herbs going? Feeling a difference, or just the constant hangover feeling?

Ready - sorry to hear things aren't going smoothly with the house sale - it really is one of the 3 most stressful things you can do, along with divorce and marriage, I seem to remember (although I put TTC up there too!).

I'll hopefully post some pictures soon.

Take care - off for a nap in a mo.

xxx

RahRah1 · 21/09/2007 13:06

ARRRR Fettle good to hear from you..

OUCH... it does sound painful... Bertie was obviously a lot smaller, so the sums added up a bit better...lol

I loved pethidine, its great. But was not allowed any when I was in labour, but managed to have some on a regular basis whilst I was in the hospital. It was fab! I don't think the nurses were very happy that I kept getting the doctors to prescribe it, I think they thought I was just trying to get high!

The herbs are giving me a headache... But hopefully they will be worth it! Bloody better be otherwise I give up!

Hope you and Toby have a good nap!

MrsMcJnr · 21/09/2007 14:27

That?s a big head Fettle ? I?ve tried to imagine that circumference and had to stop because I felt queasy ? you really deserved that ring hon

Rah ? I was just saying on the other thread that epidurals make some people think that they have spiders or something all over them as they get so itchy but obviously scratching doesn?t help - can?t be nice

RahRah1 · 21/09/2007 14:49

It made my legs fell like they were full of water and they were heavy. Because it did not work properly they had to tilt me every 1/2 on a board. It really pee'd me off! Oh well you learn whats best for yourself I suppose. Like I said some people love them. My friend said she could not even contemplate having another baby without one.

I'm looking for a holiday - any one been to Morocco? I'm looking for some winter sun, but a little flight time as possible... I hate flying!

OP posts:
greedygreedyguzzler · 21/09/2007 15:08

FETTLE - don't you know you are NEVER EVER supposed to actually tell anyone the head circumference of your baby!!! it is way to scarey to hear!!! you have just brought it all back to me..............my ds was 34 and dd 35cm so hopefully that doesnt mean 36cm this time......although i guess my fanny will be that much more stretched this time!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 21/09/2007 15:10

oh!........did anyone actually WANT to hear about my stretched fanny??!!!

RahRah1 · 21/09/2007 15:25

NICE!!!! OUCH!!!

Right I'm just about to book my holiday.

Morocco, 4 * All inclusive for a week in a brand new hotel.

BUT.... I have just started this acupuncture and herbs and due to me ovulating early last month, would of ovulated before we go.. So pee'd off as would like to go when we are ovulating and can relax and get everything working. Plus I get so stressed flying (hate it)if by some miracle was pregnant it would likely cause serious damage. What do I do?? I hate TTC its so irrational and takes over your life!

OP posts:
fettleandminifettle · 21/09/2007 15:57

Go for it Rah!! holiday sounds good and you deserve it! Never been to Morocco though, so can't help with that advice.

DD was conceived on a drunken all-inclusive holiday in Malta - as we finally let our hair down and stopped the TTC stressing for 10 days!!

Greedy - not really liking the image of your stretching anything!! Toby obviously just floated out of me, with no stretching of anything!!
xxx

RahRah1 · 21/09/2007 16:44

Thanks Fettle... I know I need to let go and just try and forget about TTC for a while. Maybe my ovulation will be delayed and I will get a little Moroccan surprise at the end of it!

Wow... just floated out
