I'm so excited to start this thread. Looks like I'll be due 1st April from my ovulation day (28th July by last period)!

I'm absolutely over the moon after a MC in May.
Bring on the April Babies!

Hi everyone! How you all feeling today?

I've stopped getting the one sided cramps, now it just feels all over but quite mild so I'm not worried. Appetite is quite low, but I am a bit nauseous so is expected really.

I snapped at OH too this morning, then had a little cry about it. This is so unlike me! He was very sweet about it.

Anyone else feeling a little sensitive?

hopefulandgrateful · 30/07/2019 12:31

@NewtothisFBK4921 glad I'm not the only one. It's going to be a slow couple of months!

BristolBear · 30/07/2019 14:59

@NewtothisFBK4921 @hopefulandgrateful Yep, I hear you. Very glad to not be the only one and nice to be part of this group :)

Islandermum · 30/07/2019 15:45

@BristolBear you arent alone! I've been fairly chilled out this week in terms of mood swings but I was a bit of a nightmare last week.

I'm a FTM so not really knowing what to expect but I got my first actual proper morning sickness today. I have been feeling slightly nauseaous for the last few days but today it really begun. Feeling so excited though! I can only stomach eating subway salads...

Hi ladies! So happy to stumble across this thread!
I got my BFPs on Monday. Last cycle started on 30/6. So think that makes me early.
This is dc1 for me. So I'm a mix of terrified and over the moon.
Hadn't been trying for long. At all. So has come as a shock. Was not expecting it.
What do I do now!!?
Look forward to chatting with you all x

Congratulations @newgirl89! What an exciting/confusing/overwhelming journey we are all starting together.
It my first too so it's all very bewildering. Just take it easy and start taking your pregnancy vitamins. When you are about 6 weeks, I'd call the gp or midwife to let them know. Some ladies book in for private scans to check how the baby is doing before 12 weeks, you can find your local one by googling early pregnancy ultrasound in my area!

newgirl89 · 30/07/2019 16:10

Thanks @Islandermum really kind of you. I called my gp today. Just because I want sure the process. Have an appointment a week today. Then he/she can refer me to midwife?
I'm (and dp!) really thinking about the early scan. A) because I'm impatient b) I can't believe it!
How are you feeling? X

heidibuttons · 30/07/2019 16:21

Hi all, can I join in the chat too? Surprise positive test today. Last period started 29th June so four and a half weeks I think.
This is my second with DS 4 years old. Now I need to figure out how to tell my other half when he gets in from work...!

J43mum · 30/07/2019 17:06

@heidibuttons ha ha good luck ! How exciting x

Islandermum · 30/07/2019 19:41

@heidibuttons Have you told him yet? How did it go! Huge congratulations xx

heidibuttons · 30/07/2019 20:15

He looked surprised then grinned a lot! I'm anticipating a steady stream of 'what about...?' and 'how will we...?' questions this evening as he is still processing.

BristolBear · 30/07/2019 20:55

Congratulations @newgirl89 @heidibuttons :)

@Islandermum I hope the morning sickness eases off for you soon, or at least gives you some more options!

I was looking up which pregnancy symptoms are passed down, and my mum always says that she had a couple of weeks morning sickness and then she really enjoyed the rest of her pregnancies.

Fx we are all feeling as smug as my mum during ours too Grin

timepoor · 30/07/2019 21:39

Is anyone else bricking it about telling work? I know we don't have to for ages but I really can't see my boss being thrilled about this, especially as one colleague has just gone off on maternity leave!

ShirleyPhallus · 30/07/2019 21:54

Yes @Timepoor!! Me! I only just started this job and was brought in in a senior capacity. When I tell my boss I basically got pregnant the week I started I can’t see it going down too well!

newgirl89 · 30/07/2019 22:01

@timepoor yeah I'm pretty nervous about that. But I suppose they must expect it, plus. They can't punish you. So just have to get it done!

@ShirleyPhallus I haven't been in my job long either. Oh well. I won't be there to hear them moan I guess 😂😂😂

I haven't been pregnant before. I literally can't believe it. I am still so nervous I'm going to discover af make a very late arrival! I feel so anxious.

How are you all? X

timepoor · 30/07/2019 22:13

@newgirl89 I'm not sure she is expecting it - this is baby #4 for me, even though I've made comments about wanting a 4th and being broody (occupational hazard!) I think she thought I was joking.

timepoor · 30/07/2019 22:14

@ShirleyPhallus ouch that's not going to be an easy conversation. Virtual support and hand holding when you do need to broach the subject.

Bookworm83 · 30/07/2019 22:25

To all the ladies with period-like cramps, I've been having them too. Went to see the midwife yesterday and she confirmed it's perfectly normal, unless it's excruciating pain and the bleeding. It's all due to the uterus stretching to accommodate the changes.

I'm 4 weeks 6 days today, I was given the Healthy Start vitamins and a whole bunch of literature to keep me busy until the next appointment 🙂

NewtothisFBK4921 · 31/07/2019 08:06

@Bookworm83 oh that's so helpful thank you! I've relaxed a little bit with mine now but my GP sent me off for a scan when I told her, and then at the scan they saw nothing, so that kind of freaked me out. They said it's normal not to see anything this early (I'm only 4 weeks) but took my bloods yesterday and again tomorrow to check it's looking okay just in case. I feel a lot better though and cramping all feels quite normal now so hoping it's all good. Results Friday.

Anyone else ever had a scan this early?

HarryPotterandtheSAHM · 31/07/2019 08:16

Congratulations to all the new bfps, so nice to have you here :)

I just went to see my lovely GP who it is impossible to get an appointment with usually, and explained how anxious I was about HG returning. She’s given me a prescription for the really good tablets (Ondansetron) that worked last time but took me months of fighting to be given, so that I have them in the house if i suddenly need them. So i’m feeling much calmer about this now. But hopefully this time I just have a bit of regular morning sickness instead - not that that’s any fun either 😩 I hope everyone is feeling okay! Xx

charmedgirl87 · 31/07/2019 09:32

Hi all I'm Kate . Found out on Friday I'm pregnant after a loss on may.
This is baby number 5 and I'm.dud April 2md x

BristolBear · 31/07/2019 09:42

@Bookworm83 thank you so much for sharing. That's very reassuring. I'm feeling less crampy now, hopefully that's also a good thing!

Fingers crossed for you @HarryPotterandtheSAHM that you have an easier time of it, and great that they have listened to you earlier in this time.

Hi Kate (@charmedgirl87 ) congratulations on your bfp :)

@NewtothisFBK4921 I've read that you don't see anything at 4 weeks. I've looked at a place that does an early scan near me and I'm going to book in for around 7 weeks. They say they can scan from 6 weeks, but feel that might be a little early and was thinking of waiting until 7.

Anyone else get a 6/7 week scan on a previous pregnancy? Feels like waiting the extra week is going to feel sooo long, but if it's better to wait I'd rather do that.

Mummylaura1988 · 31/07/2019 09:49

Hi all,

Got my BFP on 24th july. Last period was 23/06/19 was so shocked to have got the positive as we had been trying for a little under 3 years. Due date calculators say I'll be due 03/04/20 (my mums birthday Shock) would be nice to talk to other expectant mums who are around the same time as myself. This is my second pregnancy I have a daughter who is 7 and had treatment for secondary infertility for the last 2 years. So greatful to be in this position now.

Xxx

CodlingMoth · 31/07/2019 10:03

This early pregnancy stuff is so much easier to deal while in holiday. Wandering of to bed for a lie down right after breakfast is barely noticed. Next week back at work is going to be HARD. 😂😭

It's lovely seeing all the new names appearing on the list. GrinGrin

I'm not going to arrange my booking appointment until I'm 8 weeks as all of my recent loses happened before then. So will have a scan at 8 weeks then book in. The next 3 weeks are going to be looooong.

@Timepoor I've been on my job about 7 months, so all being well also have a difficult conversation ahead Hmm Thankfully my work place seems fairly family friendly.

MindyStClaire · 31/07/2019 10:11

Congratulations to all the new joiners! Especially those of you who have been trying a while or have had a loss. Flowers I'm so impressed at those of you expecting number 4 or 5, I'm terrified at the thought of handling two!

I'm most definitely feeling pregnant this morning. Absolutely shattered and plenty of nausea, as well as a really strong line on a frer. Yay, I guess? Envy

A friend in work was due the same time as me last time and we became very close. Think I'll tell her today - no way I'll manage to hide it for another 7 weeks from her, so may as well have the support.
