I'm so excited to start this thread. Looks like I'll be due 1st April from my ovulation day (28th July by last period)!

I'm absolutely over the moon after a MC in May.
Bring on the April Babies!

Age 23
Baby #1 (pregnancy #2)
EDD 1st April

@ShirleyPhallus Thank you!
When your friends guessed, what did you say? Did you admit it to them?

I'm certain our group of friends already know, and considering telling them 'officially' soon, mostly because I'm terrible at lying!

MindyStClaire · 25/07/2019 07:46

Tentatively dipping a toe in. Got a bfp this morning. Faint but definitely there.

EDD is 4 April, two years to the day after my due date on my daughter. I had an EMCS last time though so I'm hoping for an ELCS this time which I guess would be the end of March.

Eep.

singme · 25/07/2019 13:36

Saying hello! Got my BFP on Tuesday on a FRER and then did a CB digital yesterday which says 2-3 weeks. By last period should be 4+4 today.

Only DP knows, it’s been a surprise to both of us! Went to a BBQ last night and felt a bit weird as everyone chatting away about work and next years plans.

Nice to talk to women in the same boat!

Islandermum · 25/07/2019 15:28

@MindyStClaire congratulations! Doesn't march/April just seem so far away!!

@singme huge congratulations, what a wonderful surprise, do you plan on telling anyone soon or just waiting it out?

Feeling no symptoms today at all, was quite nauseaous yesterday but nothing today so that's quite good!
I'm actually finding it ok in the heat but even before the heatwave I was having to drink about 4litres a day so I'm a bit of a water guzzling weeing machine right now!!
How are you all? Any symptoms?

@islandermum (how do you tag people in posts?) I’m not sure whether to tell anyone- maybe my mum or closest friend in a few weeks. Seems like such a massive thing and have to not mention it for ages. Not sure about work too- will need to start arranging things for next year soon!

Those who are on baby 2- when did you tell work?

Got a few symptoms- sore boobs, feel like I need to burp rather than actual nausea. Maybe it’s too early for proper sickness. Sooo tired but could be the heat!

hopefulowl · 25/07/2019 16:14

@singme @MindyStClaire Congrats and welcome!

@Islandermum I've thankfully not been too nauseous yet, but I'm off anything sweet at the moment. Feel like I am constantly hungry, but by the evening I struggle to eat dinner. It's the weirdest thing. Anyone else feeling like this?

MindyStClaire · 25/07/2019 16:24

Thanks for the congratulations! I've had a bit of nausea and some niggling pains, but nothing much yet. I was really lucky and had a very easy time on DD so I'm tightly crossing my fingers that it's the same this time.

singme silly when I only found out this morning, but I was thinking about when to tell work this morning. I have an important meeting in early September about planning what I'll do for the next year. I'll need to set objectives and it would be bad not to meet them so I think it might actually be better to just tell them early so the objectives are sensible. My manager is driven but nice so I might talk to him a couple of weeks before the meeting. It's very early but might actually be the better plan.

Otherwise I'd leave it, think I was about 14 weeks last time.

singme · 25/07/2019 16:52

Congrats all and thanks for the welcome and congrats!Smile

@MindyStClaire that sounds a good idea. I’ve got scan in September so all being well i think after then would be sensible, still time to plan for next year before April!

HarryPotterandtheSAHM · 25/07/2019 21:01

Hi, I just got my bfp on Monday, due around the 4th of April!

Islandermum · 25/07/2019 22:32

@HarryPotterandtheSAHM Congratulations! Is this your first?

I'm the worst at keeping secrets so I'm sure I'll tell someone sooner than the mystical 12 weeks.
Im counting down the days until my private early scan on the 9th August! Time is going sooo slowly

HarryPotterandtheSAHM · 25/07/2019 22:48

No, third! I have a 2.5yo and a 1yo too! Will this be your first? How exciting that you’ve booked a scan. I think I’ll book one for 8/9 weeks. I’ve only told 3 friends and DH. Tempted to call my mum soon though, but it still doesn’t feel real this early on!

ShirleyPhallus · 26/07/2019 08:50

@hopefulowl I told them! Tbh, if anything went wrong I’d want those people to know anyway so I don’t mind telling them early. We’ve told our families too and a few close friends. Everyone has been really happy for us :)

singme · 26/07/2019 09:41

@HarryPotterandtheSAHM congratulations!

After reading some of your posts and talking to DP last night I think we are going to have an early scan too. The whole thing has been such a surprise I think it will be good to know what’s going on a bit earlier. He doesn’t want to wait for 12 weeks to tell his parents and I’m pretty sure my mum will know the second I see her.

MindyStClaire · 26/07/2019 10:02

I had an early scan on DD and it was worth every penny. Going to do the same again this time, but because of a work trip for DH it won't be til 9 weeks.

ShirleyPhallus · 26/07/2019 10:08

How do you go about organising an early scan?

MindyStClaire · 26/07/2019 10:47

It depends what's in your area @ShirleyPhallus. There's a chain called baby bond (or maybe ultrasound direct? They seem to use both names) that has a branch near me. It's £70 for an early scan at 6-11 weeks.

hopefulowl · 26/07/2019 12:31

@ShirleyPhallus I feel the same about telling people, although I don't know how my OH feels. Think after we have an early scan we will start telling people... although I'm not even sure we can wait that long!

singme · 27/07/2019 18:23

How’s everyone doing today?

I’m on night shifts this weekend and was really stressing about not being able to have my usual buckets of caffeine but surprised myself but just having the one coffee.

Hope you’re all keeping well Smile

HarryPotterandtheSAHM · 27/07/2019 19:45

Hope the night shifts go well!
I took my two boys to a birthday party today while my husband was doing Tough Mudder! Was worried about surviving it alone but they had a great time and have gone straight to bed!

I had hyperemesis in my last 2 pregnancies so I’m terrified of that happening again but so far at 4 weeks I’m not feeling sick

MindyStClaire · 27/07/2019 21:25

Oh you poor thing HarryPotterandtheSAHM, fingers crossed you have an easier time of it this time.

Today's the first day I've really felt that pregnancy tired feeling. DD is a bit under the weather so it was a bit of a long day. Hoping she has a good night and wakes up in better form.

HarryPotterandtheSAHM · 28/07/2019 13:03

I hope your DD had a good night and is feeling better today! I’m dreading the first trimester tiredness, to me it was always worse than the end of pregnancy tiredness or even the newborn months. I think i’ll be having lots of sneaky sofa naps over the next few months

CodlingMoth · 28/07/2019 19:26

Hello, EDD 4th April, that magic 2nd line appeared a few days ago, though af only due yesterday. Already have nausea and daily naps going on!

KikiOB · 28/07/2019 19:48

Hi Ladies!

First time on Mumsnet as first pregnancy and I haven’t got a bloody clue 😂

I’m due 30th March so five weeks tomorrow but been having dull stomach cramps for two days now... anyone experienced anything similar??

CodlingMoth · 28/07/2019 19:49

Just had a read back and yay I have a couple of EDD buddies.

This will be DC3 for me and DC2 for DP. And as all of the kids are at school it will be interesting to see how this upheaval will go over. However as I've had a few miscarriages already we won't be telling them for sometime. Which is great because DC1 is already noticing my nap habit and I have no real excuse Hmm😂

Bookworm83 · 28/07/2019 20:26

Hi everyone, I'm completely new here.
I found out just a few days ago that I'm pregnant, currently 4 weeks and 4 days. Estimated due date is 1st April.

I'm having my first midwife appointment tomorrow and am really nervous, this is my first time but I am over 35 and have a couple of health issues so I am really anxious about it all.

This seems like a great place to share thoughts and worries!
