I'm so excited to start this thread. Looks like I'll be due 1st April from my ovulation day (28th July by last period)!

I'm absolutely over the moon after a MC in May.
Bring on the April Babies!

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I got cramps too but only at night. When I walk around, I feel fine. I am so worried as well.

Inthemidstofitall · 23/08/2019 11:17

Hi ladies.
Finally jumping on this thread after reading with interest for the past few weeks.
I’m 31, first baby and 7+2. I had my booking appointment with the midwife yesterday.. so although I’m still pretty terrified of a MMC (which I actually only learned about from MN 🙄) I’m feeling a bit more confident and relaxed after that little milestone.
Would love to be added to the FB group please?!
So happy to be on this journey

Makingawish · 23/08/2019 11:17

@CateyA I've read this is very normal due to all the extra hormones in your body!

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I get minor 'period like' cramps on and off but have done since probably the day I conceived but after plenty of researching I'm not worried because everywhere basically tells you to expect them. It is the same parts working after all!

CateyA · 23/08/2019 12:02

Thank you for reassurance Smile

Next anxiety is that I’m having to go for a smear to check my colonoscopy in March was effective. She said there is no risk to baby but due to hormones I obvs promptly burst into tears ... blurghhhhhh

PrincessConsuela12 · 23/08/2019 12:21

Happy Friday ☀️ For ladies that are worried about cramping I heard that as long as it's not really bad & you don't have bright red bleeding then it's pretty normal...

@Inthemidstofitall I too only heard about MMC on here & keep POAS to make sure there is still a line 🤦🏽‍♀️ how was your booking in appointment? Was it quite long?

Inthemidstofitall · 23/08/2019 12:47

@PrincessConsuela12 I must have spent about £100 on pregnancy tests (shamefully hides face) because I was so terrified about a chemical pregnancy, too! (Again, only learned about it on here) MN has been amazing but also terrible for my nerves. We conceived exceptionally quickly after having my coil removed (9 days!!) and I can’t help feeling that surely I’m not THIS lucky!?
Anyway, I’m hoping I will fully start to relax and enjoy this completely, once I’ve had a positive 12 week scan.
My booking appointment lasted 2 hours!! I didn’t mind though, because it felt amazing to be chatting about the pregnancy and not feel like I was getting on anyone’s nerves. DP deserves a medal 🤣
So I met my midwife and also a student, who was very enthusiastic and made me feel even more giddy. Chatted about past medical stuff, family history for myself and DP. Asked where we wanted to give birth. Talked about screening and they ask you if you want the 12 week nuchal scans (I’m going to, so I signed forms which I have at home and have to take along with me to the hospital) and they tested my urine for protein etc. Did height and weight. They took 4 vials of blood, which almost made me pass out, bleuugh!
She said she’d send off the bloods and get my details sent over to the hospital and I should have a letter from them in the next week with a date for the 12 week scan.
They ask about your mental health too, which I think is great and very important.
She booked me in for my next appointment with her, which will be at 16 weeks, and also told me I have to go for a flu jab in September and a whooping cough jab in October.

Hope all of that helps 😀 x

Navy123 · 23/08/2019 15:39

Hoping I can join!

Edd currently between 5th and 12th April - 5th by lmp, dated as 6+4 yesterday at an early scan which would make it the 12th. By my dates I'm 7+4 though so a bit worried. Will be booking a private scan for 2 weeks time to check. Had 6mcs previously so definite anxiety in this pregnancy.

Horrible nausea which has completely floored me for the last week so I've started cyclizine which is amazing, I've been able to eat and drink today!

Trying to read through the thread, so much to catch up on!

Vintagelovingmum · 23/08/2019 16:16

Hi everybody!
Congratulations
I am about 5 + 5 weeks roughly, due on the 18th April, with my 2nd pregnancy, I'm quite an anxious person normally especially when pregnant!

Looking into booking an early scan around 9 or 10 weeks although it's only another 2 weeks to wait for the 12 weeks one I just like having that extra reassurance.

Not suffering as badly yet with the nausea and I couldn't even look at raw chicken with my dd which I haven't got yet which is worrying me a bit

Not taking my husband to my booking appointment as he's working although using my brother in law to look after dd whilst I'm in there.

Still breastfeeding her too so not sure how I got pregnant as she still feeds like a newborn!

poopatroop · 23/08/2019 16:17

I just disappeared down a hole of reading about MMCs - my nausea and strong sense of smell have both eased in the past couple of days but I have still had ongoing period-like cramps. Really makes you worry doesn't it! Fingers and toes crossed that we're all worrying over nothing.

Inthemidstofitall · 23/08/2019 16:30

@poopatroop I've been exactly the same with googling and falling into the MMC hole.
I keep thinking, just get to 12 weeks and you'll relax, knowing full well I'll be a neurotic mess at 38 weeks 🤣

PrincessConsuela12 · 23/08/2019 17:33

@Inthemidstofitall Oh wow, that's really quick!! I bet that came as a bit of a shock 😂
Two hours!! Goodness... it does make me sooo excited though! I bet it was so nice just to talk baby / pregnancy for that long.

I had a flu injection at the beginning of the year so I'm not sure if I'll be due another one, I always build them and blood tests up in my head and get so worked up the days before & then they're over so quickly.

Have you had any early scans? Have you got any symptoms yet? I hear things can start progressing from 6 weeks 😕

Inthemidstofitall · 23/08/2019 18:41

@PrincessConsuela12 I'm the same with building up fear about blood draw etc, but the midwife was great and very fast.
I haven't had an early scan. Very tempted, but a friend of mine had one at 8 weeks and there was a healthy heartbeat and then at 12 week scan found out the pregnancy had come to an end at 9 weeks.. she had continued to have symptoms and had no idea.
I just don't think I want to do it after hearing that.
I'm just going to wait it out until 12 week NHS one.

ellarosee · 23/08/2019 19:21

Hello and happy friday/bank holiday weekend!

Is anyone else really bloated? I'm only 5 weeks but I look about 5 months! Worrying how I'm going to hide this secret x

Moonstone12 · 23/08/2019 20:08

@ellarosee yup I'm the size of a house lol! Child 4 and no stomach muscles in sight! All ready in maternity jeans and only 4 weeks 😂😂😂 With that and the no drinking everyone will guess by Monday I reckon lol. I work in a pub and drinks after work is a regular occurrence so hiding it has proven difficult!

Sussexbythesea84 · 23/08/2019 20:26

Hey!

We got our positive today! Due end of April.

I thought I miscarried a few weeks ago. We had a positive followed by negatives and then heavy bleeding. My boobs are on fire so on the off chance I tested and the lines were both so clear.

How is everyone feeling?

nicoletia · 23/08/2019 20:35

Congratulations to all of you who recently got their BFPs.

I've seen my GP over two weeks ago and I'm yet to hear from my midwife. I'm panicking a little bit as I don't want to miss my 12 week NT scan and I'm away on holiday for 2 weeks next month.

I haven't been ill per se but get waves of nausea. Do you think the worst is yet to come? I'm 6+6

ellarosee · 23/08/2019 20:38

@Moonstone12 oh good I'm glad it's not just me but this is my 1st so I don't think I should be showing already. maybe I've taken the whole eating for two idea too seriously 😬 gosh that must be the hardest work environment to try hiding pregnancy! So far me and DH are managing to dodge social events because everyone would guess straight away if I didn't have a drink in my hand! I hope you manage to keep it under wraps a bit longer.

Congratulations @Sussexbythesea84 thats wonderful news! How many weeks are you?

PrincessConsuela12 · 23/08/2019 20:57

@Inthemidstofitall how awful for them 💔 not too much longer for you now really, hopefully it goes quickly for you!

Sussexbythesea84 · 23/08/2019 20:59

I think I’m around 5 weeks, but need to book in with the midwife as I cancelled her previously.

I’m so excited for what’s to come, we’re still in disbelief that this is happening. We’ve been trying for a year 💗

nicola18737 · 23/08/2019 21:04

Hi I’m new to this thread. I’m finally daring to join it after being freaked out with bleeding for the past week. Scans show nothing abnormal though and can see the heartbeat.

My scans dated me at 6 weeks although by my LMP I should be 7 weeks. That means I’m due 17th April.

nicola18737 · 23/08/2019 21:05

@Sussexbythesea84 congratulations! We have been trying for a year too!

newgirl89 · 24/08/2019 07:30

Morning ladies!

Have just been catching up on the last week!

Welcome to all the newbies. Hope you are all ok and managing not to worry too much. As helpful as MN it can also teach you too much 😂 constantly symptom spotting!

I haven't posted for a while - so is nice to be back! I'm 7+5 today. Feeling nauseous constantly. Worse in the evening. Although haven't actually been sick yet! Have early scan today which is exciting ... and terrifying.

My booking appt is 5/9 and was planning to take d/p. You've made some good points. Don't want him to look like he is taking the pee at work!

Have a good weekend everyone x

nicola18737 · 24/08/2019 08:00

@newgirl89 I know I’m thinking I should come off Mums net for that reason. Its making me worried hearing others bad experiences 😢

2ndtimelucky418 · 24/08/2019 10:31

Hi everyone, hope all is well and welcome to all the newbies 😊

Really struggling with my anxiety atm. I am 7+2 and my first appointment/scan isnt until 26/9. I had a mc back in march at 11 weeks after having a healthy looking private scan at 8 weeks. I cant help but wonder how everything is looking internally. Im so scared that it will happen again.

I would love to book another private scan to ease my worries but DH doesnt think it is a good idea as he thinks it made it harder last time.

Any advice on how to survive the next 4+ weeks? 😩🙈

TIA

Pip231018 · 24/08/2019 11:35

@2ndtimelucky418 Hey. I'm similar to you. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and I had a scan earlier this year before discovering at 8 weeks that I had a mmc.

I want to go for a scan, but at the same time don't because it doesn't offer long term reassurance. I plan to just do a weekly test, as long as the line is strong then there should be no reason to worry. Also just trying to relax as much as I can.

This will sound really silly but I kept seeing solo magpies when I miscarried and I've started seeing them again, so quickly learning that there is no way to not feel anxious. x
