I'm so excited to start this thread. Looks like I'll be due 1st April from my ovulation day (28th July by last period)!

I'm absolutely over the moon after a MC in May.

biggreensmoothie · 20/08/2019 00:10

Hey ladies and to all the latest joiners!

Totally understand all the anxiety - I have literally been demented worrying and symptom checking non stop - and I only found I out I was pregnant 5 days ago!!

I got some temporary relief today when I got my bloods done again and HCG has risen a lot since Thursday (currently living in the US so they do a lot more - costs a lot more too though!!). I am booked in for a scan on Wednesday which will also hopefully keep the anxiety at bay. Going to try the headspace app and a little meditation to see if it helps!

Feeling very sorry for the all those with bad sickness / nausea and hoping you get some relief. I had a lot of sickness in my first pregnancy but none so far this time.

@Blackjeep 👋 nice to have another mama my age - does this feel similar to your other pregnancies?!

Ruthsoph · 20/08/2019 05:56

@biggreensmoothie and @Blackjeep hello ladies I am also in the 42 year old boat - this will be my second as already have a daughter who is 5 in Nov - I am wondering if I will find it harder this time being a bit older - what do you think? Xx

Blackjeep · 20/08/2019 06:46

@biggreensmoothie and @ruthsoph I’m finding this one definitely harder but possibly due to worry. Plenty of ladies our age sail through pregnancy so I’m hoping it’ll be the same for us. I’m currently 7 weeks and 5 days and getting a scan on 30th August. Hopefully all will be well then! Are there any older mother boards on this site?

LokiCat · 20/08/2019 07:07

@Lemonysherbet hey lovely! So pleased to see you here Grin
I'm not feeling many symptoms, so I don't completely believe it either, even though it's been a week since I found out! 😂 I'm sure it'll start feeling very real soon.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 20/08/2019 08:04

I don’t know that there is specifically a section for older mothers, but you could start a thread in this (pregnancy) section and I’m sure you would get lots of takers. There is a longrunning thread for 40+ TTC on the conception section

Ruthsoph · 20/08/2019 08:06

My boobs felt sore and tingly on Saturday but today not so much if anything - has anyone else had this?

HerSymphonyAndSong · 20/08/2019 08:30

Ruth I am breastfeeding this time and I haven’t had any breast symptoms at all (which keeps worrying me because I had such strong breast symptoms last time, but of course logically I know that they are “in use” so changes are less likely). But last time I had tingly almost “let down” sensations sometimes as well as soreness

CateyA · 20/08/2019 09:02

@Blackjeep yes I’m 40 now. I’m 4 weeeks +1
A friend recently lost an early pregnancy and I’m full of panic.
Possibly not helped by cold turkey on anxiety meds and caffeine! Hmm

lilyj13 · 20/08/2019 09:06

@Noodlesxxx oh no you poor thing, sounds like you have hyperemisis, it's awful but the best thing out of it is that it's a sign of a healthy baby!
I had it in both my pregnancy's and it was just horrendous. As soon as the iv drip is in it all seems better. Hope it gets better and you get some good drugs!
I'm only 6.3 and I'm getting very anxious I'm going to get it again. I have bad nausea but that's it I've just got some good tablets for them

minimadgirl · 20/08/2019 09:40

Hi, can I join you gals please. I am Vix and am 35. Got my bfp just over a week (and seemingly a life time) ago. We have been trying for around 14months and had given up hope as I had spent about 10 years trying with my ex without any success.

I am 6 weeks today and due I think around the 14th April, with my first.
To be honest finding it very hard, am not really getting any symptoms, just about a hour of nausea at night after tea, it just feels like I have drunk a big glass of water and laid down straight away. Although last night and this morning I am a mega moody cow bag and feel so tired, but that could just be because I had a shocking day at work yesterday (work on a Mental Health Ward, not really conducive for a stress free time).

We have booked in for an early scan on the 8th Sept as we go away camping the next week with my family. Just feels like there isn't much support for people these days until 8 weeks except forums.

lb3105 · 20/08/2019 10:07

Congratulations!! I just found out last week, and am about 5 weeks along, this is my first. by my calculations I'll be due on the 19th April 2020. What a great time to have a baby!!! How are you feeling?

Madaleinerw · 20/08/2019 10:54

Hi ladies, congratulations to you all!

Need a little advice. I'm 7/8 weeks gone and currently sat at the doctors waiting to be seen because of really bad cramping and pains. I also lost all my pregnancy symptoms over the weekend.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what do I do about the cramps and pains? They are so so intense x

Noodlesxxx · 20/08/2019 10:59

Hey @lilyj13 and @megan18....i will prob be in a few more days which tbh im glad in a weird way lol feeling a bit better today but nothing significant....how are you all doing today??? I really hoped to have a smoother ride this time round but thats out the window now 😂😂

ellarosee · 20/08/2019 11:04

Hi @Madaleinerw I'm sorry to hear that and I really hope everything is ok! I've been having cramps ever since ovulation, they're not super intense but enough for me to notice them, I'd say about 3/10 on a scale of pain. I'm a bit worried about them too but hoping it's just normal when your body is stretching and making room for a baby. Other than the cramps I barely have any symptoms either sometimes I feel a bit dizzy but no nausea yet. I'm actually wishing myself to feel sick which is very weird isn't it 🙈

Let us know how you get on at the docs I'm sure it's all very normal so try not to worry xx

secretllama · 20/08/2019 11:51

Hello, hope you dont mind me jumping on board!
Got my first ever BFP on friday, due April 23rd! Thought the conception had me worried but now I'm pregnant I'm such a symptom spotter! My boobs have been so sore for 2 weeks and today they aren't really any more so its making me worried Confused
I've had mild dull cramping for about 2 weeks before I knew I was pregnant and still going on now.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 9 months Smile

Imagineit · 20/08/2019 12:17

Hi all can I join? I’m due april 8th. I’m almost 7 weeks and struggling with another hg pregnancy 😫😫 is there a Facebook group at all?

winedayfriday · 20/08/2019 12:41

@secretllama - BFP and due date buddies! Grin

secretllama · 20/08/2019 12:58

@winedayfriday yey! 🥳 is this your first? xx

nomorewinedayfriday · 20/08/2019 13:00

@secretllama - it's my 2nd. Got a 2 and a half year old DS so I know what's coming and what's in store 😂

Just as I joined this thread, realised I needed to change my username. Winedayfriday doesn't happen here anymore!! 😋

secretllama · 20/08/2019 13:04

@nomorewinedayfriday love the name change! Grin

Haha it's my first so I've no idea whats coming 😂 xx

LokiCat · 20/08/2019 13:11

@secretllama @nomorewinedayfriday (brilliant name change) - due date buddies as well! Grin
This will also be my first.
I keep running into the toilets at work just to poke my boobs and make sure they're still sore... 😂

nomorewinedayfriday · 20/08/2019 13:14

Enjoy your sleep whilst you have it to all you first timers! 😂

My boobs v sore and cramping on and off, a lot on my right side. But not worries as had the exact same with DS and an early scan showed all was where it was meant to be.

What I wasn't expecting was feeling a little sick this morning which I hope is a one off coincidence as I've never had morning sickness! Shock

secretllama · 20/08/2019 13:24

@LokiCat hello! 🙋‍♀️ haha I've been doing the same today as they're not as bad as they've been, I've been told to stop worrying by my sister!
