I'm so excited to start this thread. Looks like I'll be due 1st April from my ovulation day (28th July by last period)!

I'm absolutely over the moon after a MC in May.
Bring on the April Babies!

@Madaleinerw I'm in Hampshire! When I rang to self refer they said a midwife would call me between 8-10 weeks to make an appointment. So sorry to hear about your mc x

HarryPotterandtheSAHM · 14/08/2019 08:16

@lilyj13 I had HG twice too, and nearly wrote the same letter. But here we are! I have 2 boys and everyone keeps telling me if this is a girl My HG will be worse 😩 hope you’re feeling ok. I’m on Ondansetron already at 7 weeks

EjWil · 14/08/2019 09:12

@mumof1hants I felt the same the second time around because I had a bad experience with my first so I chose to have an elective c-section but I got that from talking about my fears. (I know sounds crazy going to a c section but I healed better from that than my tear what still hurts to this day on and off)
Basically what I am trying to say is talk to your midwife to make your experience what you want and hope, there's normally a full team to help in the nhs xx

BumblieBee · 14/08/2019 11:29

@Madaleinerw I'm Hampshire too, my previous doctors surgery I rang up and they gave me a midwife appointment around 8 weeks. This time I have to see a doctor first and then get referred on (both in Hampshire, just moved hospital areas between)

yoy114 · 14/08/2019 11:44

Is anyone else suffering with an achy back? I'm 6 weeks.what can I do to relieve it.

lilyj13 · 14/08/2019 12:11

@HarryPotterandtheSAHM wow I thought with boys you didn't get it as bad, girls are horrendous my cousin is a doctor and apparently those drugs are the best.
I hope it gets better I really do there is nothing worse and people who had bad sickness and say the understand you just want to punch them lol, bad sickness is not h/g I'm 5.4 days and I'm feeling ok just very tired although I felt really sick today maybe because I haven't eaten anything yet been a busy morning,
I'm hoping for just once my last pregnancy I will have a nice one.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 14/08/2019 14:08

Hello nice to meet you all. I am 5+3 by LMP (so EDD 12/4/19) having tested at the weekend after my period didn’t arrive on holiday last week. I have a 15mo son and I’m 33yo. The pregnancy insomnia and crazy dreams kicked in early (last week!) but no breast symptoms this time, I think because I am breastfeeding still - last time they were agony and rock hard and enormous. Feeling pretty sicky and wiped out, but my son has only just started sleeping at night so the tiredness is fairly ingrained now!

We self-refer to the antenatal service here, so no need to see the doctor. I’m going to do that after I get back from holiday at the end of August (I think I will be 8 weeks then?) because I won’t get seen any earlier anyway and it still feels very early days.

Hope everyone continues to do well!

Madaleinerw · 14/08/2019 14:47

Congratulations @HerSymphonyAndSong lovely news!

I'm so glad you described your boobs as rock hard last time! Mine are like that now and I thought something was wrong because most people describe it as bloated and to me that puffy and airy! They are so tender and just feel like one hard lump haha! They've not grown all that much but it was my first symptom!

BristolBear · 14/08/2019 16:37

Hello everyone, and congratulations on all the new bfps :)

After a pretty rough weekend of feeling sick (with a bug), I went and booked an early scan as I was still worried about the pains earlier on and from picking up a pretty nasty bug.

Scan was yesterday evening and they dated me as 6+1 (bang on my estimate) and the best thing was seeing a little heartbeat fluttering away. I'm a first time mum so a totally new experience. Super happy.

I'm having nausea all day still (oh is fine) so guess it's pg related. I feel like I've bought every real ginger product in the shop.. anyone have any handy tips to help get through the work day?

mumof1hants · 14/08/2019 16:46

@EjWil thanks for the advice, I'll definitely mention that I'm worried. I had a lot of blood loss and it was a bit touch and go. I guess at least they'd be more prepared next time knowing my history?

@yoy114 I don't have an achy back but would recommend those things you heat up in the microwave and put on it... helped me in the later stages.

@BristolBear how exciting about your scan! It's amazing! Wait till you go to the 12wk one and the baby is fully formed moving about. It's crazy! Glad ur feeling better too x

mumof1hants · 14/08/2019 16:48

Exhaustion has really hit me now. I'm 6+5 and I'm literally yawning my head off constantly. I put aside today to clean my house but I literally couldn't manage it. Did a bit of hoovering and cleaned the kitchen then I needed to lay down! It's not like me at all. I'm usually so productive! Anyone else experiencing this?

HerSymphonyAndSong · 14/08/2019 17:02

My productivity has been pretty low since I first got pregnant in summer 2017

CEM29 · 14/08/2019 17:06

Definitely tired ! Sleeping for 8hrs but then wake up and exhausted. Struggle to work is real ! Hopefully it eases

BristolBear · 14/08/2019 17:16

@mumof1hants thank you, very much looking forward to the next scan. Time feels like it is going so slow!

I am definitely feeling the exhaustion too, can't stop yawning and just feel shattered throughout the day even with a decent night's sleep.

BristolBear · 14/08/2019 17:20

@CEM29 agree work is awful when feeling this tired! Feels like I've got a hangover every day..

AnxietyMama · 14/08/2019 17:24

@mumof1hants oh yes to the exhaustion. I think it was worse when I was pregnant with my little boy because I could sit and nap whenever I needed to. But now I've got a nearly two year old so there's no chance! I'm shattered all the time 😩

turtletum · 14/08/2019 17:46

Hello! I got my bfp last week and am excited but nervous. I hate the early stages in terms of worrying. I'm now 5w and feeling exhausted already, with mild nausea, joint aches and stomach cramps. This is my second pregnancy, I've got a ds who's almost 2yo. I've self referred to the midwife team as booking in appointment happens around 8w here. I'm debating whether to get an early scan. I did last time and it did reassure me, and was a lovely experience. But it's money that could be better spent? Any one else having an early scan?

Madaleinerw · 14/08/2019 17:55

@mumof1hants the tiredness is so real isn't it! I get up at 8 (before pg I'd be up at 7) start work at 9 and by 12.30 I'm ready to sleep again!

@BristolBear my nausea had been constant since 4+2 and I'm now nearly 7 weeks and the ONLY thing that helps me is a ginger shot from Tesco! Honestly they are saving my life daily. Albeit only a couple of hours but I'll take what I can get! They are hard to neck back when you're feeling rough but worth it!

mumof1hants · 14/08/2019 18:17

Thanks for all the replies! Didn't know if I was imagining it but seems real of all you are having it too! I don't really have any other symptoms so can't complain. Hats of to those of u who have nausea or worse!!

@turtletum congrats! I've got an early scan booked for 8+6 for reassurance. The 12 wk one just seems so far off! It is pricey tho!

Sorbfsiabs · 14/08/2019 19:15

Congratulations to everyone who has just joined :)

MOGMOGMOG85 · 14/08/2019 19:57

Hi @AnnaP07 you're in a similar boat to me 34 and 1st pregnancy and so anxious about it! I just got my first midwife appointment through today and it's for September 3rd when I'll be 8 weeks - I'm currently a week behind you at 5+5 - congratulations and I'm with you on the pain of waiting!

HettiSpagetti · 14/08/2019 20:31

Hello everyone and congratulations!

Hopping over from another April thread, this one is much busier we must have all missed it somehow. Due 6/4 with a surprise second, I’m 6+2 today.

Been feeling awful this time from just over 3 weeks -morning sickness didn’t kick in until around 7 weeks last time. Finding (s)mints are helping at the minute.

Lizim · 14/08/2019 20:39

@turtletum I have booked an early scan for next Tuesday when I will be 7 weeks. It was £45 which i think is fairly reasonable, especially if it gives me piece of mind. I couldn't have waited for the 12 week one. x

P0LARIS · 14/08/2019 20:56

Hello!
I got my BFP at the weekend! I think I'm around 3-4weeks. Such early days feel so nervous about something going wrong! Have a dull period pain and achy legs & feeling little nausea! Hopefully these are all normal signs. Feel a bit clueless and that I have no idea 😂 but trying to keep myself distracted until that first scan!

I think my EDD will be around the 25th April!
This is my first baby at 29 🙂

Congratulations everyone! X

HerSymphonyAndSong · 14/08/2019 21:28

I can’t justify an early scan, and I didn’t have one last time - by the time I got to 12 weeks I hardly dared believe there could really be a baby in there! But I completely understand the desire for reassurance
