Hi all, had a rotten weekend with vomiting, tummy pain and cramps (I think I just ate something bad while out) so just checking in now and skimming for the highlights - I'm sure I will miss something but have enjoyed quickly reading the chat! (Feel totally fine now by the way and baby is still kicking so nothing to worry about it seems!)
@MrsEG @purplefig I eat a LOT of quinoa (or at least I did before the pregnancy - approaching but not quite back to my normal diet yet!). I had actually forgotten how plain it was when cooked on its own! If it helps, I cook it in stock rather than plain water and it is then so so tasty. I also sometimes squeeze the juice of half a lemon in too. If you like variety in texture, you can usually pick up a tricolour quinoa in Tesco/Aldi/Lidl/health food shops. I use it for/with lots of things, but one of my quickest tasty meals that I love is simply sauteed onions, broccoli, mushroom and baby plum tomatoes on top of the quinoa - it can obviously be made deliciously fancier by roasting other tasty veg, but these four I always always have in my fridge so it's one of my fail-safe emergency meals and I find it really tasty. If I'm going heavy on the broccoli, I sometimes add and cook it in tahini paste.
Wow, that is a lot of detail that I didn't mean to go into and that no one asked for - sorry! I always am a bit mad about food as I've invested a lot of time and energy into building a healthy, tasty diet that suits myself and DH's quite annoyingly specific needs/preferences! It's gone out the window a lot since becoming pregnant as until recently I couldn't eat much that wasn't beige and was too tired to cook anyway, but we're slowly getting back to normal!
Re: bras. I must be the only one here who has technically gone DOWN a cup size 😂😂😂 I am definitely noticeably bigger up top, but upon measuring myself it would seem that my back measurement has increased a lot more than my boobs themselves have, and since the cup is determined by the difference between the two, I seem to have gone from a 32C to roughly a 34-36B 🤔😂
Re: MIL or indeed anyone at the birth you don't really want - no way!!! Wow. I totally accept that people like grandparents are excited to meet the baby, but wow. No. I can't even imagine how intense labour is and how vulnerable a woman might be (makes me so scared!). The birthing mother's desires have to have to have to come first. Maybe I'm lucky on this one as it's not even up for discussion - in my hospital, only one additional person is allowed in the birthing suite so obviously no one will start thinking they should take DH's place...well, I assume!
@Jessikka Congratulations! And I can say nothing about the tests considering I did 9... But I'm not sure I wasn't feeding my anxiety to be honest!
@MrsEG Oh dear, Father of the Groom speeches are very much a thing in Ireland! 😂 That said, I think we have a lot of speeches in general at weddings!
