@MrsEG good luck with the scan today! I swear I had a bagel OBSESSION a few weeks ago!! And cheese on toast 😂

@purplefig I know it's terrible isn't it, not even being able to enjoy the odd day (or half a day!) where you don't feel nauseous or off food because you worry. Mine has finally turned now at 13 weeks and barely have any at all, really able to enjoy food again!

@MrsEG I know... I'd love it if I could wear what I wanted! I'd live in joggers/t shirts at the moment! 😂😂 I ate horrendously in my first trimester, so hey, who's worrying? As long as you're eating something, it's better than nothing 😊

@MrsC87 you bounce away, girl!

Tropicana1 · 05/07/2019 13:51

@MrsC87 good luck!! Hope things get moving soon for you and you're not in hospital too much longer

@EltzBee I'm with you - there's nothing to gain from stressing out about it for ages beforehand. I'm going for a private scan on Sunday and if I've not heard from midwives before then (unlikely) then I'll chase them up on Monday, as I'll be 1 day off of nine weeks then.

@stormtrooperjulian so glad it's not just me! Just had a plate of oven chips for lunch. So nutritious. Oooo have fun at the nearly new sale.

@Tropicana1 yeah you're so right. I felt sick again before lunch, so it's really coming and going. It must be so nice being able to properly enjoy food again. I can't wait to fancy something other than potato!

Hi everyone, just a quick update from me, my baby girl was delivered on Tuesday by c section, after the induction failed, I am quite sore but baby is doing fantastic and I am so in love! x

BostonFern · 05/07/2019 14:06

Congratulations @RanchoRelaxo!

purplefig · 05/07/2019 14:15

@RanchoRelaxo amazing news - congratulations! Grin

BabySquid · 05/07/2019 14:15

Oh wow congratulations @RanchoRelaxo I bet you're over the moon. 💖

EltzBee · 05/07/2019 14:20

@stormtrooperjulian second hand wise, we got lots of sleep suits (ones with the feet, and with long arms where they 'fold down' over their little hands, rather than having to have separate scratch mitts). Also look out for vests!

We picked up some sleep bags 2nd hand - just make sure you know what tog they are (these are surprisingly expensive in the shops, I think we have 4 or 5 now which should be more than enough). Most say they can be used from when baby is about 8.5 to 9lbs.

Babies usually wear an extra layer than you, so usually they wear a nappy, vest, sleepsuit, potentially a cardi if it's chilly and nearly always a hat! :)

List of things to look out for 2nd hand:
Clothing:
Vests;
Sleepsuits;
Cardigans;
Hats;
Some little outfits/leggings if you see something you like!

Others:
Sleep Bags (check the tog level);
Bibs;

We got muslins brand new but you could pick them up 2nd hand too - we stocked up in Primark on them!

Size wise, we have probably got too much in up to 1 month, and we have absolutely loads 0 to 3. Most people I've spoken to have said when they get given gifts, quite often it's first size/0-3 too. We've got a few things in 3 to 6 + as well as we saw some bargains that we really liked the look of!

Remember that where stuff has been worn/washed/tumbled it might already be a little bit smaller, so would definitely say don't pick up loads of really small things!

We decided against getting a snowsuit/coat yet, as we're going to wait til baby has arrived and we know more what size they would need. There are usually mumtomum sales where I am every 2 or 3 months, and also FB marketplace has loads of bargains all the time.

Most of the stalls had things led out by age and type on the tables, and signs or labels saying how much things were. Some people had the rails hanging as well. Get there early if you want your pick of everything, they get busy really quickly, and take a bag for life or two with you - and cash!

EltzBee · 05/07/2019 14:24

@RanchoRelaxo congratulations! Hope you're recovering okay and getting lots of cuddles with her!

mrsof20118 · 05/07/2019 15:42

Huge congrats @RanchoRelaxo

purplefig · 05/07/2019 16:03

@MrsEG hope everything went well - thinking of you xx

MrsEG · 05/07/2019 16:14

Hi ladies, sorry I can’t tag you all in my shock - just an update from my scan:

So, the good news is all is fine - the huge unbelievable news is, there are two babies in my uterus! If I hadn’t had a scanning wand stuck up my vagina I’d have fallen off the table. Two yolk sacs and two heartbeats in two separate gestational sacs. We are delighted, so so happy but just completely stunned!! We have another scan next Friday to check the twins growth but currently measuring just over 6 weeks.

MrsEG · 05/07/2019 16:15

Ahhh congrats @RanchoRelaxo fantastic news xxx

purplefig · 05/07/2019 16:17

@MrsEG oh my giddy god!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely insanely incredible amazing news!!!!!! I am so over the moon for you!!!! Enjoy your well earned wagamamas lady!

LikeTheFruit · 05/07/2019 16:44

@MrsEG that's amazing news. There's a joke in there some where about buses!! So pleased for you, are you a twin family?

@RanchoRelaxo congratulations!!

BostonFern · 05/07/2019 16:59

@MrsEG that's absolutely amazing news! So happy for you! X

EltzBee · 05/07/2019 17:40

@MrsEG ah amazing news Hun! Xx

Fivebyfive2 · 05/07/2019 17:44

@RanchoRelaxo, congratulations sweet, take care and I'm so glad all went OK and your little girl is here safe and sound! Xx

@MrsEG, Omfg!!! That is absolutely amazing, I'm so so happy for you!! And lol about nearly falling off the table! Xxx

GemmaJen · 05/07/2019 17:54

@RanchoRelaxo Congratulations! It must be so lovely to finally have her in your arms ❤️. Sorry the induction didn't go to plan, hope you're feeling better soon x

@stormtrooperjulian we picked up a lovely like new pram suit from our local sale. Also got some reusable nappies and spent a while chatting to the lady selling them about what had and hadn't worked for her baby. Plus there was cake, everything is better with cake 😁

@MrsEG oh blummin heck, that's fantastic news! Got all fingers crossed for you, go enjoy your wagamanas, it sounds like you've earned it! 😁

MrsEG · 05/07/2019 18:22

@purplefig @LikeTheFruit @BostonFern @EltzBee @Fivebyfive2 @gemmajen Thank you, it was just the most surreal experience ever. We could see them both on a little screen and both just sobbed! They won’t share a placenta (non-identical) so much safer apparently but I will be monitored very carefully. I cannot believe it! No twins in the family whatsoever!

MrsR16 · 05/07/2019 18:40

@RanchoRelaxo congratulations!! It must be such a relief to have your little un here 😊

@MrsEG just echoing what I said on the TT thread - congratulations to you! After all the problems you've had, now you're going to have two to love!

mrsof20118 · 05/07/2019 20:42

@mrseg amazing news!! Bet that was a fabulous shock though x

thumper59 · 05/07/2019 20:51

@RanchoRelaxo congratulations!!!

@MrsEG aww that's amazing! I've never known anyone pregnant with twins so can't wait to see your updates!!!

thumper59 · 05/07/2019 20:52

I've put myself on spending ban I have bought way to many maternity dresses recently. I don't think I'll ever want to wear normal clothes again!
