@purplefig yeah, I was being sick every day throughout the day up to 21 weeks :o it was awful! Haha pregnancy bladder only gets worse, I'm pretty sure babies think it's a bouncy trampoline for them to jump on :p glad you've got your booking appointment through!

@BabySquid drink plenty of water, I found I was really bloated early on and water retention was worse. Bizarrely drinking more water does help to prevent and reduce bloating, and keeping hydrated is always good in pregnancy!!!

@LikeTheFruit hopefully they don't have a growth spurt in the next 1.5 weeks! lol

EltzBee · 09/07/2019 13:03

@thumper59 aw bless you, that's a big height difference! My DH is only a couple inches taller than me so I don't wear super high heels anyway. I wore my wedges when we went on holiday but that was 3 months ago, think I'l struggle with them all day now too! Definitely going for comfort.

Primark have some good basics in at the moment quite cheap, I got a super comfy skirt for £5 the other week, which I got to wear after baby but it's so comfy I'm wearing it already. George at Asda online have some really nice maternity wear too :)

BabySquid · 09/07/2019 13:04

@purplefig I'm 9 yesterday, went to another wedding just this weekend gone, just the evening do an I was going to wear a maxi but bloody hell I looked huge! Not just bloat that I'm sure of it! I'll try it on this weekend and see how it looks, I know I'll already need to get a new strapless for it 😫

@LikeTheFruit it's boobs too but not as bad! You rock them xmas socks girl!!

@thumper59 thanks, I'm not sure... my friend was showing quite a bump at 8 weeks! I'd love to show you all but I feel it's a bit of an invasion of her privacy, at 14 weeks she looked about 20 weeks! I don't think I'll be far behind her at this rate 🙈

purplefig · 09/07/2019 13:06

@thumper59 ahhh it'll be nice to get a proper break though. Just drink lots of water and get a fan! Grin

@EltzBee oh I honestly can't imagine how grim that must have been - 21 weeks as well!!! Ooo good tip about primark and George. I'm so bloated I'm living in my one stretchy maxi skirt haha.

@MrsC87 hope you're getting on OK lovely, thinking of you. x

purplefig · 09/07/2019 13:08

@BabySquid urghh I'm 8+5 and I feel ya. I feel huge already, but I reckon in my case it is mostly bloat! Convinced it was twins and thus a bump...but scan assured me there is just one in there! Fingers crossed the dress still fits - but if not you should be able to get something quickly on ASOS, gotta be comfortable.

BabySquid · 09/07/2019 13:09

@EltzBee I go through at least 4 or 5 pints of water each day, and practically quit all hot drinks at the mo. I don't think it's water, it could be bloat but it's not going down no matter what I do :(

purplefig · 09/07/2019 13:11

@BabySquid you may well just have an early bump - it must happen. We're all different aren't we, and some people don't show until aaaages, so the reverse must happen? I know mine is bloat as I wake up with it fairly flat and it progressively inflates over the course of the day Grin.

MrsEG · 09/07/2019 13:27

@purplefig @BabySquid Jumping in on the bloat stuff, i’m the same - it gets progressively bigger throughout the day but then goes back down again first thing - I’ve heard that’s pretty normal in the first trimester. I’m drinking a lot of sparkling water as I’ve really gone off ‘plain’ water so I don’t think that’s helping. Consultant said with twins I will track 6 weeks ahead too bump-wise and from 16 weeks I’ll struggle to hide it anymore... @BabySquid Can you try your dress on now? My sister was pregnant at my wedding and we did a few try ons the weeks before - luckily it fit on the day!

BabySquid · 09/07/2019 13:31

@MrsEG yeah I'll be trying it this weekend.
I also have another wedding where I'm MOH on the 10th August so I'm hoping that dress will fit too as I defo can't get a new one of them! But luckily that one is quite floaty around the belly, just not so much under the bust!

MrsEG · 09/07/2019 13:35

@BabySquid Fingers crossed! I’m sure some of mine is gas too - i’m a bloody delight to be around at the moment, burping and tooting left right and centre 🙈 For the wedding in August does the bride know you’re expecting? Would you feel comfortable telling her? I’m sure you could then maybe arrange a quick try on nearer the time.

BabySquid · 09/07/2019 13:44

@MrsEG she doesn't yet but she's being a total beidezilla and really unsupportive of things that I've suggested like for the morning, but I'll be telling her soon, now our parents know so hopefully she'll understand a few things then! We're all getting ready separately in our own homes, wedding is at 2, and she's requested that I get to hers, all made up and dress on, by 10:30!! So I said no don't see the point being sat there and she kicked up a right fuss!

BabySquid · 09/07/2019 13:44

MrsR16 · 09/07/2019 13:53

Hi ladies, sorry I've been proper AWOL recently! Life is incredibly busy at the moment. However, I had a midwife appointment this morning and I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time 😍😍 just an awesome sound! It's a proper wriggler though, just like the sonographers said - it kept bopping the doppler! 😂 I still can't feel it properly yet, but midwife said it should be any time now really especially with it being such a wriggler.

MrsEG · 09/07/2019 14:05

@BabySquid How ridiculous, what on earth does she need you there that early for! Yeah I think once you’ve told her she will hopefully relax a little!

@MrsR16 Ahh how lovely - must have been amazing! I’m sure you’ll feel some wriggles soon!

BabySquid · 09/07/2019 14:25

@MrsEG that's what I said.. but to say I'm meant to be MOH, when I told her I didn't see why, she instantly came back with 'the other two don't see an issue!' So clearly she'd told them before me!
I just hope she does relax a bit otherwise I can see me just not doing it at all!

thumper59 · 09/07/2019 15:02

@EltzBee love primark. I've been getting loads off boohoo. What are you wearing with the skirts? I'm struggling to style skirts as feel like an egg with a shorter top on and a skirt 😂

@purplefig for definite. I can't wait to be away! We've got next years booked too with 2 x unborn babies already booked on! 😂 I felt huge quick but it was all bloat. Then 12-16 I didn't feel like much was happening then from around 17 weeks I've had a bump, it's just rounded off in the last few weeks 😃

mrsof20118 · 09/07/2019 15:59

Had contractions last night and ended up going into unit as just under full term. Was monitored and examined and they weren't sure if waters had gone but looks like it was my mucus plug. Got bad cramps today but hard to tell if latent labour or just from the speculum poking about x

BabySquid · 09/07/2019 16:08

@mrsof20118 oooooh fingers crossed for you, how far off full term are you?

MrsEG · 09/07/2019 16:09

@mrsof20118 oh wow, sounds like it could all be starting for you soon! Hope you’re not too uncomfortable. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

EltzBee · 09/07/2019 16:11

@thumper59 I've got some longer length vest tops that I got from Sainsburys last year, and are long enough that they still cover my bump (yay!); I got some maternity t-shirts from New Look too which are really comfy. They both work well with skirts :) I've been finding that with longer skirts, a strappy/vest style top and then a shrug style cardi works well and makes me feel like I still have a waist! Bonus on those is that they don't have to do-up so my existing shrugs still fit perfectly.

BostonFern · 09/07/2019 16:56

Thanks for the scan well wishes. We've had our twenty week scan and all is looking good with baby! I have placenta previa, so that'll be monitored when I go for the growth scans and 🤞 it moves! I'll put a photo up, he was a little awkwardly positioned though and was enjoying tipping his face into the placenta!

@purplefig glad to hear you've got your booking appointment sorted.

@MrsR16 How lovely to hear the heartbeat!

@mrsof20118 sounds like you haven't got long to wait now!

mrsof20118 · 09/07/2019 17:40

@BabySquid 36 + 6 today x

MrsR16 · 09/07/2019 18:04

@mrsof20118 I hope you're doing ok! Must be quite scary!

@BostonFern beautiful scan picture! 😊

MrsEG · 09/07/2019 18:25

@BostonFern Amazing picture!! So pleased it has all gone well!

So I have today officially gone off my favourite food in the world - halloumi. I’m just staring at it on my plate - for some reason it just tastes really bitter now. What fresh hell is this!!

BostonFern · 09/07/2019 18:28

Thanks @MrsEG @MrsR16!

Oh no @MrsEG hopefully you'll get the taste for it again after the first trimester.
