Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

@Marleym28 I've told my seniors but I'm nurse in ED and have to be careful with manual handling etc but it's hard not telling f everyone else when I say I can't do certain things that I've always done.

tisonlymeagain · 05/06/2019 09:40

I only work in an office so won't be telling them until I need to which I suspect will be around mid-August.

InOmniaParatus13 · 05/06/2019 12:05

Hi all!
Hope it’s okay to join.
I got my bfp last week, and it now feels even more real as my period was due yesterday!
My worst symptoms so far have been nausea for a couple of weeks (great fun on an hour long train commute every day) headaches, and tiredness. My god the tiredness is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before!
I’m going to book an early scan for 8 weeks just to check everything is okay.
Feeling very lucky and praying this wee one sticks 🙏🏻

ZeppyLoo · 05/06/2019 13:00

Hello! I’ve said hi on the other thread but this one looks like the main one so thought I’d move over!

I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow; my first pregnancy. So far just feeling tired, but no other symptoms as of yet. Very excited but also trying to reign it in a little as it’s such early days...

Congratulations to you all and wishing all of you a healthy happy pregnancy.

EllieJaye · 05/06/2019 13:14

Hi everyone new Grin

I keep checking the thread to see how everyone is, I've not contributed much as I'm really nervous about early stages and don't want to be a negative Nancy! Blush

Hope everyone is feeling ok

LilySouthWest · 05/06/2019 13:28

I'm 4 weeks + 2 days and I'm due around 11 February 2020. It's my first pregnancy at 39. I did two tests on Sunday 2 June which were both positive on 14 DPO. I have had some symptoms mostly cramping, bloating, headaches but I did feel better today. I got between thinking I am pregnant and then maybe I am not! It's freaking me out a bit. I also can't tell my partner yet as we don't live together and he is in the middle of writing his masters dissertation plus running his business. Will tell him once he hands it in at end of next week.

tisonlymeagain · 05/06/2019 13:32

Nice user name, Gilmore Girls fan? @InOmniaParatus13 I might book an early scan.

@LilySouthWest Congrats Lily, I am also 39 but it's my third. Last one was 12 years ago though!

bessie84 · 05/06/2019 13:48

WELCOME new ladies :-) how exciting + shit scary this all is.

I've woke up a different person. yesterday i was symptomless - today im a mess. terrible nausea, soooo tired, stabby pains, headaches... good lord what the hells happened over night... so now that i have these symptoms, if these disappear, ill be different all over again. its all so scary when you've had losses.

lilysouthwest wow - that'll keep some holding in not telling your other half. eeekkk.

waves to everyone.

bessie84 · 05/06/2019 13:49

EllieJaye - im a negative nancy too. i like to read rather than post. im super anxious too. gentle squeezes xxx

hakunamutata · 05/06/2019 15:00

Hi everyone!

Can I join too.... due 9 Feb 2020! :)

I am 33 and have endometriosis. It was our first try so I feel very blessed but also quite anxious and worried because of my endo.

I got a negative on 11 DPO and then 3 positives at different times of the day on 14 DPO. Since then I have had more bowel movements, mild cramping on and off, no spotting, slightly tender breasts but nothing more than with a period, I pee constantly and am a bit bloated and also very gassy/windy! I also developed an early waking up habit 5 or so days ago and seem to not be able to seep past 5am anymore. My resting HR has also risen from 52-60 over the last 7 days. Took another test this morning and the line is much darker now so fingers crossed I have a sticky baby.

So... how do I stop feeling so worried... argh!!!

tisonlymeagain · 05/06/2019 16:48

I'm so anxious at the moment because I'm not really feeling pregnant but just found a FRER that I hadn't used in my drawer. Hardly any control line. I googled it and someone had phoned up FR and apparently it's when the HCG is so high it's pulling the dye from the control line. Going to take that as a good sign!

BFP - Anyone else due February 2020?
Marleym28 · 05/06/2019 17:27

Welcome newbies

I think we're all feeling very similar in the fact we are obviously happy and want to be excited but equally anxious.
Don't worry about being negative as I think certain things have crossed all our minds at some point so far.

Ive not heard of the early scans, is that private presumably?

hakunamutata · 05/06/2019 17:45

I am about to go away on holiday for two weeks and is it wrong that I would rather be here so I could book in an early scan haha!!

EllieJaye · 05/06/2019 18:21

@marleym28 yes I've booked one with Babybond, I'm not involving the NHS just yet, if my early scan is all good then I'll think about it but I'm avoiding hospital tbh which is where all booking in appointments etc are held around here

Hall84 · 05/06/2019 18:59

I self referred today to our local centre and they've booked to see me next week. I did give them the dates but just a bit worried it's too early as I thought the first appointment wasn't until 7/8 weeks?

EllieJaye · 05/06/2019 19:06

@hall84 I'm sure it differs in different areas. I can't self refer here anyway, gp would have to do it, then booking in appt is with a midwife at hospital anytime from 6 weeks

EllieJaye · 05/06/2019 19:08

Im worried because I did a clear blue digital weeks indicator test and now the estimated weeks isn't going up. I know a blood test is only way to be sure but I honestly can't face all that again. I just cant

Bettythecat · 05/06/2019 19:10

@Marleym28 you can pay for them privately or if you have had a miscarriage before or if there are other reasons (such as bleeding) the NHS would offer one too. These are sometimes called reassurance scans.

@tisonlymeagain that sounds like great news to me!! I know exactly what you mean about not feeling pregnant- my symptoms are pretty minor right now- mainly just painful boobs. I've actually just been out to buy a CB digital test so that I can see the words- hoping it will say 2-3 weeks and reassure me!

@EllieJaye how come you want to avoid hospitals if you don't mind me asking? It is just because they are a bit icky? You would get a booking appointment (where they take bloods, weight etc) following by a scan at 12 weeks on the NHS.

Bettythecat · 05/06/2019 19:14

Sorry @EllieJaye didn't see your second post. The CN digital ones have a huge range I think. So for example 1-2 weeks would detect HCG between 5 and 300 (not sure what the actual numbers are). So it wouldn't detect a change in weeks if you were between that range even if your numbers are doubling like they should be. Try not to worry I'm sure all is fine.

EllieJaye · 05/06/2019 19:28

@bettythecat its fine, i am trying so hard not to focus on worries, all the while spending a fortune on tests of varying types!

I've had 2 miscarriages which involved lots of hospital visits, blood draws, bad news scans. So decided to avoid for a bit. However it seems I've found something to worry about anyway!!

Hall84 · 05/06/2019 19:31

Thank you @EllieJaye. I've seen a lot on here about the clear blue weeks indicators but I'm sure that won't help. I hope the time doesn't drag to get to your scan and all goes well

Hall84 · 05/06/2019 19:32

I'm so sorry to hear about your previous experiences.

Newbie21 · 05/06/2019 19:36

@EllieJaye I had the same issue got a 1-2 then did another one (pack of 2 why not) a few days later expecting it to have gone up but I didn't. I then waited a few more days (bought another!) and did it this morning and it did go up but what I noticed was, sorry for the TMI, my wee looked a lot more concentrated this morning than it did the other time I did it and that would definitely be a factor - these tests really are not accurate - too many variables. Only way to check HCG is blood tests so do not fret about the weeks indicator. I know it's hard when you have experienced losses before.

EllieJaye · 05/06/2019 21:32

Thanks @Newbie21. I have bought another pack of 2 so we shall see what happens next time! What are we like!?

Bettythecat · 05/06/2019 22:04

@EllieJaye I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. I've had one and it was so awful so I can imagine how devastating two must be. Try to stay positive and keep busy (terrible advice I know as it's impossible!). One other thing about those CB tests is that you have to use FMU to get an accurate result apparently- that could be another thing to consider.
