@flapjackered I'm too nice, I just explained why I hadn't but afterwards thought actually, why should I have to explain? I didnt ask any of them why they weren't driving!
Hmm tricky on the consult front, I guess it's up to you. I'd be tempted to go and see what the private one says as well if you know they are more experienced, but it's difficult as the NHS might not be able to offer you the same things. I would also struggle with having 2 separate opinions as I'm indecisive as it is anyway, but every doctor will do things slightly differently from one another NHS or not, so if you do go for both I'd go in with an open mind and try not to pre empt that the private one is automatically better than the NHS one. I always remember that with private clinics they have their stats to think about as well, so are more likely to offer invasive treatment you don't necessarily need based on the fact its more likely to be successful if that makes sense. Not that that's a bad thing, but hopefully they wouldn't jump to a treatment like ivf too quickly if there was a chance of doing it naturally or less invasively (or more cheaply) successfully as well. I did look into it a bit when ttc but not loads. What do you think you will do? How expensive is it? Lol. You'll get in privately much quicker too I imagine, have you got an appt booked?

You might have ov'd, the temp can rise a couple of days after, sometimes not always the day after or day of.
But enjoy DTD just in case! Still worked for us even the day of the rise!
We DTD for the first time in ages yesterday. Then the baby got hiccups after!!! Could feel them really clearly! DH said we must have given them her by DTD and scaring her! Haha. I'm currently sat in a messy messy house, but I'm too tired to be arsed clearing it up. I reckon this is what it'll be like in a few months.....

Xx

@eltzbee god you're so organised. I started making a list of things to do this morning but I was so tired I gave up even on the list! Is it you that has spreadsheets? I think I'm going to make one, and note down the baby clothes we have already got at the moment so that we know what else we need to get.
We have a baby shower in a month and also I know work will be doing a collection (literally do it with everyone) when I leave, so anticipating I may get asked if there's anything we need.

Still feel like there's so much to get!

Great you've done the drawers etc. I feel a bit stuck with our nursery as the furniture doesn't come until 21st June, so I don't really want to think about decor til it's all built and I can see the room. We will paint it before then, but that's all.

@Crossfitgirl oh yes I love my spreadsheets 😊😊😊🤣 I'm a weirdo. Budgeting has been done for a while and I updated it this week with the new figures (yay).

I find an app called "Keep" from Google really helpful for lists and things - DH and I both use it and share lists so our baby items list we both have access to it, and can tick things off as we get them.

I have some fabric left from the chair and was going to make curtains, but picked a pair of blackout ones up in the sale so I'm going to take them up and try to add a panel of the chair fabric to it... Fingers crossed. Need to get the pole put up first though.

I realized our nursery was all very beige and white, so decided to inject some colour with flashes of red as we're having a woodland theme with lots of foxes too (I love foxes). The walls will all be staying white so I think it will look good. I know it isn't a "normal" colour choice and had a weird panic because it wasn't pink or yellow 🤣 sometimes just need a bit of colour right!!

Lol @ DTD giving the baby hiccups! See that makes me feel even more freaked out about the idea haha.

I need to go through all the baby clothes we have too. I have a list of what we bought second hand from one lady but need to add to it the stuff we got from nearly new sale and the bits we got new ... We have lots but I'm sure there will be some things we still need more of!

I'm sure 21st will roll around quick, just make sure you have space for all the boxes! Our wardrobe comes Thursday so I'm hoping we can build that next weekend and then that's the furniture all done... Pram is due first week in June now too...

It's getting so real isn't it.

Have you got ideas for your decor? We have wall stickers but going to get them done in July once we're happy with furniture positions and things.

When do you finish work? I'm not finishing till 16th August, holiday used then maternity leave starting my due date of 30th. So guess part of my being organised is knowing I won't have much time to do things then and figuring it's easier to do stuff now whilst physically I feel like I can? Hope that makes sense...

Delilah7 · 26/05/2019 09:21

@Crossfitgirl thanks Hun. It is :( I also understand the pregnant why aren't you driving us comments. Fucking annoying as shit!! I don't wanna look after drunk people just because I'm pregnant does not mean I don't wanna let my hair down too! Xx

@FlapJackered thank you, me too. I just don't want him in pain anymore and he is. It's so sad x x

Is it bad me and OH haven't had sex since we found out 😂😂😂 we've literally done nothing else either with the hyperemesis I couldn't for like nearly 20 weeks and then when I was getting horny the bump had grown and he was like hmmmmm... I think this might be weird 😂😂

Fivebyfive2 · 26/05/2019 09:50

@crossfitgirl, the driving thing sounds really annoying! You shouldn't have to explain, it is not like now you're pregnant you're just a taxi driver!!

@eltzbee, I am in awe of your organisation. I seriously have images of us sorting stuff like the weekend before or something! My mum will probably, ahem, get involved if we're not organised though 😂

@delilah7, it sounds like you've really been through it with this pregnancy. Thinking of you and I'm glad the Dr's are keeping an eye xx

Re the subject of sex... I'm only 7 weeks and already getting a feeling it's just gonna be really up and down (no pun intended!) We've dtd about 4 times since the bfp... dh was unsure at the very start but I felt quite up for it. But this week he's been up for it (May be to do with my boobs getting a little bigger?!) and even I did feel like it. .. We started and my body was just like... Nah bro, not happening!! Weird. Luckily we've been having a laugh about it. We'll see how things go I guess!

Delilah7 · 26/05/2019 09:51

@Fivebyfive2 I feel like it! There's a lot of people worse than me but it's a lot for me and my body to handle. :( xxx

FlapJackered · 26/05/2019 09:56

@Crossfitgirl it's £250 so not cheap, but apparently the consultant is the best in the south west so should hopefully be able to look at my blood tests and see a problem if there is one. It's booked for the 21st June. I haven't heard when the nhs one is yet so it may take a while. Arg I don't know what to do! I think the nhs one will be the same hospital but with a different more junior consultant so I am sure if the good one suggests something the nhs one will go with it. Tough one!
😂 that is hilarious that the baby got hiccups after you Dtd! I hear when you get to a certain time near the end of the pregnancy you start nesting and tidying everything so definitely not worth bothering now when you don't have the energy, that is what DHs are for 😂.

@EltzBee I can completely understand that, I think I will be so careful if I get a bfp again.
I think you're right about the appointment. I want to get the best advice I can at this stage and hopefully he will be able to advise the nhs consultant. 🤞🏻

Good luck ladies! I will keep checking back on here but please let us know on the ttc board when there are any births! Xxx ❤️

mrsof20118 · 26/05/2019 14:19

@crossfitgirl @EltzBee potentially. Our rental lease ends on 28th July and paying 1k a month just for rent (joys of South West living!). Think will see what happens this week with paperwork being sent to solicitors and see if they think its realistic. Think I'm extra worried as bump measuring ahead and just all the unknowns.

@Crossfitgirl feel you on the no sleep. I'm repeatedly waking up around 2 for a wee and struggling to get back to sleep. Went back to bed at 7 this morning and then woke up at 12. Sucks about the driving thing just because you are pregnant does not make you a taxi driver x

mrsof20118 · 26/05/2019 14:24

Sorry to hear of bad news @Delilah7. You've had a rough time, I hope that you luck out with a really good baby boy x

Delilah7 · 26/05/2019 14:28

@mrsof20118 wouldn't it be good x x

Crossfitgirl · 26/05/2019 15:04

@eltzbee I'm going to download that list app, but I do like a good handwritten list!
I wanted a neutral nursery, but DH has persuaded me to go pink, so we're doing one wall a very subtle pink and so it'll be pink and grey (grey furniture, grey carpet already). I've seen a cot mobile I liked for colour inspo (Ava Rose from mamas and papas) and thought I'd get that and accessorise around it, but really don't know... I don't want it to be too pink! I'd wanted neutral walls and maybe a few pink accessories. We'll see how it turns out!
Have you felt like sex at all? I have been quite horny! I think my bump puts DH off a bit though.
Oh you'll have to send pics when you get the rest done and your pram! I can't wait to get ours! You sound so good and crafty. I have seen some super cute knitted baby things on Pinterest and debated taking up knitting if I get bored in the mat leave before baby comes. Try and make a little cardi or something!
I'm finishing work 10th July so got 4 weeks before due date of 9th August. I've got a few 3 day weeks before that too. Yay!

Yes def get stuff done now while you feel like it. I'm 29+2 and definitely just coming to the turning point I think... starting to feel like I can't do as much, most days are totally fine but I've started having a few more than before of the "odd days" now where I feel heavy, tired and not arsed to do anything.

@flapjackered ahh just go for it then, let us know how it goes!!

@delilah7 @fivebyfive2 exactly... Wish I hadnt bothered going out tbh lol it was rubbish for me!

@mrsof20118 yeah see what they think. If you're measuring ahead nearer the due date there's a possibility they might want to induce you early too, it's just so unknown though isn't it. DH has a stag do 4 weeks before my due date in Amsterdam and I'm even a bit worried about him going to that! Lol. Just cos you have no idea with it being all our firsts do you, the babies will just come when they want!

I’m jealous of how organised you all are with nursery furniture and decorating etc! We’re still in the middle of house renovation work, of course it’s dragging on way longer than originally planned and the house is a building site at the moment so thinking about the nursery is way down our priorities list!

I’m going to tell work about the pregnancy tomorrow. So far (I’m 23 weeks) only my line manager knows. Telling HR is just a simple email I assume but I have no idea how to tell my team, I work with all men and I just don’t know how to bring it up? Or should I just turn up in a fitted top and wait for someone to comment? It just feels like a private thing and I feel really awkward talking about it, and I really don’t want to be treated differently because of it. I’ve been on holiday for 3 weeks now and I’m noticeably showing, no way I can hide it any more.

EltzBee · 27/05/2019 13:47

@stormtrooperjulian I work with mostly men too, I brought a load of cakes/cookies in, popped a humorous notice up with them and posted that in our slack channel with a note saying cakes in the kitchen. Everyone was chuffed and I didn't feel like I was under pressure going I have something to say. Nobody had guessed either (I was 17/18 weeks and starting to struggle to hide it!).

Delilah7 · 27/05/2019 20:09

London's hospital trip is tomorrow. Very nervous 😔

EltzBee · 28/05/2019 10:24

@Delilah7 good luck today Hun, sending you hugs. What time is your appointment? Hope it goes well and is okay getting there and back too. Let us know how you get on xx

MrsR16 · 28/05/2019 12:14

@Delilah7 all my thoughts are with you, lovely! Keep us updated xx

Delilah7 · 28/05/2019 15:52

@MrsR16 @EltzBee thanks guys.
.
Little mans heart looks good ‘overall’ however they are concerned about his aorta. One of the main bits of the heart. They are concerned that it’s coarctation of the aorta which means his aorta is measuring smaller and narrower than it should be. This can’t be properly diagnosed till after birth but I will have to give birth at a special hospital and little man will have to have a scan on his heart straight after he’s born. If he has it, which he does have the narrowing and smaller part for it there’s three options, 1) drip full of medicine to keep this duct open that supplies blood to bits of his body 2) surgery through his side or 3) chest surgery. Xxx

mrsof20118 · 28/05/2019 17:09

Hope you are OK @Delilah7. Have they said which hospital you need to go to? The positive part is the fact they know now means he will get the best care as soon as he is born. My friends boy was born and had to have immediate bowel surgery and was in NICU for a few months but he is absolutely thriving now. Doctors can work wonders these days x

EltzBee · 28/05/2019 17:19

@Delilah7 sending hugs, like @mrsof20118 says the good news is that at they know in advance that potentially they might need to do something, so you'll be in the right place straight away and they can do their checks and plan next steps if they're needed. The doctors definitely can work absolute miracles; my old neighbour had triplets born at 24+3 and they are now three thriving little boys, they of course needed all sorts of help when they were first born but you wouldn't know it now!

How are you feeling? If you need to chat, just let us know and we're all here for you. xx

Delilah7 · 28/05/2019 17:43

@mrsof20118 the evalina in London would of taken me but closest is Addenbrookes to me!
I'm super excited to meet him but now apprehensive due to all this :( xx

@EltzBee I'm just trying to stay positive. It's just one thing after another now though :(
I'm ok. Exhausted. Upset. Worried. Scared. I don't even know anymore xxx

MrsR16 · 28/05/2019 18:16

@Delilah7 the Rosie will look after you - I heard nothing but praise for the staff there when I worked at Addenbrookes! I'm glad Ethan's doing ok though! Xx

Delilah7 · 28/05/2019 18:18

@MrsR16 my sister in law went there when west Suffolk we're negligent and caused endless problems with my nephew. They're amazing xxx

thumper59 · 28/05/2019 18:36

@Delilah7 I know it's a worrying time for you but it's good that they are so aware and as others have said- the doctors are amazing!! Little Ethan is and will be fabulous 😊

I'm 17+1 today and feeling like I haven't had any 'bump' progress in a while. I just look a bit porky. When did everyone else their bump? I think im worrying over nothing...

Delilah7 · 28/05/2019 18:46

@thumper59 thank you!
I didn't get mine till after 20 weeks so don't worry too much! Mines still quite small for a 33 week pregnant lady! Xx

Fivebyfive2 · 28/05/2019 18:54

@delilah7, try to stay positive if you can although I know that's easy to say. As everyone has said, it sounds like they're really on the ball and they can do so much nowadays. Thinking of you guys xxx
