@Fivebyfive2 Doh did they already know?! On scans btw from my perspective, we chose not to pay for an early one because I would have still worried between the 8 week early scan and 12 week NHS scan that something would go wrong still. We did pay for a 16 week gender scan which made the time to the 20 one a lot more bearable! I know some ladies have found early one reassuring though so it probably depends on you and if it would make you feel less worried for the rest of the time or just for that moment?

Fivebyfive2 · 20/05/2019 21:33

@EltzBee, that's exactly how I feel, mostly!! We'll probably wait for 12 weeks and just go to hospital if something happens in between, hopefully not though!!

@Tropicana1, glad to hear you're feeling better!! Xx

Well! They knew I'd miscarried before, but I Think we managed to salvage it... I just added really quick that we're hoping to catch soon so aren't making too many far off plans!! Not sure if the believed it, but they probably won't say anything until we confirm it later down the road. MEN!! 😂

thumper59 · 20/05/2019 21:50

Just sadly put my primark bargain dress in the wash after practically living in it for a week... don't know how I'll cope in a different outfit tomorrow 😂😂

DayDreamer1707 · 21/05/2019 07:49

@thumper59 think we might pay for one, OH is also very keen to see the little one. We are lucky and get groupon offers for them for about £35.

@Fivebyfive2 I have been thinking the exact same as you!! I want to treat this as a completely new and exciting pregnancy but last time I had a scan at 11 weeks and baby had stopped developing at 7 weeks. That's a whole month of not knowing and I just thought that was really cruel. As silly as it sounds I had a feeling things weren't right, like this time I had a feeling I was pregnant. I've booked in for our 8 week appointment and would love a scan that day too. X

@Tropicana1 sorry do you mean this will be your first scan? Bet you are looking forward to getting things booked.

thumper59 · 21/05/2019 08:10

@DayDreamer1707 I'm so sorry about your previous experiences. This was the first time I ever fell pregnant, but I am a natural born worrier! I found seeing baby gave me reassurance and also reading that after seeing a heart beat at 8 weeks I think you've got about a 98% (could be wrong) chance of successful pregnancy really gave me some peace of mind. If I have any other children I will do it again 😊

Tropicana1 · 21/05/2019 09:05

@Fivebyfive2 ah good save! Hopefully 😂 what are men like!

@DayDreamer1707 I had an early scan at 6 weeks because I'd had to have an emergency surgery at 4 + 3 weeks which could have impacted the baby, now I've got my normal midwife booking appointment on the 5th and then they will book my 12 week scan at that time :) x

Crossfitgirl · 21/05/2019 20:15

@fivebyfive2 @daydreamer1707 On the scan front we also decided to wait for the 12 week one, I figured something could still happen upto that point either way and I felt it wouldn't change anything for me. I totally get why people do have them though, and they can also be very reassuring. It's personal choice, there's no right and wrong!

I'm currently sat in the bath and baby was going mental, so I whipped the video camera out and she is now just blatantly hiding. She does it every time. I can never get the massive kicks on cam anymore!

Had a super emotional day yesterday, I've def had another super big growth spurt as I've felt so big, lethargic and tummy tight, hardly slept and oh the heartburn!! I cried for literally about 2 hours when DH got home because he pointed out I'd had the day off and not emptied the dishwasher. (I had been out most of the day).

Such hormones!

Feel loads better today though!

Also, got pissed off earlier. been to a PGP group at the physio, and was so disappointed to hear them discourage me from continuing to do crossfit. I always feel so good after exercising, I actually feel "less pregnant" and lighter and more able to move afterwards. I'd asked about any specific modifications for crossfit, and all she could say was I shouldn't be doing it and to try pilates or yoga instead! I even explained I just do what feels comfortable and scale back a lot compared to normal, but when i said weightlifting was a part of crossfit she basically had a fit. I am currently only lifting a fraction of what I was before, but yet she was saying how it's far too heavy. She didn't seem to comprehend that for me, a 7kg weight is really, really light, having done crossfit for a long time and normally lifting several times heavier than that! Even squatting with an empty bar (which weighs 15kg) would be really light for me. Just no thought to individuals at all, just because the rest of the group (a show of hands showed nobody else even exercised) are all sedentary and not used to it, clearly everyone should do gently gently stretches or something, rather than just scaling back what my body is clearly very used to.

Just so fed up of how precious everyone is about pregnant people. Mustn't lift a finger obviously! Even if it's helping me sleep and feel better! I bloody hate pilates it's so fucking boring lol.

Rant over!

Hello lovely ladies! So after my BFP post the other day, I sadly lost the pregnancy - making it my third MC. We are being referred for tests now and I am trying with all my might to stay positive for now. Will definitely be checking in here every now and again now so many of you are so close to due dates! Good luck and can not wait to hear of all the babas ♥️

@Crossfitgirl Girl, ignore it. I train a lot and my DH is a PT with pre and post natal quals and he would assure you you’re doing everything right. Do exactly as you did before with modifications and just knock down the intensity, which sounds like is exactly as you are doing. You will have so much more energy for it and many women find the recovery post-birth easier too. DH had a client recently who was in weight training until 38 weeks. You do exactly what feels right for YOU and ignore all the noise.

Crossfitgirl · 21/05/2019 22:16

@mrsEG thank you, that's actually really good to hear. I follow a few preggo crossfit people on Instagram and have read up on stuff, our coaches are really good at modifying things for me and I feel totally happy with what I'm doing, it's just disappointing as if I didn't know all that stuff, I might have genuinely thought I had to stop exercising and listen to the NHS Healthcare professional as "they know best".

I'm so so sorry to hear that you've had another MC. You must be heartbroken, but I'm glad they are referring you for tests and looking into it. I don't know if it helps at all, but its definitely more common than we think, I have 3 friends who have had multiple MCs - but all have gone on to have healthy natural pregnancies, it's just awful to have to go through loss to get there. I feel extremely lucky to be where I am. Sending you all my love and I hope to see you go on to have your healthy baby soon ❤️❤️❤️

@Crossfitgirl Yep, totally ignore it! You’ll honestly find it’s typically folk who have never stepped foot inside a gym in their lives who are the most critical. Every GP, midwife and doctor I have spoken with all told me that continuing with your usual exercise regime is actively encouraged and better equips you for labour. I actually had someone ask me if I thought my exercise had made me miscarry, REALLY! Had to answer that one through gritted teeth.

Thank you lovely, I’m actually coping okay. I am just staying positive and hopeful that it will still happen for us one day, somehow! Just hoping we aren’t waiting too long on the tests now. And yes, we’ve also got a few friends who have had several losses and still have a family. For some reason, nature just makes some of us work bloody hard for it!! X

EltzBee · 22/05/2019 09:11

@MrsEG so sorry to hear you've miscarried, sending best wishes your way. I hope the tests are soon and that it won't be long til you have a healthy little baby. xx

@Crossfitgirl that's crazy, surely if you're already used to doing a lot of exercise then as long as you don't overdo it it should be fine?! Mind you I was told by my midwife to take things easy and not to go running etc so guess the advice just varies? Tbh with how sick I've been I wouldn't have been able to anyway though! I'd have liked to go swimming but the local pool is grotty so not wanted to go anywhere near that lol.

Feeling super tired this week, wondering if baby is having a growth spurt or something!

Delilah7 · 22/05/2019 12:34

@MrsEG thinking of you xxxx

MrsR16 · 22/05/2019 17:40

@MrsEG I'm so sorry to read your news. I hope the tests give you some answers!

So ladies, following another spotting scare, I now have an early scan booked in at my early pregnancy unit! It's next Wednesday... I'll be 10 weeks then. I'm super petrified at the moment!!

EltzBee · 22/05/2019 19:05

@MrsR16 sending hugs, hopefully it's nothing bad (I know a few ladies here have had spotting), and that Wednesday goes well for you xx

Got my GTT tomorrow morning, not looking forward to not being able to have breakfast (I still feel sick if I don't eat in the morning!). Not sure drinking water is going to cut it! Got to have 3 bloods taken over the morning. Pin cushion time!

mrsof20118 · 22/05/2019 19:17

So sorry to hear your news @MrsEG. Hopefully they can start the investigations soon and you can move forward into getting the right support if necessary x

@MrsR16 hope you are OK too. Can they get you in any earlier on a walk in and wait from referral? X

mrsof20118 · 22/05/2019 19:18

@Crossfitgirl I'm still going to body pump classes. Admittedly getting harder but just not increasing weights and modifying. Think it's been the best thing for me during the pregnancy to have something consistent that I enjoy and good for mental wellbeing too x

MrsR16 · 22/05/2019 19:31

@EltzBee I've gotta stay positive! It won't help little Peanut if I don't 😊 xx

@mrsof20118 quite possibly, but if they're happy for me to wait a week, so am I! Plus I get to see the little un twice in 2 weeks 😂 xx

EltzBee · 22/05/2019 20:33

Very true @MrsR16 😊😊😊

Has anyone got any exciting plans for the bank holiday weekend? I'm hoping we can start building our nursery furniture ☺️

Crossfitgirl · 22/05/2019 22:33

Aahh @mrsr16 I hope all is well, you do right to stay positive. Let us know how the scan goes, and in the meantime... Distractions!
@mrsof20118 good on you, I've not been all week as I've been feeling a bit rubbish but I always feel great when I go. @mrsEG I told the midwife and she poo pooed the physio and told me it's fine and to keep doing what I'm doing!
@eltzbee good luck for the GTT!
I'm going to a bottomless brunch this weekend, mocktails for me, then we are wallpapering the living room. Not as exciting as nursery furniture but ours doesn't come for ages!

Xx

MrsR16 · 22/05/2019 22:38

Thanks @Crossfitgirl I hope everything's ok too! My sisters have been amazing this evening, both messaging me (even the one in the states!) checking up on me 😊 it's times like this I'm glad I've told them xx

stormtrooperjulian · 23/05/2019 02:54

@Fivebyfive2 I’m sure your friends will be discrete enough to not say anything til you confirm it! I’d have been so annoyed with DH if he’d done something like that!

@Crossfitgirl I do a lot of HIIT and lifting and I’ve been told that I can carry on (with appropriate modifications) for as long as I feel comfortable doing so. I am expecting that towards the end I’ll want to slow down and start swimming more instead but til then I’ll carry on as normal.

@MrsEG I’m so sorry to hear your news. I hope it doesn’t take long to get the tests done. It will definitely happen for you one day, keep believing that.

EltzBee · 23/05/2019 11:55

How are you feeling today @MrsR16? Glad your sisters were supportive 😊

All done on the GTT this morning, 3 blood tests taken, now to wait for results.

DayDreamer1707 · 23/05/2019 12:46

So I booked my 8 week appointment, I know it's still week away but helps the news sink in a little more. I did this on Monday but I have just had a missed call from the doctors....🤔. Why am I Freaking out about the smallest things 😂

@MrsR16 try and look forward to seeing your little peanut early...sending hugs x

@Crossfitgirl stick to the exercise, everything I've heard and read is that it's good for you mentally and physically, whilst pregnant and not. She probably just felt crap because a pregnant lady was fitter than her 🙊

MrsR16 · 23/05/2019 13:18

@EltzBee I'm doing ok, so tired still! But I guess that's what comes with growing a human! 😂 I'm still spotting today but it's much lighter now. You're a braver lady than me - my midwife took 2 and a half vials and she had to stop! 😂 xx

@DayDreamer1707 thank you 😘 hugs are always appreciated! Xx

EltzBee · 23/05/2019 13:52

@MrsR16 oh yes, and the first trimester is so exhausting!! Get as much rest as you can, it does get better but yeah it's bizarre how tiring that first phase is - even more so when nobody knows why you feel so rubbish!!

Aw bless you, thankfully I've always been okay with blood tests. You wouldn't have liked today then - the 2nd blood test, the nurse popped the needle in and realised she hadn't gotten a bottle, so I held the needle in whilst she went and got one from the drawer! At least it came out each time today, I made sure to keep hydrated. The other week none wanted to come out!

@DayDreamer1707 I freaked out because I had a voicemail from the midwives after my booking in appointment left for me on a Sunday - it turned out it was just because the blood sample had been mis labeled and I needed to have it redone, but I was freaking right out assuming something was 'wrong'! Things it does to us eh!
