Well ladies unfortunately I think it might be the end of the road for our journey. Had our early scan on Saturday at 8+3, baby measured at 7 weeks but they couldn’t detect a heartbeat. Been referred to EPU for another scan this morning at 11:15 Hoping my dates might be wrong but it’s really not looking hopeful 😔

thumper59 · 23/04/2019 07:51

@Lozzlepop I have everything crossed for you. It's not too uncommon for them not to get a heartbeat early so fingers x'd they can pick one up at the epu for you💕xx

Lozzlepop · 23/04/2019 08:05

@Thumper59 thanks hun it’s been the worst weekend 😔 really hoping for good news but trying to remain realistic too xx

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 23/04/2019 08:35

@Lozzlepop keeping my fingers crossed for you xx I didn't see a heartbeat until 7 weeks on an EPU scan

Lozzlepop · 23/04/2019 08:42

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil Thank you ❤️ I should be 8+6 today so I really am preparing myself for the worst. We were planning on telling our parents this weekend after our private scan and it’s just tainted the whole weekend x

TrashKitten10 · 23/04/2019 08:52

Oh @Lozzlepop I'm so sorry that you've had such a worrying time. Really hoping that they can detect the heartbeat today x

Lozzlepop · 23/04/2019 08:54

Thanks @TrashKitten10 it’s just been a horrible wait due to the bank holiday weekend x

LazyDaisy99 · 23/04/2019 09:04

@Lozzlepop so sorry you've had so much worry, I hope todays scan goes okay, be thinking of you xxxx

LazyDaisy99 · 23/04/2019 09:12

@tigsyboo thanks for your input, sorry your bridesmaid had such a bad time! My sister is looking at empire line, long flowing dresses anyway, I'll only be about 6 months pregnant and if I don't do it she'll only have one bridesmaid as my three year old is a flower girl and won't do it without me! The dresses she's looking at now are sale or return so I'll be telling her before she has to make a firm decision anyway but I'm looking forward to it to be honest. Last time it was just the final four weeks of pregnancy (I was two weeks late) when I couldn't bear doing anything but with a toddler I don't think that'll be an option this time, you just have to crack on with things!

tigsyboo · 23/04/2019 09:22

@LazyDaisy99 ah glad it's going to be doable then!! It caused such ructions between my bridesmaids. They really got annoyed! They had all loved these rose gold sparkly ombré down to chiffon fitted dresses (including her!!) they weren't actually bridesmaid dresses, they were from very and didnt do a maternity version - plus it may have looked like she swallowed a glitterball 😂
She knew she was PG when we ordered a load of dresses to try and picked these ones - I should have known there was an issue as she was obsessed with the returns period. 5 days before the end of that she announced she was pregnant and wouldn't be wearing that dress on the WhatsApp group - 'soz girls' in her words!! 🙈

Preggosaurus9 · 23/04/2019 09:24

@Lozzlepop everything crossed for you x

Mintypea5 · 23/04/2019 09:39

@Lozzlepop fingers crossed for you lovely. My best friend didn't see a heartbeat until almost 8 weeks with her last pregnancy and then it had to be internal! They all develop differently. Hopefully your dates were just a bit out and it's all fine today. Thinking of you Thanks

Leleophants · 23/04/2019 09:45

@Lozzlepop thinking of you. Just rememeber you are a strong woman and whatever happens will happen. It's nothing to do with you and if it wasn't going to work, it's better sooner than later.

Saying that, hoping for the best of course!

Pop1234 · 23/04/2019 15:15

@Lozzlepop hope you are ok. Thinking of you x

Lozzlepop · 23/04/2019 15:31

Thanks for everyone’s kind words, unfortunately it was not good news- it was confirmed that the baby has no heartbeat. Going back to the hospital at the weekend to get medication to speed things up 😔

Pollypocket5 · 23/04/2019 15:50

@Lozzlepop I am so sorry about your news. Take lots of time to yourself.
Sending lots of love!

Pollypocket5 · 23/04/2019 15:50

Ladies, I have an appointment at the epu on Thursday due to spotting. What can I expect?

Lozzlepop · 23/04/2019 15:59

@Pollypocket5 thank you, good luck for Thursday ❤️

AcatcalledGary · 23/04/2019 16:16

@Lozzlepop I’m so sorry it wasn’t good news for you. Take care of yourself x

AcatcalledGary · 23/04/2019 16:18

Has anyone who has had trouble sleeping considered buying a pregnancy pillow yet? I know it is ok to sleep on your back in the first trimester but as I’m nearing my second I want to get into the habit of lying on my side but I’m just finding it really uncomfortable at the moment even though I haven’t even got a bump yet. Been looking at Dreamgenii as it seems to get good reviews, does anyone have experience of them?

RainhamRosie · 23/04/2019 16:26

@Lozzlepop so sorry it wasn't the news you wanted. Take time to be kind to yourself, thinking of you.

@Pollypocket5 I have an appointment at the EPU tomorrow at 12 for spotting. I'll let you know what happens as I have no idea either.

Pollypocket5 · 23/04/2019 16:28

@RainhamRosie oh really?? When did yours start? I'm trying to remain calm but I'm freaking out. Have you had much blood?

Yess please let me know what happens and good luck. X

tigsyboo · 23/04/2019 16:44

@Lozzlepop so so sorry
I know that pain too well. I am proof there is a way through it though xxx

@Pollypocket5 they will do your blood pressure and bmi. Then they will call you into see a nurse and go through your lmp date, precious complications if any, reasons for referral. Then they call yo in for a scan. Then you go back to see the nurse you saw to discuss the results xx

Pollypocket5 · 23/04/2019 16:51

@tigsyboo Thankyou! I'm so nervous about the scan. I'm just hoping everything is ok. The spotting has stopped again now but keeps coming and going.

Mintypea5 · 23/04/2019 16:54

@Pollypocket5 my experience has always been that hit chat to midwife they ask some questions possibly do blood pressure etc and then offer a scan if they think it's necessary. Fingers crossed lovely. I had lots of spotting and bleeds last time and it was all ok

@AcatcalledGary I had that pillow last time. It was ok but not as good as the reviews made it seem! I have a normal b shaped one as well and that was much better tbh
