Christmas babies

Mamabear12 · 14/04/2019 17:23

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

@EmeraldRubyShark Aww no bless you, i hope you feel better soon & make sure you rest as much as you can.

@Mamabear12 Can 100% sympathise with you about feeling tired everyday this week between 4-5am have I had to get up for a wee worst part is by the time i get back to bed my boobs are agony from going up and down the stairs with no support for them!

Mamabear12 · 25/04/2019 13:29

EmeraldRubyShark! Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Do you think if you went to toilet first it would have been okay? I’m nervous now about getting the scan done!

Just made me smoothie and it was awesome!!!! It’s dates, banana, peanut butter, cinnamon, milk and ice. In case anyone wants to try it 😀 very yummy!

Had my early scan today.... they found baby and sac but didn't detect a heartbeat as it's possibly too early 5+6

Going back next week for another scan

They did say I had a fibroid in my womb which will need monitoring throughout but it's nothing to be concerned about apparently

Emmilou82 · 25/04/2019 14:42

Oh and it's not ectopic which is a massive weight off my mind x

MrsS7 · 25/04/2019 15:18

Congratulations @Emmilou82, hopefully all will be ok at your next scan.

I'm 7+5 and have a scan this evening, getting really nervous and worried now :(

Emmilou82 · 25/04/2019 15:44

Thank you @MrsS7 I'm sure yours will be fine

They did say I have a fibroid on my uterus.... she didn't appear concerned but I am. I will ask more about it next week but o have to mention it to my midwife next month

IndieTara · 25/04/2019 15:46

M'y due date was Xmas eve but actually had DD on 7 Dec!

Comps83 · 25/04/2019 17:04

@EmeraldRubyShark dildo cam Grin literally loled. I’m currently on Abs for a UTI too

Losd · 25/04/2019 18:13

Aw @Emmilou82 that’s amazing!! You can see the baby and the yolk sac 😍 I was told that I had to wait til 6 and a half weeks because the heartbeat is rarely detected before that so it looks like you’re on track! I was referred to a specialist obstetrician today who will phone me soon to arrange a meeting and further scans, I can’t wait now I’m starting to be more excited and optimistic xx

Iamneverfull · 25/04/2019 19:29

Hi can I join?! I'm 4 + 2 And very nervous as we've been trying for 6 years. I feel like I can feel everything in my body, im so on edge! I've got mild cramps and one big hard boob! I found out Sunday and it's going sooo slowly! Time has definitely slowed down. Due 31st December

Aims4488 · 25/04/2019 19:45

Welcome and congrats @Iamneverfull I completely understand what you mean about time slowing down as soon as you find out. Also get what you mean about being nervous I am exactly the same & keep having to tell myself to just take each day as it comes.

VeryNewToAllThis · 25/04/2019 20:10

@EmeraldRubyShark are all 6 wk early scans transvaginal / dildo cam? I have one booked in for 6 weeks and want to be sure of what to expect! Lol I assumed it would be an ultrasound!

RLI1105 · 25/04/2019 21:45

I've been keeping a slightly low profile on here (although I've been keeping up!) but I'm breaking my non-posting streak by saying that 'dildo can' is my new favourite phrase 😂😂😂😂@VeryNewToAllThis

I don't feel like I have any real updates , hence again why I've been quiet!
I'm currently 5+5 - only real
Symptom so far is sore boobs! My constipation and bloating has got much more manageable too although I'm back on night shifts next week so anything could happen!

Jojobabymamma · 25/04/2019 22:25

Can I join this thread too? We found out last week that I’m due with baby number 2 on Christmas Eve!
We had baby number 1 last April. We have managed to inadvertently get pregnant on my first cycle post baby before my periods had returned! We’re thrilled but it’s been a bit more of a surprise this time! Obviously the timing of the due date could have been better 😂 but was sort of out of our control!
Xxx

Hayls17 · 25/04/2019 22:47

Thank you mamabear, I’m feeling ok thanks! Feeling tired in the evenings and cramps on and off, I had the same with DD from what I remember. Woke up and boobs looked amazing sure they grew 2 sizes overnight 😂 starting to feel sore though 😩 how’s everyone else feeling?

Mamabear12 · 26/04/2019 07:20

Last night I had some back ache. But it went. At least this morning I managed to sleep until 6:40am!! And although, I took a couple of pee trips to the loo and had a freaky dream, I feel rested. My dream itself wasn’t freaky, but I awoke with hearing a whisper “you are not alone!” 😳😳😳 freaked me out! But managed to get back to sleep!

As for symptoms I have barely sensitive nipples. My breasts are a tiny bit fuller. Sometimes I feel something in my tummy (almost like a baby moving in there, but know it’s not as baby is too small). But maybe it’s my uterus growing or twitching? Who knows! I’m 5 weeks 5 days today!

@VeryNewToAllThis not necessarily- usually they will scan externally and if they need a closer look they will go inside. It isn't painful - my gyne usually asks me to empty my bladder before doing an internal

GoldPaperStars · 26/04/2019 09:14

I posted this on another thread, before seeing this one: I can’t quite believe it, but I qualify for this group now! Got a BFP (big fat positive) last night after testing negative the first day of my missed period! I’m in shock a little as for some reason I was convinced that I would never be able to get pregnant and it actually happened on our second month of trying... confused I think I’m as shocked at that as I am about actually being pregnant.

Online calculators show a due date of Dec 27th. No Buck’s Fizz for me this Christmas...

Congratulations to everyone else!

I’m not sure what the number of weeks + number of weeks means? (Eg 4+2). Can anyone explain?

MrsS7 · 26/04/2019 09:16

All looking lovely at my scan last night! Saw the heartbeat and measuring at 8 weeks exactly. Very reassuring but it’s still going to be a long wait for 12 weeks!

@VeryNewToAllThis I was told when I got there that at anything before 10 weeks they do an internal scan (at that clinic anyway) but it was absolutely fine, nothing to worry about at all.

EmeraldRubyShark · 26/04/2019 09:25

VeryNewToAllThis well I was led to believe that anything that early they’d need to do a TV (transvaginal, dildo cam 😂) scan from my research online, but she did try through my abdomen first. She couldn’t see a thing, and it was horrible upsetting (‘hmm, no, I can’t see any signs of pregnancy in your uterus. Have you been having pains?’). Then she said go for a wee and we’ll do internal. Once she went inside she could see much more clearly and everything was fine! I wondered why on Earth they wouldn’t just do a TV first so early but I guess they want to do the least invasive thing possible and if my dates had been off maybe and I’d been further along she might have seen it through the abdomen and not had to do internal.

But yeah, so early they won’t really see much abdominally usually but I’d go with a full bladder anyway and then you can always empty it for the internal scan. In the states they always do TV up to eight weeks so just different guidelines I guess. But I’d definitely be prepared for a TV.

It hurt me quite a lot but that’s because I already have chronic bladder pains and painful sex and I ended up with a UTI from the trauma of it wiggling around and her pressing down on my bladder but friends who don’t have the issues I have say it’s totally fine. It’s quite wide but they don’t insert it far and you’re both looking at the screen anyway it’s very dignified and you kinda forget the tech is moving it around inside you.

AimeeJay · 26/04/2019 10:25

I found out yesterday I'm pregnant for the first time, due boxing day according to the internet

JGWelsh · 26/04/2019 11:24

Hey,
I noticed there's a few teachers on this thread, are any of you teachings suffering with morning sickness? After being sick while walking my dog this morning (in public, straight onto the grass, so embarrassing) I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to hide my pregnancy when term starts back next week! Leaving the children regularly to run to the toilet is going to get pretty suspicious...

Congrats AimeeJay!

I'm only 5 weeks plus 4 days so really not ready to tell anyone! Any advice?

Mamabear12 · 26/04/2019 12:19

JGWelsh If you have bad morning sickness, I would just be honest with at least whomever you report to at school. Come up with a plan on what to tell the children. Or you might have to take a few days off as you figure out how to deal with the morning sickness. Some people figure out ways to prevent it, like wearing a wrist band for seasickness. Eating small meals throughout the day or nibbling on crackers or ginger sweets etc. If something were to go wrong, you would probably tell the person you report to anyways as you would take a couple days off etc (at least I would!). People are more understanding for this.

Hi @AimeeJay congratulations and welcome to the group

@MrsS7 fab news about your scan too, how lovely! I've not got an early one so it's such a long wait to 12 weeks!Shock

Don't know what's going on with me today.....sickness definitely kicked in this morning, just really queasy not actually sick but then at the same time I was STARVING and totally craving a big Subway sandwich lol!! No Subways here though so settled for a good old cheese and ham.....now feel slightly sick again and the bloating is back with a vengeance too!! Aah the joys lolGrin

JGWelsh · 26/04/2019 14:18

Thanks mamabear12, I will start snacking and get some ginger sweets too. I have a large team of support staff in my class who I guess will find out pretty quick so I think I will have to tell my family soon otherwise they'll be the last to know!

Summersun8383 I felt like that for two days which is why I went out even though I felt a little queasy today. Food seemed to settle my stomach which was good because I was so hungry.

I hate being sick but it is a sign there's a baby in there so I will try not to complain too much :)
