honeyapple · 24/07/2007 16:41

Hi,

Greedy- we are going to Brittany. Taking the overnight ferry to St. Malo. Have got a little cabin with a porthole-so hopefully not completely at the bottom of the ship. Then staying 2 nts in hotel in St. Malo and then going to a little gite for a week. I think the weather is probably going to be a bit pants, but I am just looking forward to getting away, eating nice french food and drinking the odd bit of vin rouge. The beaches look gorgeous, good for running around on and making sand castles .

I will have a think for some girl's names for you! Has to be as fab as Kiki, and that is tricky.

fettleandminifettle · 24/07/2007 19:49

Oh Honey - I wish I was coming with you - I love Brittany. My parents have a flat over there, looking out over the sea and we had agreat holiday there last summer. Can't fit it in this summer due to DH's course and then I'm too pg for the fast ferry back come August!. We vowed never to do the daylong trip back from St Malo to Portsmouth as that was a long with DD. I think if we do it again, we'll get a cabin, even though it is a day trip!! DC will love it though! So - have a great trip!!!

Thanks everyone for your reassurances, I knew I could count on you to make me feel that everything will be ok and tell me I'm just being a bit over-sensitive. As you've said, it is better to be safe than sorry.

Greedy - great to hear from you - i'm missing you!! Hope staying with your Mum isn't too bad - just think how lovely your house will be once it's finished!! No word from our builder, he's supposed to be starting work this week, but we've heard nothing - we move in 3 weeks on Friday!! It's not going to happen is it?!!

Firsty - I do technically fit into my normal clothes - most of my work clothes are skirts and the ones with elasticated waists still fit, as do most of my stretchy tops, so it is a bit cheating!

Sorry need to go - DD wants a quick night-night kiss!

back later, I hope.

fettleandminifettle · 24/07/2007 19:59

Hey Greeds, how about this for a girl's name? Just saw that Jordon has named her little girl this.... Princess Tiaamii!

Try suggesting that on a name-thread and see what people say on MN!!!!

Wow, you?ve all been chatty ! Sorry I left you yesterday, went to the races with clients. It was great fun but I only came home £3 up! Didn?t get home until 11.30 so working from home today so I could get a lie in DH is off sick with a sore leg so don?t know how much work I?ll get done with him around do actually have to work too?

Iwillbe ? time for a name change for you? I know what you mean about my BF, I?ve been hurting for months over her just cutting me out . It all goes back to my wedding but I don?t understand the reasons behind it all. What a dream you had, have your given this new sport a name? enjoy being off work, really sorry about your trip to your Mum?s ? Tewkesbury seems to be really badly hit, I hope your Mum et al are ok. Sex ban turned to sex fest don?t get too tired now! Your DP sounds a lot like mine, he is so proud of the bean already Glad you are feeling a lot better.

Babymad love what you said to that woman about the quads, must remember that! Sounds like great planning getting DH to keep us updated! Thank you! All sounds good with your LO Have you been watching Birth Day Girls on Living2 one of the women is having a home birth and wants her older ones there when my sis went into labour with DS2, DS1 was at home and she was having to hide in cupboards when she had contractions so that he wouldn?t see her ? his Granny had only just picked him up when the main event got underway and an hour later when DS2 had arrived and sis was drinking tea, she summoned DS1 back as didn?t like the fact that he wasn?t there! Can?t comment on the boobs but am almost disappointed that mine aren?t doing anything yet, there are quite a few on the Due in NY thread who have had gushes already ? I am feeling inadequate!

Hey Firsty thanks hon. It?s funny, so many more people asked me yesterday if I was expecting when I was wearing the mat trousers, not because they could see that they were but I guess that my suits were suffocating my bump, they were all quite amazed that they had only realized now when I am 15 weeks. You may be right about my friend and the baby blues will have to get her out. I?ve volunteered as a Tsarina for my local area (though no local site yet) so I can use that as an excuse to get her to come with me to lots of family friendly places)

For those of you that know BasilBrush ? she has lost her baby fate is so cruel, she?d seen the HB before she went on holiday and then had a bleed when there and ended up in the same hospital that she lost her last one in, just by chance, they were visiting friends in that area (she was on a school trip last time) so awful. I really feel for her.

Bodders sorry to hear that Isla is preferring to be awake than asleep at night your journey sounded awful must have been lovely to show both your DDs off at the wedding

Fettle wondering if I will ever be able to get back into normal trousers Sorry it wasn?t all what you wanted to hear at your appointment. What are you going to take for your iron levels? I took Floradix after my MC and didn?t have any of the side effects that you can get from iron tablets (i.e. constipation) Everything crossed it?s not cholestasis and that LO has a growth spurt Think you are right, if there was anything to worry about, he?d scan you now. If we all grow at different rates outside the womb, surely it can be the same inside? I?ve lost weight again today. Only 1 ½ so I don?t think that?s anything to worry about but it probably means that I have been more active this week than I was before.

Honeyapple ? glad that all seems well. Shame about DS?s sports day Bet the disco is a scream though Have a fantastic holiday Are you going for Kiki hon?

Hey Greedy re Raya after you told me that it means Princess in Thai I really warmed to that. I think Seren is pretty too. At the end of the day, some MNetters are so rude about people?s names, just ignore them. DH went through 3 name books yesterday and came up with lists! We still like Aaliyah best for a girl and Xavier for a boy but we?ve also added the following the list of potentials:

Boys: Aidan, Cameron, Arron (sp!), Connor, Dylan, Ethan, Lewis, Luke, Nathan, Rocco, Ryan, Isaac, Neo, Caleb, Ellis and Ashton

Girls: Mia, Lauren, Luna, Trinity, Eva, Hope, Zara, Juno, Ola, Evie, Lola, Cia/Kia, Mimi, Misty, Raine, Una, Astraea, Jana, Rosa, Marnie, Eden, Tahlia, Azara, Saeona, Leah

Thanks for the tip re Heroes ? isn?t Jack in it? (not as good as Sawyer hey! )

BabyMadandBIGbump · 25/07/2007 11:07

Hi Ladies feel like sh%t today I think it's down to very bad nights sleep and I woke up due to a nightmare ("hills have eyes" kinda nightmare not good), made me feel.....kinda.....oddish.... cant really explain it. DH wanted me to run up and down stair's last things last night (11:45pm )...... I don't think he wanted to go to work .... told him to sod off! Oh and at DH work they have got bets going when this LO will be born....nice... no pressure then!

MrsMc don't worry about the boob thing, nothing and I mean nothing, happen to my boob/s with DS#1 never even leaked when he was born, nothing happened with DS#2 until he was born, this LO boobs started leaking around 20/24 week mark! I stopped watching Birth Day Girls due to I started remembering what labour and birth felt like and started thinking "what the hell have I done", and on the other side of the coin it also made me want my baby even sooner, so felt down afterwards, but I'm sure once LO is born I will start watching it again!

back soon!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 25/07/2007 11:45

just realized that my predicted date is on Friday, and I think the weight of this LO is going to be more like 9lb 1oz rather then the predicted 8lb 1oz! we'll see!

Just hope the dreams about having my baby on my own, on the kitchen floor with 2DS's there, don't come true!

Off for a nice long(ish) hot bath, try and shake off this odd felling I still have!

How are you doing firsty?

back l8er!

Hi ladies. Internet has gone again grr! First star i want to give you a hug you sound so down. Not long and your baby will be here and all will be well x x x mrs love your long list of names! We have got avy for a girl and oscar for a boy. Alternatives are angel for girl and sebastian for a boy which i hate but dp loves. Had my bloods today all ok i was a good girl lol any ideas for a name change?

iwillbepgbydec2007 · 25/07/2007 14:47

Honey i hope you have a lovely holiday and come back all refreshed! Take that running on the beach careful! Hello everyone else x x

MrsMcJnr · 25/07/2007 14:47

Firsty - shift over, I've come to pay you a virtual house visit I've brought a home made chocolate cake that I made when I should have been working and I'll pop the kettle on so that you don't have to move - you'll have to get up to show me the nursery though, I am very noisy and love nurseries! A Tsarina is just someone who takes some responsibility for making sure the local MN sites are kept up to date and moving - like saying where good places to go are, baby friendly restuarants, what to do in the rain etc. Not done anything yet though as no site for my area yet!

Hey, budge up and pass us some chocky cake Mrs! Firsty - really sorry to hear you are glum. Let me put this baby down and i'll give you a hand getting a few jobs done You are soooooooo going to love not being pregnant anymore - and one thing is for sure, you will be having this baby very soon xxxx

Greedy, this site is good for names www.thinkbabynames.com - you can type in a meaning and it will find relevant names for you

Honeyapple - I love st malo and brittany - have a fab time
hope the crossing doesnt make you all too !!!!

sorry - baby screaming gotta go xx

Chooster · 25/07/2007 16:04

Mmmm, chocolate cake!! Sounds fab - I've experienced MrsMc's cooking and its very very very good .

So sorry you are feeling low Firsty - Its such a difficult time waiting and waiting, constantly on edge. I think its probably easier in somne ways when you already have DC as it takes your mind of the wait. I really hope you can get out and about a little bit. I know it seems like its dragging, but it really will be over soon. Its due date tomorrow and then you'll be on the final countdown to seeing your beautiful LO

Fettle - SOrry you have the worry of the measurements. Like Firsty says there are so many stories on here of women who have had unnecessary worries caused by the different ways people measure. Its as you say though, if he was really worried you'd be scanned earlier than 4 weeks.

Greeds - Hope the stay with your mum isn't too long, unless of course you are being totally spoilt and able to get lots of good rest in which case I hope it lasts as long as you want . I like both Raya and Seren, and I'm really not just saying that . I saw there was another MN lady who called her daughter Seren - I think she was a due in July lady.

I like your names too MrsMc - you've got some good ones there. Interesting about being a Tsarina - I had no idea what that was either . I'll give you some good places as and when I come across them.

Happy holiday Honey!! Although I think you are already away... Hope the weather holds for you.

grrrrr - about the PC Iwillbe - How about "Ididgetpregnantbydec2007" .

Hi everyone else - A picture of little Theo will be coming on later on as our new camera arrived this morning. I'll see if DH can give me a hand.

Things are good here - Theo feeding and sleeping well. The health visitor has been today and he's passed his birth weight now and is 8lbs 4oz, so all that feeding is paying off. Like Isla, he is having more peiods of being awake - again a couple of hours during the night on Monday [grrrr].

Unfortuntaly my mum is now in hospital with pneumonia which is such a shame for her. She is gutted that she is not seeing my DS's but I just hope she looks after herself and gets better soon. Its such bad timing as she has only seen him once for a couple of hours.

Anyway, better go as DH is in the same room as me and is bugging me by talking when I'm trying to keep up.

Hope you are all well!!!!

Chooster · 25/07/2007 16:06

Hi Bodkin - crossed with you! Give Isla a hug and kiss x

Firsty - big big hugs - wish I could pop round. TBH, I have no idea where in the country you are, you could be just up the road and I really could pop in (with a bought chocolate cake, not sure I could compete with MrsMcs!!!). Your baby will come when he is ready for it, you're obviously already such a great mother, that he doesn't want to leave the security of inside you to face the wide-world outside!. Take care - I hope DP is being supportive? how are the DSDs coping with the waiting?

Chooster and Bodders - your little ones sound so lovely. Glad the feeding is going well, but I'm sorry they are keeping you up more at night - that part i'm really not looking forward to!

I hope your mum gets better soon, Chooster - sounds pretty horrible.

MrsMc - I hope you got some work done today - i'm rubbish at working from home, if other people are around. I did it full-time while we were living up North and I couldn't commute to the office, so we had an arrangement I could work from home before and after my mat leave (timing was great), meant I didn't have to leave my job, just because DH's job posted us away. Did get used to working from home, but it is lonely - used to spend at least an hour a day on the phone to people in the office just to speak to someone!

Well, you'll all be impressed - going to a black tie do next week and I still fit into my long evening dress - didn't think I would but really didnt' want to buy a mat dress for a few hours. Slightly indecent with a low cut top, but if you've got them, flaunt them, I say! Needed to hoist my boobs into position, but I don't look pg until I turn side-ways!! Dress is a bit shorter than normal, as it obviously going out at the front, but doesn't look too bad. Just need to track down a mask now, as it is a masquerade ball!

Right must go - DD is being a real minx at the moment. I think things are starting to slot into her mind and worrying her slightly. We move 2 weeks on Friday and she leaves nursery 5 weeks on Friday and starts new school shortly afterwards. Feel so bad, really starting to resent being a forces family, which forces you to move house so often - it didn't matter when it was just hte 2 of us, but now we're a family, it is so much harder. sorry, think I just needed to get that off my chest!!

take care all
babymad, Firsty - hope tonight's the night!!
xxx

MrsMcJnr · 26/07/2007 11:25

What?s this? 11.22 and no Firsty or Babymad?.could they be busy?.! Such pressure!

Happy to cuddle Isla if we have to go round and cheer Firsty up again Bodders!!

Chooster ? it?s just as well the cake was a virtual one, I am a lousy baker Keep waking up in a sweat thinking we must get a camcorder before we have this baby! Sounds like Theo is on track to be a bruiser So sorry about you Mum; I hope she gets much better very soon. At least she has seen Theo.

Fettle ? didn?t get that much done yesterday nor today so far sounded like you had a good arrangement last time round. When do you finish up? Bet you?ll look lovely at the dance!

Chooster · 26/07/2007 14:31

Ah, am sure you bake a good cake MrsMc .

Firsty - hope you are doing OK - I was thinking of you this morning when I was up at 2am and saw on my watch that it was the 26th July. Fingers crossed you are doing well and feeling a little brighter.

Fettle - I know what you mean about working from home. I did this for about a year after moving from London to Edinburgh cos of DH's job. Its hard going when you dont have colleagues to chat to - Wish I knew about MN then .

Although not a forces family, when I was growing up we moved every 2 years so I went to lots of different schools, a couple of them abroad. It honestly hasn't done me any harm and like many things it has its positives as well as negatives. I don't have any friends I can say I grew up with but I am still in touch with quite a few from the later schools I went to. It has also made me more self-reliant and I was never anxious about new situations (i.e first day at a new job etc...). Please dont feel guilty about DD. She'll have a wonderful childhood and lots of good experiences

MrsMcJnr · 26/07/2007 14:38

Fettle ? I?ll second what Chooster says, I went to 5 schools in 3 countries and don?t think it did my any harm my parents are both Forces Kids and moved a lot and I think that lots of people have lives like that

greedygreedyguzzler · 26/07/2007 16:16

Firsty - happy due date to you, happy due date to you, happy due date dear fir-sty, happy due date to you!!!!

Babymad - are you giving birth right NOW???

mrs - i love nearly all of your baby names! Ellis for a boy is an especially fab name (its my ds' name!) i think i might be back onto autumn again!! i do think its a lovely name!!! i CANNOT believe you are 15 wks already! you are almost halfway! it always amazes me how fast everyone elses pgs fly by!!! you will LOVE heroes! Peter Petrelli is the one i like in it ( but he isn't a patch on sawyer! he is more of a boy next door type!!!) i tend to go for really rough and rugged types or little school boy types!...........not sure what that says about me really!!!

bodders - thanks for the website, i will have a look in a minute!! i am just SO indecisive!!! lets have anoother pic of isla! i bet she has changed loads already!!!

chooster - sorry to hear about your mum, i really hope she recovers quickly. i am going to check your profile in a minute to see if you have got round to putting pics of your little man on yet! we used to move every 2 years when i was younger too, cos of my dads job!!!! dont think it affected me too much either ( you might all think differently!)......yours didnt work for Littlewoods did he?

fettle petal!!! - i miss coming on here all the time too! i am at work again at the moment, so thought i would make the most of having a pc!!! my mum is driving me MAD!!!!!!! she is fab, but really does my head in sometimes!!! mainly when i am tired, cos she is so bloody chirpy all the time and has so much energy!!! she makes me feel like a failure as a mother cos she is always inventing new games for them to play and thinking of things to entertain them and sometimes i just want to put the TV on for them and RELAX!!!! my last patient ( who i havent seen for over a year) just called me a 'prawn' for having another baby!!!!..she kept saying " isn't 2 enough for you?" and " how can you share yourself between 3 of them?"................................some people really say what they think dont they!!!????? what a cheeky cow!!!
i conpletely agree with what chooster said about moving house and stuff (she speaks sense that girl!). i am sure your dd wont be fazed at all and if she is playing up at the moment she is probably just picking up on your anxiety about it all. she will be fine!! doesn't stop you worrying though does it!! glad you can still fit into your dress........................i had someone ask me if i was having twins today and then about half an hour later someone told me my bump was very 'neat' and they couldn't believe i was 30 wks!!!.......i have decided to IGNORE EVERYONE!!!

honeyapple - have a FAB holiday.............my dh is in Nice at the moment and told me it was 36 degrees so i wouldn't expect the weather to be too pants!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 26/07/2007 16:17

so where oh where are firsty and babymad today then??? oh oh oh!!!! this is all getting a bit exciting again!!!
