honeyapple · 16/07/2007 09:17

Oh Kitkat! Poor you... only a little bit more time at work and then you can stick to fingers up at it all and walk away! For a bit anyway... Are you planning to go back?
And sorry to hear DH being an arse. Hope he snaps out of it soon.

Thanks for the milk/calcium advice. Think I might try to drink a little bit more milk or eat more yoghurt. My granny had bad arthritis and osteoperosis (sp?) and my mum takes calcium supplements, so I guess I should really be a bit more aware. I'm really glad I dont own any scales cos I think i could get a bit paranoid about weight gain. My thighs are starting to rub a lot more than they used to . Ho hum, bring on the BF!

Fettle- we did our kitchen when we moved in this house and it took 2 weeks in total for all finishing touches. But fitters did seem to work VERY short days!

honeyapple · 16/07/2007 09:17

two fingers!

KitKat30 · 16/07/2007 10:02

Thanks honey... I am planning on going back, but not for 12 months. So it feels like I'm leaving for good... hooray!

I know what you mean about the weight gain... I've been fine all these few weeks, but in this final trimester it's relentless! Here's hoping it's all baby and not chocolate biscuit related...

I hope DH snaps out of it too... he keeps saying he's stressed which I know he is - but that's no excuse to behave like he does. I'm bloody stressed but still manage to keep a civil tongue in my head...argh.

MrsMcJnr · 16/07/2007 11:15

Hello ladies can any of you tell me ? is it true or a myth that it takes 13 weeks to order a buggy ? a colleague of DH?s told him that.

Fettle ? I?ve had to go up a bra size in the last week again, I guess I just have to accept that I don?t know the meaning of big now! I didn?t know that about breast feeding and the calcium ? sounds good. Hope your Monday is going ok.

Honeyapple - I hear where you are coming from, it must be really sore if you don?t BF ? I know my sister kept getting mastitis each time she tried to give up and that was after 6 months. I try to eat a yoghurt a day and I do find that a cup of horlicks before bed helps me feel better in the morning ? I guess it?s to do with blood sugar too. I?m really conscious of the calcium thing as the heparin I take also depletes it.

Iwillbe hope all is well.

Firsty ? I know I?ve always shaved my legs and armpits anyway (can?t stand them at all spiky). Tinted eyelashes would be nice though as would the other treatments.

KitKat I hope your day improves, I?m feeling low today too but think that is lack of sleep (I keep getting pins and needles in my arms in the night) and the awful weather ? it could be January not July! Sorry to hear that DH was being an arse when do you start mat leave?

Thinking of you and all your men Chooster

MrsMcJnr · 16/07/2007 16:40

Why so quiet? Firsty and Babymad could be in labour and Bodders and Chooster could be a bit busy ...but the rest of you....

Got my nuchal results back 1:7851 for Down's and 1:20,000 for Edwards & Patels (sp) so feeling really happy.

greedygreedyguzzler · 16/07/2007 17:16

i'm here!!!! been busy busy today and over the weekend but i'm here now!!!

those risk results seem pretty good to me mrs!!!

fettle - our kitchen is about the only room that isn't getting done with our extension, so i can;t really 'talk' kitchens with you i am afraid.............i can talk 'mess, dirt and foul mouthed builders though' if thats any good???!!

kitkat - whats your dh playing at hey? doesnt he know you are pg and hormonal and need him to be EXTRA EXTRA nice?! i think its you, firsty, mrs, seaside and iwillbe that are first timers! and dont worry about the afterpains, you will hardly notice them first time!

honeyapple - i have noticed that about my thighs rubbing too!!! its horrible! they never used to rub!

hey...............listen to this ladies!!! someone told me i looked ELEGANT yesterday!!!!!!.............i nearly fainted!!!! i NEVER get called elegant normally and so i was shocked to get called it at 29wks pg!!!!!..................i did feel quite chuffed i have to admit!!!.......think i might wear the outfit i had on yesterday for the next 11 wks now!!!

had my ds's 4th birthday party yesterday..........all went very well......hard work though!!! he had a fab time and was such a good little boy and then SO grateful afterwards!!! he made me cry about a million times yesterday! he kept saying the sweetest things and i kept thinking 'yep, THIS is why we are having another one cos they can be SO cute!!!!!!'

chooster and bodders - give your babies a kiss and a squeeze from me!!!

i did get to cuddle a 4 wk old and a 9 wk old baby yesterday and actually didnt feel that broody at all!!!.......which is VERY unlike me! (they were both a bit manky though!!! you know ........spotty and snotty!!!.........OH MY GOD I AM EVIL!!!!!)

Bodkin · 16/07/2007 19:07

Sorry, no time to catch up with everyone, just wanted to say HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the Choosters on their new little chap. Sounds like a pretty traumatic birth Chooster, so hope you are recovering from all of that.

All going well here, just not enough hours in the day at the mo. Will try and catch up properly soon.

Missing you all like mad though, can't wait to get back for a good old natter

Bodkin · 16/07/2007 19:09

Honeyapple,- just saw your post.... our secret boys name was....

Dudley !!!!!

Dunno why, we could jsut really picture this litte scruffy dude bombling around, thought it would suit him.

DP is already asking when I am going to produce his son and heir....

honeyapple · 16/07/2007 19:13

Evening

Greedy- only your own baby can be nice when they are spotty and snotty! That's not being evil! Some babies just are ugly... even fugly... but their mums still love 'em!
Elegant eh? That's a good one... I would have been dead chuffed too . The best I got was my DP saying "cor, your tits look fantastic in that!"

Mrs- those risk stats are fantastic! My Downs was 1:2500 and I thought that was good.

DP has just demolished our wardrobe and now the contents are strewn all over our bed... for preparation to fit the new colossal superking bed into our not very colossal bedroom...

honeyapple · 16/07/2007 19:14

Dudley

fettleandminifettle · 16/07/2007 20:18

Evening all - sorry not been around - work far too busy for a quick post during the day!! 2 new starters seem good - which is always a good start - that you've actually employed good people - so hard to tell from 2 interviews! Been very impressed with them all so far - hope they are all up to scratch and ready to fly solo before the end of of August when I leave as then I'll feel less guilty about leaving my other colleagues in the lurch!

What is it, with all us pg ladies and home improvements?!! We all seem to be at in some degree? how is the house-selling going Mrs - are you still trying to sell your house? I'm sure our kitchen will be fantastic when finished - just want to click my fingers though. Thought it was going to be pretty straight-forward, but now DH is talking about re-flooring, which is sensible, butslightly more time-consuming!! At least the builder is still on side to start next week - so hopefully Greedy - I won't actually witness the foul-mouthed builder side of the work - just the mess afterwards!!

Mrs - those test results sound fantastic - you must be so relieved! how are the injections going? Second-nature now, or still getting used to. Was reading an article today about Factor V Leiden, thrombophilia and pregnancy risks at work today and thought of you - wasn't going to read it, but thought I would for you. Doubt I've learnt anything more than you know, but thankfully you are being looked after quite well by the sound of it all.

Bodders - good to hear from you - hope little Isla is settling into the Bodkin home nicely - we miss you too, but understand!

Do you really think Firsty and Babymad are off having babies - really will have a month, if we have 4 in a row so quickly!

Does then mean it is Kitkat, then us, Greeds?! Getting closer.

Kitkat - sorry DH is being a pain - I think they sometimes forget we're pg and don't really realise quite how utterly exhausting it can particularly these last few weeks if you are working full-time as well. Good on you taking 12 months off - think i'm going for 9 only (unless I decide never to go back!).

greedy - elegant! Why are you surprised? your photo I've seen of you makes you look very elegant. I've been told I look well, but considering most people still need to ask if I'm pg, I obviously just look fat!!

Honey - hope you feeling more energetic today. Thanks for the advice on kitchens - it will be fine won't it - can't take that long to do it all - the more we get done before we move in the better, probably. DH is planning on de-fitting and fitting the cabinets himself, but getting a professional for the floor and worktops - hope that's a good decision. I know nothing of DIY, so I stupidly trust him. FIL is coming over this weekend, and he does lots of DIY, so he might talk sense into him!!

Right, must go finish supper -DH has his last formal assessment tomorrow for this course, so he's working hard, but he'll hopefully take some time off to eat!!

take care all
xxx

BabyMadandBIGbump · 16/07/2007 20:35

Evening ladies! Back at home nad on my own PC. Hoorraayy!!! We got out late on Saturday night and it was SO good to be home. They wanted me and the little man to stay in one more night as he hasn't been feeding well but I just wanted to get out. I was sharing a room with 3 other ladies and one of was the loudest snorer I've ever heard!!! And she was only 4ft 7 - tiny but very noisy . And I was missing DS1 too much...

Sorry for not posting earlier but its been mad busy during the day and DS2 is starting to become a boy who realises he's hungry and is going for it a lot in the evening . I am so pleased he's becoming a little guzzler as I was starting to become anxious.

Anyway his name is Theo Henry and he is an absolute smasher . I have totally and utterly fallen in love with him and everyone is so right - your love just expands when you have a second. I can't stop looking at him and cuddling him. . Sorry, am getting a bit soppy but he's so gorgeous.

Oh yeah, afterpains - they are definately worse this time and its such an ache when I'm feeding. The good thing is that ny nipples are cracked and sore so that takes my mind off the pains

Ah, the small bit of emotional upset with parents / in laws had long gone. I think everyone was just a bit over-excited. We're all pals again . I'm feeling really bad for my mum though as she has been desperate to help and was due to come to see us again tomorrow but has to stay home with a chest infection / suspected pneumonia. She's had pneumonia before and I really hope its not back again .

Anyway my small 3 day old master is calling... I'll be back.

Your odds are fab MrsMc!!!! Very very pleased for you

Yeah! I have friends again so much work to do but just have to finish up on here first? priorities hey!

Thanks Greedy how are things going with the extension? Is there an end in sight? Lovely to have a compliment like that Ah DS sounds lovely PMSL at the manky babies

Hello Bodders ? hope you are having fun with Isla My Dad?s middle name is Dudley (can you believe it ? my maiden name was Moore!! ? apparently in the 70s/80s the press used to turn up at things thinking the actor was arriving!) my sister and I thought it was ?Daddely? when we were little it is quite unusual these days isn?t it? A friend of mine is married to a Dudley Surely DP is not already considering a 3rd?!

Thanks Honeyapple PMSL fugly ? please can I NOT have one of those? Since the scan I have been worried that Beanie Skeletor is going to have a big nose sorry, that is so vain. DSIL has a very big nose as does DFIL ? DH?s nose is nice and mine is tiny (almost too tiny) so I am hoping it was a shadow! PMSL at your DPs comment big bed sounds good

Hey Fettle your priorities sound far more noble than mine. Good to hear that you think you have good people! House selling is? changing.. we?ve changed agents and are re-listing the place next week with my firm. Means we are potentially saving £5k as there are no fees and no commission on the sale ? we?ll see what the change brings, it?s not the best time of year apparently! Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly with the kitchen. I am really relieved about the results thanks. Injections are going ok, there is less fat to pinch now (as the bump is growing) so that makes it a bit harder and my skin seems to be getting tougher too so that makes it harder but most days I don?t make a mess (then there was yesterday? ) Thank you for reading that article for me I do feel I am being looked after well. The phlabotimist was telling me last week that the Consuktant Haem and Obts had to fight really hard to get the programme together and that it is one of the few joiunt initiatives in the country ? saving hundreds of babies lives ? I do count my lucky stars that I was ?discioveered? People here seem to think it is funny to tell me that ?I am fair putting on the beef? first my DFIL and then a friends husband at a party on Friday night ? clearly they do not understand that women don?t like to be told they look fat!

Hello and thank you Babymad hope it happens soon!

Hey Chooster so lovely to hear from you and that?s great news about DS2 being a hungry boy my friend who I visited on Sat had had some issues with DS2 feeding too and was really worried but all seems ok there now ? just shows you, she BF DS1 for a year and was so relaxed about it all that she did workshops for other Mums etc but with DS2 she was finding it so hard and getting blisters and almost gave up. I am so glad you are so besotted it must be such a relief after all the early fears. I really was scared for you when I heard about you being in theatre. I?m so sorry that it went that way . Hope your Mum gets better very soon.

Firsty thank you for saying that about work, that?s how I feel I think it was any kind of buggy he was talking about ? thanks for the reassurance though thought it was the whole wedding dress shopping panic all over again (was told I had left things ?a bit late? when I went looking a week after we got engaged and 11 months before the wedding!!) about the pins and needles, will keep an eye on that!

Chooster · 17/07/2007 11:52

hey - my boy kept hold of me last night so couldn't pop back. I'm o relieved at his feeding. Interesting what you say about your friend mrsMc - I think there is a temptation to think it will be quite easy teh second time round but they alwyas say every baby is different. I have to hold Theo totally differently when feeding than the way I held Max.

You'll be fine on buggies. You could take one away from mothercare on the day if you wanted to. You may have to wait if there's a particular one you want. Got to say I'm loving my icandy pram/ buggy. We've been out for a couple of walks and its so light and cosy for him. I'm totally sold on it!!

Firsty - I really hope you get some movement soon. The waiting can be pretty frustrating. It will all be worth it once the LO is here - keep smiling

Hi to everyone else... Glad you've got some good help at work Fettle - that must be such a relief. And not long until you are off on leave too

Bodkin - How are you doing? I've reached that rock hard nork stage yesterday / today. Ouch!!!!

Bodkin · 17/07/2007 12:01

HELLO ALL! More one handed typing im afraid...

Chooster, so pleased you are home and things are rosy. Isnt it lovely having a teeny tiny one again... my DD seems like some kind of giant in comparison! Isla is also a booby-monster, shes packing on the weight like a good-un. Her little hands, which were like wrinkled paper bags, have filled out and got chubby already!

Mrs - great news on the nuchal results

Greedy - afterpains much worse this time, combined with a weird bloated sensation - i think it was all my "innards" settling back into their rightful places!

Honey - i take it you wont be using dudley then? I think thats why i didnt want to share as i knew it might get a few 's but i agree with firsty, i think it is a name with character!

Babymad - soooo true about the superwoman comment! am trying to take things easy, and luckily DP is aroungd to help with things a bit, but its still quite knackering.

We are off to see all the family (dps, followed by mine) this weekend, plus we are going to the wedding (well done isla for coming a week early ) so that will be fun / exhausting!

Fettle, hope the kitchen goes well. i am completely obsessive about keeping ours clean and nice now, even dreamt about it last night

Hello to everyone else - kitkat, seaside, iwillbe..... anyone else ive forgotten....

honeyapple · 17/07/2007 13:17

Hiya,

Lovely to hear from you, Bodkin and Chooster. Glad to hear all is going well with your lovely babes.

Bodders- I'm not opposed to the name Dudley actually! It was the name of my grandad on my dad's side.

Not much to report here.

Lots of love to all.

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/07/2007 13:50

hiya bodders! bet you can't believe little isla is a week old already!!!.....

chooster - i love the name theo! it sounds like a real 'cool dude' kind of name!!!

i am getting so impatient for my little girl to pop out now!!! its not fair. keep thinking about the birth in way too much detail and trying to decide what to do this time......do i want a waterbirth if possible? i can tdecide!!! i did say after last time i would never have another one but i think maybe i just didnt like it cos i was ill. i can't decide!!!!!! might even go back for some antenatal classes again!....i feel like i have forgotten EVERYTHING!!!!

fettle - i was reading one of my little books today (think it was emma's diary, but not sure! and it said 7 % of babies are born preterm! it was telling you what to do if you went into labour now etc and it made it all seem so CLOSE and REAL!!!!!

we are moving out of our house on sunday and going to stay with my parents because our builders are going to knock through into our bedroom and dds bedroom. i wont be able to get online much to check what is going on, so if you could have your babies before then firsty and babymad then that would be great!!!......kitkat, you can wait a few weeks until i move back into my house again, ok?

any pics on your profile yet chooster???

honeyapple - wish my dh would tell me my tits looked fab!!!!! they dont look great without a bra at the moment though i have to admit!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/07/2007 15:12

honey - i KNEW you would post on the oct htread after reading all the BF comments!!! you are just too predictable!!!

KitKat30 · 17/07/2007 15:38

Hi everyone

Sorry havent had a chance to post, I had a bit of a day of it yesterday... had my routine MW appt. All fine, but my blood pressure was really high - and you know I've been having problems with swollen feet and ankles...etc. She was really concerned so sent me off to hospital to be checked and monitored in case it was pre-eclampsia.

Had loads of tests done and was monitored for ages - everything seems to be OK. All the tests were negative, but my BP is still high, so they're keeping an eye on me. Here's hoping it's just stress and nothing more serious. Very scary few hours, but am feeling OK now...slightly worried but OK.

Just trying to keep stress levels down... DH has promised to be nice and not cause me any anxiety. And I'm not going to overdo it at work anymore...I'll do what I can and no more!

Anyway, sorry for the long rambling post about myself! Hope you're all OK - and let this be a lesson to us all to take it nice and easy. No stress!! That's an order...

kitkat - sorry to hear about your stresses. hope your bp comes back down to normal soon. how much longer do you have at work??

firsty - it is my ds's bday tomorrow so why dont you do what i did 4 years ago on 18th July.....and give birth!!! go on.....you know you want to!!! have a pineapple curry tonight girl!!

has anyone read any of 'mozhes' threads??? i think i might be stalking her! i cant decide if she is an amazing woman, or a bit of a loon!!!..i THINK i have decided she must be a bit off her rocker!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/07/2007 15:55

the only comments we had at our scan were that our little girl had really long legs!..........not a bad thing really! we wwere told that about my other two as well..........and surprisingly they were right! especially about my dd she is a giant!!!! i know it wont mean much to those of you without little ones ............but she is 105cm already and only 2 1/2!!! i reckon she will be well over 6ft when she is grown up!.............i just hope she will be slim and not built like a 'brick shit house' (as the saying goes!!!)...........i guess she could always be a shotputter though!
