So, I need some help / positivity, according to my last menstrual bleed (15th Jan was my first day), I'm apparently 11 weeks, but I paid for a private scan on Saturday and after much searching (the gestational sac looked empty at first, she had to press hard and up) she seen a yolk sac but foetus was positioned difficulty. The sonographer said that it looks like I'm around 6 weeks pregnant not 10, and that it is showing a pregnancy is happening and they'd like to check again in 1 week. Could she actually be right? Or could this be a silent miscarriage? I've had no bleeding, my nausea has settled the past few days but my breasts are still tender. I've got my nhs scan due then on April 11th as well. Can my dates be that much off or does it sound like the yolk sac and foetus stopped early on?
She did say dates are wrong all the time, but I'm just thinking the worst

@VenusStarr I hope so too. I really do. I haven’t had any tests no, however after the last miscarriage the midwife at the EPU advised me to contact once I was pregnant again so this time round I have - Hence the scan on Thursday and my bloods being checked. She did advise she had referred me to the recurrent miscarriage clinic and they called me last week but as I am pregnant again they didn’t need me to come in. I think it’s normally 3 in a row first before you are checked. Yes definitely, I was lucky I fell again 7 weeks after MC. Have faith and before you know it you will have a little bundle of joy in your arms. I found the clear blue ovulation test worked wonders for me though. I don’t think we would have been pregnant so quick if it wasn’t for those. I would definitely recommend them if you haven’t tried them already. Xx

VenusStarr · 09/09/2019 15:35

Thank you @Lindsay93, I will ask the epu on Friday about the recurrent miscarriage clinic but don't think they'll refer as it's mc number 2. I am under the fertility clinic where the rmc is (different to the epu hospital), so will also speak to the consultant tomorrow. Feel like there is some hope for us 🤞

I'll see what the doctor says tomorrow about us ttc again, if they give us the go ahead to try again then we could try the clearblue opks.

I'll be thinking of you this week :) xx

Lindsay93 · 09/09/2019 16:49

@VenusStarr yes definitely ask what harm can it do? They might advise to wait till your first period then try again using the opks. Just enjoy your self in the mean time.

I will let you both know how I get on Thursday. Xxx

Help1983uk · 09/09/2019 21:22

@VenusStarr I'm so sorry Flowers did you have your 2nd scan earlier than planned?
Yes I hope you manage to get some answers. Maybe have little break away with your DH if you can, you really deserve it xx
@Lindsay93 I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm sure everything will be perfect when you have your scan, sending you lots of good wishes, and yes definately keep us updated xxx

Hi @Help1983uk, no my scan is on Friday but I believe I miscarried yesterday, was very similar to the first one. Hoping the scan will just confirm it's all complete.
How's things with you, are you in your tww? 🤞 Xx

VenusStarr · 10/09/2019 17:55

Hi @Lindsay93, we've been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic which I'm pleased about. I know it possibly won't tell us why we lost these two babies but might help prevent further losses 🤞

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow xx

Help1983uk · 12/09/2019 21:34

Hi @VenusStarr and @Lindsay93, so I thought I'd missed my window this month, turns out I hadn't. I had a positive pregnancy test on Monday eve, but negative later through the week and it's ended up being a chemical. Been to the docs today to discuss it etc, and now I'm spotting pink and brown with stringy bits. Sorry tmi.
Hoping 3rd time is a charm, shall see.
You both doing okay? Xx

@help1983uk I am sorry to hear that.. please have faith it will happen for you eventually like it did with me. I had my scan today and it was good news we seen a heartbeat on the screen and measuring 7 weeks 1 day with everything looking how it should. Don’t give up and let this beat you. I almost did and wouldn’t be here if I did give up. Just take it easy until your next period and try the clear blue opks they worked a treat for me this time and the last. Xxx

VenusStarr · 13/09/2019 14:46

I'm sorry to hear that @Help1983uk, hope your GP was supportive ❤️

Great news about your scan @Lindsay93 😊

Had my follow up scan this morning and it's been confirmed that everything has gone 💔 I don't know if it's my hormones dropping or a delayed grief response but I'm struggling a lot. We've decided to not continue ttc for a while, I don't want to face another mc without resolving the fibroid issue. Hopefully having my hysteroscopy within the next couple of months and hoping to see the recurrent miscarriage clinic soon. Keep in touch please 💜 xx

Lindsay93 · 22/09/2019 17:59

@Help1983uk @VenusStarr hi ladies, how are we both? Xx

VenusStarr · 23/09/2019 16:22

@Lindsay93 I'm not good to be honest, feel like I'm getting worse as time goes on. Any hope or optimism I had has gone. Supposed to be 11 weeks today and it's our first little one's due date in a few weeks. I don't feel like I'm coping at all.

Hope you're OK x

Help1983uk · 04/10/2019 21:22

@VenusStarr and @Lindsay93 how are you ladies doing?
I'm half way through my 2ww again, with weird positive opks again after I've already ovulated, who knows what's going on!

How is the pregnancy going Lindsay?

Also Venus, I was reading up a few days ago about Hughes syndrome - have you read about it? It can cause multiple miscarriages as the blood isn't getting around properly. Lots have it and it goes undiagnosed - many end up taking baby asprin for it and give birth successfully. I'm thinking about making a GP app to discuss maybe trying that as I recall having lots of shooting pains down my thighs and calves and pins & needles in my hands when I had my first pregnancy at the beginning of this year, which ofcourse ended on MMC

Lindsay93 · 06/10/2019 05:53

That’s brill news @Help1983uk hopefully all goes ok for you. My fingers and toes are crossed. Let us know how you get on Smile

All seems to be going ok so far thank goddess, I have another scan on Thursday and I will be 11+1 other than the sickness for the last 3/4 weeks I have been fine and the sickness has now subsided now.

How’s things @VenusStarr? Xx

Help1983uk · 06/10/2019 10:37

Hi @Lindsay93, that's great news, I'm glad everything is going well xx

@VenusStarr hope you're okay [heart]

VenusStarr · 07/10/2019 21:14

Hi @Help1983uk I haven't heard of Hughes syndrome, will look it up. We have our rmc appointment in January, ages away. I'm due to have my surgery in early December. Feeling a bit deflated that everything is on hold now, I'm not risking a pregnancy again without the investigations. I'm planning on calling the hospital regularly to try and bring the operation and appointment forward.
How's things with you?

Glad all is well @Lindsay93 :)

Help1983uk · 09/10/2019 22:16

@VenusStarr yeah look into it, it's also known as sticky blood and some other name beginning with 'a'. What surgery are you having?
I was thinking yest that if I didn't have my MMC earlier this year, I actually would've been due around now. Weird thought xx

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 10/10/2019 11:14

Thanks @Help1983uk, I've had a look and have heard of sticky blood. I'm hoping our rmc will look into this for us as part of their testing. I did ask dh if he would consider private testing but he feels January isn't that far away so wants to hold out for that.

I'm having a hysteroscopy and fibroid resection. The baby implanted on the same side as a large fibroid this time, so not sure if that impacted it's space / growth.

My due date is less than a month away now, we've booked a spa night away, just to have something to look forward to and take our minds of it. I'd planned to break up work this week too.

How's things with you? X

VenusStarr · 14/10/2019 15:03

Hey @Help1983uk @Lindsay93 how are you both getting on?

I've managed to get a cancellation for the recurrent miscarriage clinic for next week! So glad we don't have to wait until Wednesday now. I'm just reading up on what tests we might have and hughes syndrome is mentioned in the miscarriage association leaflet. Feeling relieved that something is happening, even if it's just an appointment.

Hope you're both good xx

VenusStarr · 14/10/2019 15:05

*wait until January! The appointment is Wednesday

Lindsay93 · 14/10/2019 15:23

@VenusStarr hey, I am doing away- sickness returned with a vengeance yesterday. Unable to keep fluids down now and although I’m cold I have a temperature. Thinking I’m maybe really dehydrated Waiting on duty doctor calling me back to take next steps to see if I need to go to hospital.
Brill news you got a cancellation so quick, will put ur mind at ease and you will be able to get answers sooner rather than later. Easier said that done but try keep an open mind and try and relax. Everything will work out in the end. 🥰 xx

How’s things @Help1983uk xx

Help1983uk · 14/10/2019 18:18

Hi @VenusStarr I'm glad it's been moved up forward, hopefully you'll get answers. Definitely keep us updated on what they do.
@Lindsay93 aww no, sounds rough, are you not able to keep anything down?

I'm good thanks, got a faint bfp today, but I can't get excited yet as I had this last month and ended up a chemical. I'm going to phone the docs tomorrow to see if it's safe if I take baby asprin as I've read so many positive things about it x

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 14/10/2019 18:29

Oh @Lindsay93 I hope you're OK, sounds awful but if hospital is where you need to be. Hope you feel better soon xx

@Help1983uk tentative congratulations! Dh and I discussed that we would try baby aspirin for our next pregnancy, we figured it wouldn't do any harm. But hopefully, now we've brought our rmc clinic appointment forward they might give a bit more insight 🤞

I'll let you know how I get on next week xx

VenusStarr · 25/10/2019 06:46

Hey both

@Lindsay93 did you need to go to hospital in the end? How are you feeling?

@Help1983uk how are you? Hope your faint bfp progressed?

Had our rmc appointment this week. It went well. The doctor really listened and I mentioned the sticky blood being a potential reason, especially as both pregnancies have stopped developing at the same stage and he seemed to be agreeing with me. Had the blood tests and then back in January for more bloods. He was happy I'm having a hysteroscopy and said once I'm recovered from that we can carry on ttc and we'll get extra scans from there, plus any medical support of the bloods show something. Feeling a lot better about things at the moment.

Hooe you're both OK xx

Help1983uk · 28/10/2019 21:02

Hi @VenusStarr sorry it's been a while, had to take myself away from forums. Ended up being a chemical again 2 months running, so I asked for full blood tests, which have finally come back. Looking at the report I can see that I have a high platelet count which can cause spontaneous clotting / sticky blood, so I'm going to call the docs tomorrow morning to get an appointment to see if I can take asprin / heparin from my next faint postive. It's ridiculous how bad my docs are, they haven't contacted me about my high reading, I got a print off from reception and had to read it using google myself.

What's the latest with you?

Also @Lindsay93 you doing okay? Xxx

OP posts:
Lindsay93 · 28/10/2019 22:05

@VenusStarr so glad you managed to bring the appointment forward and hopefully you are on the road to getting some answers once and for all. Well done for being so brave. Smile

@help1983uk
I am so so sorry to hear that. Yeah call your docs and keep on at them it’s terrible they didn’t discuss the outcome with you. Let us know the outcome of your appointment.

I’m getting on ok, did end up getting admitted to hospital with extreme dehydration, high blood pressure and unable to keep anything down. Was giving a 2 week sickline and finally went back to work today. The sickness has passed again so fingers crossed this is it and I can continue to enjoy things going forward.

Xx
