@FirstTimeMama91 I'd wait for the epu to see you Monday lovely.. I know it's scary when you've got bleeds. I had them at 6/8/11 weeks with DS2 and then a major one at 14 weeks. Never a reason really and he's a very healthy 9 month old so it can work our ok. Rest up as much as you can lovely xx

Sessy19 · 06/04/2019 07:09

I would imagine that, as a brand name, baby bond is acceptable but that your local one has scuppered its reputation.

Like any organisation, you’re going to get someone working there eventually who oversteps the mark! I read here or on another thread that at a private VIABILITY scan, the sinographer started reading nuchal translucency!!! At 8wks or something! Absolutely nuts and totally unprofessional.

If you take the scan for what it is, to visualise the heartbeat, and check the pregnancy is viable, you are getting what you paid for and not inviting trouble. Pregnant women will obviously be freaked out if they think they’re 8w4d, for example and they measure 7w2d!! Not everyone knows about late ovulation or irregular cycles etc.

I’d see EPU, if they scan you then your baby bond scan isn’t necessary. But I wouldn’t be put off by the maternity nurses’ comment if I were you.

FirstTimeMama91 · 06/04/2019 08:40

Thanks @Sessy19 and @Mintypea5 it's so hard waiting. I just want to hear the wee heartbeat Sad going to just rest all weekend and pray for the best Thanks

Mintypea5 · 06/04/2019 09:50

@FirstTimeMama91 the waiting is so hard but stay positive lovely. My epu are always really good about ringing first thing so hopefully you won't be waiting too long.

We're off to our 2 nephews christening today and I feel awful! Pregnancy tiredness combined with basically no sleep (mixture of ill DH, baby being up and pregnancy insomnia) not sure how I'm going to survive

FirstTimeMama91 · 06/04/2019 09:55

@Mintypea5 I booked a baby bond scan for tomorrow too just to hopefully give me some reassurance.

Awk god help you just take it easy Thanks home early and feet up x

Kaff83 · 06/04/2019 10:02

@mintypea5 ugh, good luck! Living normal life especially looking after small children is so hard when you feel like this. We've got our nephews first birthday tomorrow and I'm dreading it. It's my partner's family and he's keen to wait til 12 week scan to tell them so they'll just think I'm being moody / lazy all day no doubt. Going to pray for good sleep from the kids tonight!

Colleen437 · 06/04/2019 11:19

@FirstTimeMama91 I spotted at 5 and 7 weeks. I had an internal scan at the epu and the baby was fine, heart beat was fine and it was a viable pregnancy. Honestly don't stress to much and don't google!

OhMarnie · 06/04/2019 13:16

Ladies I need your inspiration. I'm trying to write the food shopping list but everything we used to have is now at best 'meh' and at worst gag-inducing. Obviously we're all different but what kinds of meals have you tolerated well?

LittleAndOften · 06/04/2019 13:28

@ohmarnie I've been eating quite random things - tins of chicken or minestrone soup, homemade egg fried rice, oven chips, chicken supernoodles, wraps with ham and bagged salad like watercress or rocket. Cheddar on cream crackers, plain crisps, lots of melon (I like the cold freshness), jelly. A very odd mix!

Aph413 · 06/04/2019 13:30

@OhMarnie pasta and cheese, crackers and pastrami, calippo ice lollies.
Usually anything beige like french fries.

@FirstTimeMama91 We used babybond for our early scan. We went at 6w1d and the sonographer showed us the sack and yolk but no heartbeat. The sonographer was nice and professional and didn't fill us with hope (rightly so) but equally didn't make us overly worried (without OH there to calm me down that might not have been the case). We went back this morning for a free rescan and saw a different sonographer (who is also a midwife) and she was so much more informative throughout the scan - although there was more to see so perhaps she had the easier job! But from the start she put us so much more at ease. I guess it's not only the brand but the individual!

@OhMarnie I'm with you! Things that have been okay for me and not completely bland... Spicy rice, breaded chicken, BBQ ribs, chilli con carne, sausage casserole, tomato soup & loads of bread. Sorry that it's not very inspirational!!! I used to love Asian food but the thought of it alone now makes me want to throw up Sad

cakeordeath89 · 06/04/2019 14:31

Had our first scan this morning with Baby Bond. The guy could not have been nicer or more friendly. He seemed knowledgeable and had a very reassuring tone. Feeling a bit deflated though as dated back to 6+2 when my LMP was 6th Feb, unless I'm misunderstanding the dates calculations :(

PrayingandHoping · 06/04/2019 14:35

@cakeordeath89 what did u think u were?

Mines an ivf baby do no doubt what my dates are. At my 7 week scan the measurements were 6+4 but they said at that stage dating cannot be accurate and obv in my situation it proves that! Had another scan at 9 weeks and measured exactly right.

Pollypocket5 · 06/04/2019 14:37

@cakeordeath89 I had the same thing. I was meant to be 7w+2 but was dated back to 5w+6. It did worry me but I quickly learnt that it's quite normal and you should wait until the 12 week scan to be properly dated.

Colleen437 · 06/04/2019 14:41

I had a scan at7+2 and they said I was 6+1 but it's apparently normal that early.

cakeordeath89 · 06/04/2019 14:43

All the due date calculators have me around 20th November but this puts me back to 28th. I'm not too concerned as he said it had a really good strong heartbeat and you could see it fluttering. It was between 5 and 5mm.
I would have put myself closer to 7 weeks.

PrayingandHoping · 06/04/2019 14:45

@cakeordeath89 I would take it with a pinch of salt. Wait until your official dating scan at 12 weeks.

You could have ovulated later so it is possible it's right but it also might be not as my scenario shows x

TrashKitten10 · 06/04/2019 15:40

@OhMarnie I've had the same issue trying to shop for food. I just want to eat what I'm fancying in that moment so its quite hard to plan ahead. I'm finding potato of any description a pretty safe bet, jacket potato, mash or oven chips. I'm totally off veg and 'meaty' meat. Chicken dippers/nuggets are fine because they're hidden as such but a hunk of meat gets the nausea going. I've just adopted the diet of a fussy toddler :)

Anybody else burping for Britain at the moment? I could never really burp before but I've impressed DH with some of the burps I've managed the last week Grin

Mintypea5 · 06/04/2019 15:55

@cakeordeath89 I was dated back by about a week too at my early scan. I had the same thing happen with DS2. More than likely you'll catch up at your 12 weeks. Early scans are so hard for them to get a completely accurate measurement because everything's so small but also developing differently (like some people see heartbeats way earlier)

I'm soooooooooooo tired! Just about survived the christening. First thing I did was get home and put on my old super comfy nursing bras! Omg best thing I ever brought and only cost a few quid on amazon Grin

DH is poorly so I'm letting him rest up. Just saw an advert for trifle and now REALLY want one

ChesMum2019 · 06/04/2019 17:04

For anyone struggling with sickness I found a ginger cordial in Sainsbury's. It's quite spicy but drinking it warm helps a little. It's Belvoir press ginger cordial. Around £3 a bottle but worth it. I've had quite a rough few days so I'll take anything for a little light relief.

babybear1127 · 06/04/2019 18:13

Hi everyone! Joining this thread as I’m 7+1 and have been so shocked at how bad I feel at the moment - I know this is supposed to be a happy time but omg I’m not enjoying the constant nausea, exhaustion and listlessness. :-( lets hope this wears off soon so I can get some of that “glow” everyone talks about!

Smiffette · 06/04/2019 18:30

I have my first scan date come through, at which I'll be 12+2 by my calculations so will be interested to know who far along I am dated at that!
It's not until the 24th though so a couple weeks to go! They can't go quick enough!! Grin

FirstTimeMama91 · 06/04/2019 18:53

I'm out girls... heart is broken. I wish all of you and your babies a healthy pregnancy xxx

Mintypea5 · 06/04/2019 19:04

Pollypocket5 · 06/04/2019 19:06
