Some cramping today freaking me out Sad discharge looked like it had a wee tiny hint of brown in it too. Panicking. Currently 7+1

TrashKitten10 · 05/04/2019 11:14

@FirstTimeMama91 Don't panic sweetie, remember some cramping is normal and brown blood is old blood and can be very common in pregnancy. Give your GP or midwife a call and see what they advise.

FirstTimeMama91 · 05/04/2019 11:44

@TrashKitten10 thanks lovely.. it's prob nothing will wait and see how I get on. Not cramping anymore

Enwi · 05/04/2019 11:47

@trashkitten10 she’s doing just fine thank you! We were out of neonatal in two weeks and so grateful for our time there x

MrBobLoblaw · 05/04/2019 12:12

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been so absent from the threads. I have hardly any time to keep up as I'm working and running around after DS!

Just wondered if anyone else was considering a home birth? DS was born very quickly and the midwives all said I should consider it for DC2.

MrBobLoblaw · 05/04/2019 12:13

Pressed post too soon!
Had my booking in this week and my scan is on the 23rd. Feeling a bit anxious about it. 10 weeks now and it's going so fast!!

butterflytrain · 05/04/2019 12:49

Hi ladies. I am looking for some advice and tips.

I am currently 7 weeks (first timer), I have literally the worst cold ever. Completely bunged up, sore throat, coughs - you name it!

I don't mind the cough and sore throat but I cannot deal with a blocked nose, especially at night. I haven't slept for days! I haven't got my appointment with the midwife yet so I am a bit stuck.
I have tried saline spray, lemon and honey mix and steaming but nothing is working!

Does anyone know if I can use vaporub?

FirstTimeMama91 · 05/04/2019 12:59

@butterflytrain I was like that a couple weeks ago - get ginger and put it in with the hot water and lemon and honey. Hope you feel better soon x

ChesMum2019 · 05/04/2019 13:24

Week 11 and I've not feel this bad yet. I literally want to curl up in a ball wherever I am. Kids on half term so extra challenging trying to keep the youngest occupied. My arms hurt to lift up my legs ache I feel like I'm so hungry yet eat and feel worse. I'm hoping as the next few weeks go by It may start to ease a little. I don't want anyone to think I'm complaining I'm grateful in every way for this pregnancy and will take everything it throws at me x

Pollypocket5 · 05/04/2019 13:33

@ChesMum2019 I feel you with the eating. I am not wanting any meals atm just snacks like crisps and chocolate. I know it's not the healthiest but surely it's better to just eat something rather than nothing right?

Enwi · 05/04/2019 13:33

@mrbobloblaw me! I was totally planned for one first time around, but then I ended up in preterm labour and had no choice but to go to the hospital. My labour was very quick (well... when I finally got onto the labour-ward and the induction was properly started it was!) so I it’s definitely my preferred birth plan again this time x

Pop1234 · 05/04/2019 14:01

@butterflytrain I am with you on the cold front, I feel awful!! All I've been taking is paracetamol and just drinking plenty. It's horrid.

butterflytrain · 05/04/2019 14:03

I just want to be able to breathe and sleep ! Sad

Mintypea5 · 05/04/2019 14:08

@FirstTimeMama91 how are you feeling now? Try not to worry

Mintypea5 · 05/04/2019 14:10

@butterflytrain poor you!! I've had the worse cold and cough for the last few weeks. We have a dehumidifier which helps at night. You can get them in Argos. Ours has a bit to put a vicks tab thing in so you get a menthol sent to breath in. Also use my sons calpol plug in.

I've basically sat in hot steamy showers to clear my nose and drunk hot honey ginger and lemon tea

butterflytrain · 05/04/2019 16:13

How about turmeric milk? Heard it has great benefits to build immune system, no idea how it tastes thou!

L0ULEW · 05/04/2019 16:42

@MrBobLoblaw I'm considering a home birth but I also have a home like birthing centre near me which is really lucky! Happy either way but I'm going to decide alot later once I know if the pregnancy has been smooth :)

thumper59 · 05/04/2019 16:44

@TrashKitten10 it's mental isn't it! I can't wait for the 12 week scan. It seems so low till you blink and realise how fast the weeks are going! I'm glad your OH is coming with you to the booking. It's nice to do stuff together especially early days!

LittleAndOften · 05/04/2019 17:02

@butterflytrain I tried that before, got a numb tongue! I should have googled the side effects haha.

Kaff83 · 05/04/2019 17:41

I definitely do not feel like it's going fast - every exhausting, nauseous day feels like it lasts a week! This last hour until my partner gets home is sooooo long! Tv time for the kids I think.

Mommytobe2017 · 05/04/2019 20:01

I wondered why there were no replies 😂🤦‍♀️
I posted on the wrong thread

Hi,
I'm 7+4, I had my bfp 3 weeks ago
I've been having a really dodgy tummy and I now think it's some kind of milk allergy 😭
I hope it's hormone related because I miss gorging on chocolate 🍫
We already have DD who is almost 2
I'm 28 (29 in July)

I have my first appt with mw on Tuesday. I'm excited but feel more anxious than last time

I've been feeling the cold really badly as well. My hands have been going blue. Might be low iron as I had it last time so will find out after booking bloods next week

Smile I've joined the FB group just waiting to be accepted
ChesMum2019 · 05/04/2019 20:07

Today has well and truly defeated me. I feel horrendous head pounding. I've tried to have a nap I just woke feeling worse and like if I move I will be sick. Not ashamed to say today brought me to tears 😭

Walktwomoons · 05/04/2019 20:57

Hello everyone! According to my early scan I am a bit further on than I thought I was,so I'm actually 10 weeks and 3 days. @chesmum I've been having headached and I've found that coconut water helps,or failing that, tons of normal water.

I woke up FOUR times during the night to pee last night... Is that normal? Is it just because I'm drinking so much in order to not have headaches and feel sick? Seems excessive...

FirstTimeMama91 · 05/04/2019 21:36

@Mintypea5 uh what a worrying day Sad brown discharge has progressively got worse and still cramping. Have cried so much today. Doctor told me to go to maternity. Waited ages finally got seen. Doctor checked cervix, she said there had been bleeding but it had stopped. Then referred me to Early Pregnancy Unit who will phone me on Monday. Such a horrible worrying time. Going to rest all weekend and take Monday off work. Hoping all is fine I can't imagine the worst.. Sad

FirstTimeMama91 · 05/04/2019 21:38

I'm booked in with baby bond for 8 week scan next Friday. I asked a nurse earlier in maternity what she thought of baby bond and she said they didn't really trust them? Said people have came into maternity in hysterics after baby bond telling them incorrect information? I was thinking of moving my appointment forward to settle my mind but now don't know what to do
