Just checking in to share my sympathy with all suffering with nausea and tiredness. I feel awful!

We've not DTD since we found out I'm pregnant. Partly my choice but also partly DP as he is worrying about hurting me. We agreed we'd leave it until we've had our private scan and seen the midwife and then see how we both feel.

On another note, how often and early is it acceptable to wear your dressing gown? Asking for a friend.

TrashKitten10 · 04/04/2019 18:17

I have my booking in appointment with the midwife on Tuesday, are you/did you bring your partners along to this? I'm not sure what to say to DH about whether he should come or not

Kaff83 · 04/04/2019 18:21

@trashkitten - it's not the most exciting appointment, just lots and lots of questions. Scans and/or 16 week plus appts where they listen to their heart rate are more rewarding. My partner only ever joined for scans for my first two and that felt fine and seemed to be normal!

Kaff83 · 04/04/2019 18:23

Re sex, er no, I think I would puke on his face 😂😂

QforCucumber · 04/04/2019 18:42

@TrashKitten10 both my booking appointments dh hasn't come- they're really nothing interesting

Smiffette · 04/04/2019 19:13

My DH didn't come to my booking appointment, he will only come to scans which I'm fine with. Didn't feel like it made sense him coming to the others... he would just get bored!

thumper59 · 04/04/2019 19:16

@TrashKitten10 my OH came. He wasn't needed as such but was lovely to have him their and him be involved in the journey. Don't think he'll come to midwife apps from here on out, just scans though as pointless him taking the time off work. X

OhMarnie · 04/04/2019 19:38

Haha DH and I haven't DTD since the BFP, I've had zero sex drive and been tired and pukey all the time.

On another note, we had our first scan today! Dated at 8+3 which is spot on with my predicted dates I put in my app, little blob measuring 19mm with a strong heartbeat 🥰

Mintypea5 · 04/04/2019 20:05

@TrashKitten10 I. My trust they insist fathers come if possible (obviously not always possible) my last booking in was 3 hours and the midwife spent as much time talking to me as she did DH re family history etc

Pollypocket5 · 04/04/2019 20:15

Is anyone else really bad at remembering to take their vitamins?

JoJoSaysHello · 04/04/2019 20:23

@Pollypocket5 thank you for the reminder!!! (Take that as a yes!)

bobble53 · 04/04/2019 20:59

Hey everyone. I took 5 positive tests last week and have predicted I’m 6 weeks pregnant. My first appointment isn’t until the end of April. Last week I felt sick constantly and bloated and this week I’m absolutely fine no symptoms at all other than a bit sore boobs. I can’t help but worry why my symptoms have just gone?? Is anybody else the same? I want to do a pregnancy test every day until my midwife appointment/first scan but I sound mad!!

Enwi · 04/04/2019 21:21

Hi ladies, does anyone mind if I join?
I’m actually due early December, but I’m at high risk of pre term labour and my waters went with my daughter 6 weeks early, so I thought it might be nice to be surrounded by others with similar aged babies.
Congratulations everyone!

RainhamRosie · 04/04/2019 22:05

@bobble53 I've been the same with fluctuating symptoms and I've spent a sloppy fortune on tests, just to reassure myself. I've calmed down a bit now although symptoms are still coming and going, although nausea and hunger are pretty constant since last week.

RainhamRosie · 04/04/2019 22:06

Welcome @Enwi Smile

Hayley89 · 04/04/2019 22:52

Hi ladies! Has anyone found a miracle cure for bloating? I'm trying to eat fiber rich foods but I can only really face eating plain carbs which I know isn't helping. Water intake is up. Slow eating is a must anyway (🤢). I'm assuming I can't take medication for it but is there something natural that actually works?!?!?! I'm soooooo sick of looking like I swallowed a beach ball already (and my OH won't let me wear any more of his shirts ... RUDE!)

Welcome to all the new Mummas!! Thanks

Mintypea5 · 04/04/2019 23:11

@Pollypocket5 yep rubbish at remembering ... have been each time

Welcome @Enwi

@bobble53 it's normal
For symptoms to come and go but clearly can be worrying. Try stay positive and if you're not having any signs of anything bad like cramps or bleeding chances are it's all fine Flowers

So rock and roll! In bed behold 9:30 ... my 9 month old just woke up and I couldn't believe it's not even Pat midnight BlushConfused back to bed lol

tigsyboo · 05/04/2019 08:53

@Hayley89
I was really badly bloated and I read the actimel helps. You have to have full fat so there is less artificial sweeteners so I brought a pack (blueberry!) from Sainsburys... my bloating has halved and (TMI) but ive poo'd everyday which is a miracle for me! Xx

Lozzlepop · 05/04/2019 09:16

@jacquesjacques Hahah that is very true 😂

I am glad to hear most people are in the same boat, I do feel bad for DP but I am tired and feeling sicky a lot so deffo not feeling sexy but have agreed that we can try at the weekend when we are both less tired etc!

@Mintypea5 just tell them when you feel comfortable hun!

@dottydally yes I think DP is thinking the same he doesn't want to hurt me- bless him

@TrashKitten10 I am taking DP to my booking in appointment, mainly because I need him to take me there, if I left him at work I would only need to go pick him up later so easier he just comes along, plus I think he wants to be as involved as possible.

@OhMarnie thats fantastic news I bet you are thrilled 😀

A week today till my booking in appointment 😁we have friends coming to stay tonight, cue another bunch of lies about being on antibiotics for some sort of mystery 🤣can't wait to tell people and stop with the lies lol! Hope everyone has a fab weekend planned!

dottydally · 05/04/2019 09:32

@Lozzlepop I'm also taking DP to my booking appointment. I know it isn't essential but he knows his family history better than I do and it's nice for him to be involved in things. There will be plenty of appointments he can't come to so he may as well come while he can.

I also think that it can feel less real for men. I can feel it as I feel like crap but for him other than my constant moaning nothing has changed. We have a private scan in a few days so hopefully that will start the excitement properly!

Can you just pretend to drink? Something with a mixer (Coke/lemonade) is usually good.

thumper59 · 05/04/2019 10:01

I can't believe I'm 10 weeks Monday already. Week 9 has absolutely wiped me out! Today is the most human I've felt all week

Lozzlepop · 05/04/2019 10:10

@dottydally yeah thats my thinking exactly! Yeah we have a scan 2 weeks tomorrow so I think we can both relax then once we know everything is ok! Unfortunately not as we are going out for dinner too 😂I only have one more event that is quite an easy one to make up an excuse as its a party at a friends house that lives about 45 miles away so I will be designated driver 👌🏻by that point we will hopefully be able to tell our families which I am starting to get v excited about!

@thumper59 oh no have you been struggling? Hope you feel better, have a nice restful weekend if possible ❤️

thumper59 · 05/04/2019 10:16

@Lozzlepop the scan is amazing I can't wait for you to have yours! Such a surreal feeling. 3 weeks yesterday to our first nhs scan.

Yeah it's been a bit of a tough week! Extreme nausea and tiredness took over and I've had such bad reflux, feeling a lot better today though thank the lord! Thankyou, off to watch dumbo tonight so I can't wait for that!

Lozzlepop · 05/04/2019 10:52

@thumper aw I am super excited, hoping that the next 2 weeks fly in 🤞🏻ahhh thats so exciting!

What a nightmare, I haven't been too bad yet- although I feel that all I do is yawn lol, thinking I might buy some plain biscuits to nibble on as I tend to have breakfast about 4 hours after I get up and I feel ill from my stomach being so empty! Thats good you are feeling better! Oh how lovely that will be a great film to go and see 😃

TrashKitten10 · 05/04/2019 10:54

Thanks all for your booking in experiences. DH's boss is letting him leave off work to come with me. I'm sure he'll be bored to tears but at least he can feel bored to tears and involved Grin

@OhMarnie Brilliant! So pleased for you :) Seeing the heartbeat is magical isn't it.

@Pollypocket5 Yes I try to take mine with dinner but on more than one occasion I've only remembered after I've got into bed and sent DH to fetch them as obviously the pregnant lady needs to stay warm and cosy 😌

@bobble53 Congrats! I think a lot of us have been there worrying about symptoms disappearing and the only advice there is is that without heavy bleeding and cramping, you should assume that things are still okay :)

@Enwi Welcome! Was your birth and baby okay? Must have been a bit of a worry your waters going early.

@Hayley89 no suggestions but if you find a cure do let me and my Buddha belly know!

@thumper59 Can't believe you and the early due dates in the month are heading towards 10 weeks! It only seems that we were on the TTC thread about 5 minutes ago and now we're nearly in double figure weeks and there's already a December due date thread! It's flying :)
