@PyjamasForever glad your scan went well! So exciting

Suddenly feeling so excited for 12 week scan. Shame it's not until May at this rate Shock

cakeordeath89 · 29/03/2019 13:17

@PyjamasForever I'm so dumb today, I'm confused how you can be more days than actually have been since the 11th Feb? I'm sorry if that sounds really stupid, I'm really new to this whole pregnancy calendar and calculations.

PyjamasForever · 29/03/2019 13:36

@cakeordeath89 when they work out EDD from your last period they presume you ovulated on day 14 of a 28 day cycle. So you are "2 weeks pregnant" before you even ovulate. If you ovulate earlier than day 14 or later or have a different length cycle the dates can change.

Prequelle · 29/03/2019 13:42

Midwife was really nice. Did briefly discuss that I might have to have a section coz of something in my medical history :(

Booking in appointment is in 3 weeks, I'll be 11+3 then

Mintypea5 · 29/03/2019 13:54

@Prequelle my best friend just had a planned section and she had a really positive experience. I've only ever been induced which also were both very positive xx

Lozzlepop · 29/03/2019 14:14

@cakeordeath89 yeah its best to keep your mind occupied on other things and hopefully the week will fly in! That's a really good point we've got a good 7-8 months to make some really good memories!

@PyjamasForever thats fantastic news ☺️

PrayingandHoping · 29/03/2019 14:53

For anyone worried about internal scans there's really no need to be. I've had too
many to count over the last few years (fertility issues and then into ivf). They are completely painless and safe in pregnancy. Honestly, nothing to worry about at all.

cakeordeath89 · 29/03/2019 14:54

@PyjamasForever To be fair, I'm still pretty confused - doesn't take much although given that I work in finance/payroll you'd assume I'd be better with numbers :) I'll just guess that I'm between 6 and 7 and stop being so impatient :)

WombatStewForTea · 29/03/2019 16:12

I'm 5+4 and just started bleeding. What do I do? Do I just wait it out?

PrayingandHoping · 29/03/2019 16:17

@WombatStewForTea firstly don't over panic. You've prob read on this thread many have had bleeds and been fine

Is it brown or red? Mainly the advise had been no need to panic unless enough red to fill a pad. However u can ring an epu but they prob won't want to scan you until 6/7 weeks as there's not much to see early on....

jacquesjacques · 29/03/2019 16:34

@WombatStewForTea here holding your hand. How heavy is it and what colour? Any pain? X

Mintypea5 · 29/03/2019 16:34

@WombatStewForTea trybstay calm lovely. Lots of us have experienced bleeds and it's been ok. Do you have a number for you epu? If you do call them hopefully they can see you in the next day or two. They may or may not scan as it's fairly early so not a huge amount to see. Are you in any pain as well? Xx

JoJoSaysHello · 29/03/2019 16:50

@WombatStewForTea We're thinking of you!

@Leleophants I used Ultrasound Direct at 6 weeks. When they could only see a gestational sac & yolk abdominally they offered to do a dildocam (thanks for that phrase @LittleAndOften haha) or a free rescan at 8 weeks. I took the second option so going back next weekend. Although at 9 weeks you should be fine anyway!

fabaga · 29/03/2019 17:56

Hey everyone! I was wondering how long you all had to wait for your booking appointments? I self referred to my nearest hosp in East London on 19th March and not heard anything from them yet. Called this morning and I’m on the system but “just need to wait to be contacted” Hmm I’m 6+5 at the moment by my calculations so have a bit of time but just a bit worried about not fitting it in before 10 weeks! It’s my first so lots of unknowns and my first contacy with the GP left a lot to be desired (“we can’t fit you in, google what you’re not meant to eat” ... literally that was it)

Aph413 · 29/03/2019 17:58

@fabaga unfortunately I won't be much help in the East Midlands, I rang my surgery and was given my appointment on the phone. I imagine they'll contact you soon

Prequelle · 29/03/2019 18:01

My surgery only allows you to see a midwife when you're 8 weeks +

Made an appointment when I was 7+6, saw them today at 8+6.

It wasn't a booking in appointment though, it was called the 'checking in' one, was given green book to fill my bits in and the maternity exemption form. Given dietary advice, weighed, BP taken, had a urine sample tested too. Quick run over of medical history

My booking in appointment is on the 16th April so I'll be 11+2

Curious to see how it is for everyone else!

Mintypea5 · 29/03/2019 18:09

For us you call up for an appointment between 8-10 weeks. We are advised not to call too early (before 6w) in case of early miscarriage but I called at 6w by LMP and earliest they could see me was 10+4!

Prequelle · 29/03/2019 18:14

Oh minty I missed your post about c-section. Thankyou that made me feel better! I know it's all about what's best for me and baby so I'm fine with it. I guess because I have only ever wanted 1 child I wanted to experience labour but then again I would probably soon regret that once I was in it ha

Babybloom · 29/03/2019 18:17

After my morning worry I've called EPU and I've been through the usual tests, blood, wee and they did an internal scan. All is good and they will see me in 2 weeks again for another scan!

Babybloom · 29/03/2019 18:19

@fabaga I've self referred myself to the hospital near us. They've called me 7 days after and they've just sent the first round of paperwork. First apt isn't until 8 weeks and scan at 12. The other hospital near us only see you at 10 weeks and then scan at 12. It's varies.

WombatStewForTea · 29/03/2019 18:24

Thanks for the hand hold!
It started off brown, then pink, then brown and now a browny pink Blush so not quite sure. It's not got any heavier yet so that's good. Yes had some quite sore pains. I've had cramping all the way through but it had eased off a bit until today

Prequelle · 29/03/2019 18:27

wombat we get sooo many women who experience the exact same thing in early pregnancy and they go on to have lovely healthy babies. Try not to worry too much. If the bleeding increases and/or passing clots and/or pain increases a call to the EPAU might be an idea. Hope you're okay Flowers

Mintypea5 · 29/03/2019 18:33

@WombatStewForTea give your epu a call if it gets any worse or you just feel like you need some reassurance Thanks

Aph413 · 29/03/2019 18:37

I just made the mistake of googling why I don't have morning sickness at 6 weeks and the risk of miscarriage. Why did I do that to myself.

OP posts:
Mintypea5 · 29/03/2019 18:40

@Aph413 step away from google. I've not had any sickness with any of my healthy pregnancies
