@FirstTimeMama91 yes, absolutely! 😊

Babybloom · 29/03/2019 08:34

@Pollypocket5 when did you had your first apt with your midwife or when did you get one assigned? I've had a call with a midwife a couple of days ago following my referral and she said I'll get stuff in the post regarding my first apt and scan.

Cegbee · 29/03/2019 08:41

Had an early scan yesterday at 9+2, dated at 9+3 but my cycles are 27 days so fits. Everything was good, the sonographer was so lovely, I'm so glad I splashed the cash. I feel so much happier now knowing my symptoms aren't all in my head and they're for a reason! Came home and nearly fainted making dinner, had to lie on the floor whilst DH finished it, luckily the cleaner came yesterday!!

Pollypocket5 · 29/03/2019 09:01

@Babybloom I haven't yet, I'm going to chase them today. They said I should be seeing the midwife around 9 weeks. According to my LMP I should be 8 weeks today. My doctors are a bit useless. I did get a scan letter through the post though as soon as I rang my doctors.

Babybloom · 29/03/2019 09:04

@Pollypocket5 yeah same here. I've got an apt in April for filling in paper work etc by then I'll be 10 weeks which is when they said they're doing it. I hope my scan letter will come not long after.

Prequelle · 29/03/2019 09:08

Midwife appointment today

Mintypea5 · 29/03/2019 09:30

@Prequelle yay midwife!

@Babybloom if you've not seen a midwife yet you could always contact your epu they'll have midwives who can chat to you about possible yeast infection / changes in discharge

Babybloom · 29/03/2019 09:42

@Mintypea5 thank you! I've left a message to them, hopefully they'll call me soon.

Lozzlepop · 29/03/2019 10:46

@Cegbee thats good you had a lovely experience it will make all the difference, sounds like you have a good OH, mine is sick at the mo so I will still need to cook and clean when I get home tonight as I am busy all weekend but I feel bad for him as he's really unwell- hoping I don't get it

@Prequelle whoop hope all goes well with the midwife!

@thumper59 how was your scan?

thumper59 · 29/03/2019 10:52

@Lozzlepop it's not until 7:30 tonight so got a long anxious day at work ahead of me 😫😬

Lozzlepop · 29/03/2019 11:05

@thumper59 i'll be thinking of you, I'm sure everything will be perfect

Does anyone doe through phases of feeling "not pregnant" and that its all in your mind? I felt super sick this when I got up this morning but now I feel pretty much normal 🤷🏽‍♀️

cakeordeath89 · 29/03/2019 11:08

I'm so jealous of all of you that can see that you're 8+2 or 6+3. I wish I could work it out but my cycles are pretty long and I can't actually remember the precise start of my LMP. I think it was the 6th Feb and my cycles are anything over 30 days. Can't wait for my dating scan :(

cakeordeath89 · 29/03/2019 11:18

@thumper59 good luck with your scan :)

Leleophants · 29/03/2019 11:20

Ladies can you have an abdominal scan at 9 weeks and could you recommend a place? I don't want an internal scan if possible.

My midwife booking appointment is 10 weeks, which feels so late.

Lozzlepop · 29/03/2019 11:31

@cakeordeath89 I don't know how long my cycle is either, I only had my withdrawal bleed then only one period after coming off the pill before getting my bfp. I know that I ovulated day 16 and AF arrived on day 34 of my first cycle but then I got my bfp on CD28 of my last cycle 🤷🏽‍♀️have you thought about going for a private early scan where they can give you an approximate estimate of dating?

@Leleophants yes you can, just search for private scan facilities near you and that should give you some options. My booking in appointment is in a few weeks so I will be 7+3

Mintypea5 · 29/03/2019 11:35

@Leleophants can't recommend but is aw blob and heartbeat at epu abdominal scan at 6 weeks this week so by 9 week you should do!

Seeing midwife week 8-10 is the norm for most places so although it seems a long wait it's just the system!

@thumper59 good luck for the scan!

@Lozzlepop I have basically zero symptoms beyond tiredness (which I'd be anyway with a 9 month old) if I didn't have a stick with lines and have been for a scan tbh I might not even have realised I am pregnant . I was like this with DS1 too had some spotting which I took to be a light period and didn't think anything of it. Found out I was pregnant at almost 10 weeks

cakeordeath89 · 29/03/2019 11:48

@Lozzlepop I have a private scan on the 6th April. I'm hopeful that it will be clear enough to get an idea. Then my booking in on 15th. I had a cycle as long as 42 days at the end of last year so it's just hard to judge when I actually ovulated.

In terms of not feeling pregnant, had this convo with DH yesterday - it's such a strange concept to have something growing inside and not really feel anything? Having not done a test for over a week now, it's almost like it never happened.

Leleophants · 29/03/2019 12:02

It's funny as only getting really sick now (not great for work!) And seriously sore boobs.

But if I didn't realise the links, I wouldn't know I'm pregnant as feel absolute nothing in the womb area! Yet it must be there.

Cegbee · 29/03/2019 12:10

@Lozzlepop thanks! Yes he is usually pretty good but definitely completely rubbish when ill so you have my sympathies!

@Leleophants yes you can have abdominal scan at 9 weeks, I did yesterday. I went to the birth company but I'm in London so might not suit you.

Lozzlepop · 29/03/2019 12:16

@Mintypea5 I have been feeling more tired but we do have a long daily commute and getting up for a pee between 2-4am hasn't helped as I tend not to be able to drift back off. In a way I would have almost rather I found out later as there is less time to be anxious and worry!

@cakeordeath89 oh thats amazing, not long to wait at all, I will keep my fingers crossed for you ☺️
I know what you mean it is quite surreal, DP keeps asking if I feel different etc, I think it will really start to feel real once we have had a scan so I am desperate to book one in

@Cegbee men are the worst when they are sick, quite glad that I am out and staying with my friend this weekend 😂

cakeordeath89 · 29/03/2019 12:44

@Lozzlepop It's going to be long week but I'm trying to think about other things.

I know we're told to treasure every moment of pregnancy but we're on the "train" now and when/if it stops is not up to us anymore. I don't want to forget about enjoying life pre-baby! I know in my heart there's the chance that it might not all work out but on the other hand, it WILL be life-changing so I have to keep telling myself that instead of worrying for 7/8 months, I need to make the most of spending time with my OH before 2 becomes 3.

PyjamasForever · 29/03/2019 12:57

Had my scan today... saw a heartbeat and was measured at 7+1, which is 4 days ahead of where I thought I was with lmp.

@leleophants they managed to do my scan transabdominally, so at 9 weeks I'm sure they wouldn't have to do a vaginal scan.

cakeordeath89 · 29/03/2019 13:04

@PyjamasForever I'm trying to figure out where I am based on LMP being 6th February-ish. Were you around that?

Good to hear that they can do it transabdominally as hopefully that bodes well for mine on the 6th.

PyjamasForever · 29/03/2019 13:07

@cakeordeath89 My LMP was 11/2 which makes me 6+4 by dates, but I think I ovulated quite early hence actually being 7+1

LittleAndOften · 29/03/2019 13:14

@lelophants I have a tilted womb (apparently) so usually have to have the dildocam. So undignified! Always wear a skirt, just in case Wink
