@thumper59 I feel for you! I am a huge coffee lover and I haven't been able to smell, drink or see coffee in the past 2 weeks! I'm only having water and orange juice sometimes. I had a huge sugar craving the other day too!

thumper59 · 28/03/2019 11:25

@Babybloom it's horrible isn't it 😫 since hitting 8 weeks I've had nausea , all day! Struggling to eat anything at all

Babybloom · 28/03/2019 11:26

@thumper59 oh no!! I'm sending you a lot of energy to get through it! That is yet to come for me but hopefully it won't hit too hard.

thumper59 · 28/03/2019 11:46

@Babybloom Thankyou! Yeah I suppose I'm lucky that I'm not actually being sick as of yet, but I feel it all bloody day and can't stomach anything! Wish I was at home on the sofa haha

Babybloom · 28/03/2019 11:50

@thumper59 awww you will be fine, we just need to ride it out 😊 hopefully it'll be gone soon! Have you got your first midwife and scan apt yet?

Avf88 · 28/03/2019 11:54

I work in a coffee shop and the smell is unbearable at the moment 😂

MindyMoonstone · 28/03/2019 12:24

Hi ladies sorry I’ve been quiet on here. Really enjoying the Facebook group and also trying to stay off munsnet a bit as I was getting a bit obsessive!!
I wonder if you can help as google isn’t helping very much... I’ve got ewcm... very similar to like when I ovulate but less. It’s clear and very stretchy. Is this normal? Anyone else have similar? I have never examined my toilet paper so much in my life so any change is a bit scary 😂 thank you xx

cakeordeath89 · 28/03/2019 12:30

@MindyMoonstone as much as I'm not normally a sharer, that is something I googled recently.... I think it's pretty normal from everything I read, it's just keeping everything down there clear of infection.

MindyMoonstone · 28/03/2019 12:32

@cakeordeath thanks for the quick reply Flowers I was worried it might be a bad sign! I suppose it’s bound to happen with all the hormones flying around though

cakeordeath89 · 28/03/2019 12:39

@Mindystone I honestly completely understand in terms of checking - I'm noticing toilet paper, I'm noticing every little twinge/pain, I'm noticing every little emotional outburst.... I could go on!

I've had really sore pain on my right side pelvis/hip area and can't currently lie on my left side at night because it feels like something is being pulled. I'm hoping it's nothing major because it was something I had been experiencing before I got pregnant. Had been referred for a scan at the hospital but then found out I was pregnant and when I called up to make the appointment the earliest one wasn't until May so I figured that I'd be scanned before then anyway.

Mintypea5 · 28/03/2019 12:43

Sometimes I feel like I spend my whole day checking toilet paper Blush

My food aversion is so much worse this time. Last time it was just chicken and developed a real sweet tooth. At the moment nearly every food I think of seems to make me gag ... toast, boiled rice and carrots and hummus seems to be all my body wants.

How's everyone else dealing with food?

Babybloom · 28/03/2019 12:53

@Mintypea5 I just can't smell or taste coffee because it makes me gag..strange for a coffee lover! Otherwise it's chicken, can't touch it or smell it.

Babybloom · 28/03/2019 12:55

@MindyMoonstone I've asked that from our community midwife and she said it's completely normal. So no worries! 😊 I'm also checking every time I go to the loo 🙈

cakeordeath89 · 28/03/2019 12:55

@Mintypea5 It's really weird, in that I don't actually have much of an appetite but I do feel permanently hungry. I've found that I'm just forcing myself to eat like I normally would.
I do seem to love chips though... french fries in particular. Carbs carbs carbs!

Mintypea5 · 28/03/2019 12:56

@Babybloom coffee Sad I had that with DS1 any coffee suddenly smelt soooo strong and gross to me! Back at work next week with some hard core coffee drinkers so hope it's not like that again facepam

Babybloom · 28/03/2019 12:56

@Avf88 OMG! How can you survive?! I seriously cannot walk past a coffee shop haha

cakeordeath89 · 28/03/2019 13:01

Struggling with smells more than food, finding them really really strong - like strong perfumes and cleaning products. Plus my colleague had a really strong smelling meaty dinner yesterday and it made me feel yuck.

Also, has anybody noticed more of a gag reflex when they brush their teeth?

Babybloom · 28/03/2019 13:06

@Mintypea5 oh really? That's interesting! I never would have thought that's going to be my food aversion as I used to LOVE coffee. I'm back in the office tomorrow too, finally recovering from my cold and my voice is back!! Good luck to you lovely!

JoJoSaysHello · 28/03/2019 13:18

@Mintypea5 I saw a midwife yesterday (not booking appointment, in our area you have a pre-meet so you can get information about screening to consider, have weight & height taken, etc.). I told her my concerns about my rather limited diet. I'm just eating what I can manage (mainly apples and shreddies for some reason!).

The midwife said the main thing is staying hydrated and taking vitamins & the baby will get what it needs from your body. She suggested making smoothies, freezing them and having a spoonful at a time to get some nutrients in. Might give it a try!

JoJoSaysHello · 28/03/2019 13:21

@cakeordeath89 I'm with you on the gag reflex when brushing teeth!! And I have the strangest feeling in my throat from time to time - it's like when you get a paracetamol stuck half way down, but it last for a good few hours and no amount of drinking will budge the feeling. Apparently both "normal" pregnancy symptoms!

Aph413 · 28/03/2019 14:29

I've been busy making myself a tuna pasta bake. Looking forward to it all day, just had a taste and I can't stomach it Sad

Just joined today. Anyone can advise if I shld get worried abt a mild Urinary tract infection? Cant seem to finish 2L of water a day. Just so nauseous.

Iman77 · 28/03/2019 15:08

Im craving burgers, fried chicken and pretty much the unhealthy stuff I used to avoid before pregnancy. Im 41 and my first. Nervous. Due in Oct.

jacquesjacques · 28/03/2019 15:25

Sorry if TMI but I'm having a bit of a panicky day for some reason. Just wondering - has anybody else had very little discharge so far? I'm very dry down there today and I'm sure it's supposed to be fairly abundant at this point isn't it? Am 6+5. Confused

Mintypea5 · 28/03/2019 15:32

@jacquesjacques I've not had much discharge. I wouldn't worry every pregnancy is different. Sometimes you'll get some of the symptoms or things they tell you about in those emails / updates and others you won't.

@JoJoSaysHello that's a good idea! I'm back to work next week from maternity so may start taking a smoothie with me to Lee me going

@Aph413 I've had similar! Spend ages making a dinner I was craving took one bite and had to bin it

@Iman77 welcome! Congratulations
