@Pollypocket5 I'm always really anxious during this stage o get zero symptoms, I've had 3 miscarriages and last pregnancy bleed all the time so my nerves were shot! We had a scan yesterday saw heartbeat but dated back a week. I know that at this stage it's so easy for the dates to be fizzy because they're measuring something so tiny and each pregnancy is different (the sonigrapher and midwife both said it was a great scan and my dates will prob catch up again) but the reassurance doesn't last long.

I've promised my DH I'll take it a day at a time and remind myself every time I start getting anxious that we've had a good scan and have no reason to think anything wrong so to stay positive. I also find keeping busy helps.

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 11:57

@cakeordeath89 I know it's crazy isn't it. Wishing for morning sickness. My boobs hurt but there are some days where the pain doesn't feel as much.

@Mintypea5 Thankyou so much for the reassurance and i bet your anxiety is through the roof. Congratulations on your scan! Just went to be at my 12 week scan and see a proper baby!

Does anyone else feel like time is going incredibly slow?

cakeordeath89 · 27/03/2019 12:00

@Pollypocket5 I've never known time go so slowly!
It feels like Christmas Eve permanently. I have an early scan booked for April 6th but I estimate I'll only be between 7 and 8 weeks then (irregular cycle, not entirely sure on how far along I am).
Then I've got my booking in appointment at the hospital on the 15th. It feels forever away and work being quieter at the moment is not helping as the days are dragging.

Sleepyquest · 27/03/2019 12:01

@Pollypocket5 time is dragging so much!!! I reminded DH that we got our BFP 3 weeks ago and he said 'is that all it's been?'. Another 5 weeks to go until the all important scan! Confused

cakeordeath89 · 27/03/2019 12:05

I remember thinking that getting the BFP was the big hurdle and that time dragged until I could realistically take one to see. Little did I know that it was just the start of clock/date watching!
I almost wish I'd waited to take it just so I'd be a bit further along... but who am I kidding, there was no way I was waiting!

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 12:06

@cakeordeath89 I am still waiting for my booking in appointment. They said the midwife will call me around 9 weeks but I may have to chase them!

@Sleepyquest seems like a lifetime doesn't it? I wished I had waited till I was a bit longer but I just needed to make sure everything was there.

Mintypea5 · 27/03/2019 12:17

Time moves so slowly for the whole of pregnancyGrin you get to one milestone just to find you're waiting for the next facepalm I'm hoping that because this one doesn't cross between two calendar years it will seem like it goes faster?! March-November seems less time than October -June

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 12:25

I like your logic @Mintypea5. A couple of months ago i couldn't wait for summer. Now all I want is for winter to be here!!

cakeordeath89 · 27/03/2019 12:31

@Mintypea5 That's brilliant logic, I'm definitely holding on to that.

I'm trying to take each day at a time, BUT I am also thinking about the next two months. April is the private scan/appointment month but it's my 30th birthday in May and all being well, I should be around the 12/13 weeks mark by then, so it will be all about the big official scan and being able to tell people. Once I get to the end of May, that will feel like a big achievement - that's only two months which I think is manageable in my head!

Littleseed · 27/03/2019 12:50

@Mintypea5 I like that idea too, and you're right, mentally it does seem shorter.
Aww, so they put you a week back for now then. So what does that "make" you according to their estimation?

@cakeordeath89 I'm exactly the same! I thought the BFP was the thing but little did I know what an emotional roller coaster this would be!

@Mintypea5 when you had those bleeds, what were their explanations to you?
My MW is off this entire week, and she couldn't have chosen a worse time to take off. Sad
I've been bleeding again. Sad Because MW is on holiday, all I caan do is ring the other numbers listed on the leaflet that she gave me at the Booking in appointment- all of them say to go to A&E but I know that'll take the entire day and can't face a rowdy busy waiting area for hours right now. So I'm sat at home instead. It's fresh red blood and I've been having cramping and lower back pain too- similar to period ones like at the start of pregnancy basically. I've got a hot water bottle and I'm resting my back against it and emotions are ranging from sadness, worry and anxiousness. It feels really lonely sometimes. Like almost like there's no support.
I think they should assign you your own temp MW when your own goes on holiday.

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 13:02

@Littleseed so bad that they don't allocate a temp midwife when they are on holiday. Thinking of you, got my fingers crossed tightly.
Keep us updated.

Littleseed · 27/03/2019 13:10

Thank you daring @Pollypocket5. Flowers It's such a fragile journey, isn't it? I agree, it is really bad and you can feel so alone when you don't have your own point of contact at times like this. Sad

I would definitely say for you to call your GP lovely, and ask them when your MW will be calling you and what days she comes in to the surgery. I was told ours comes in on the Friday and reception told me to call on the Friday and ask reception to ask when she'd be calling me, but I was glad the MW beat me to it and called me, but because you haven't had a call yet, you can always ask to make sure they haven't forgotten about you. It's always good to get reassurance.

peaky297 · 27/03/2019 13:27

Can I have have your thoughts please ladies... Im 5 weeks and in the middle of the night last night I was woken up with this sharp stabbing sensation on my lower left side (lower abdomen). It was really painful to the point that I had to sit up until it was gone and had to check for bleeding after! It lasted around 5 mins, there was no bleeding and there's been nothing since. It really frightened me at the time... has anyone experienced anything similar? It's probably nothing but I cant help but worry!

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 13:31

@Littleseed it really is! I think I found that no one really wants to know when you're this early and you're just left to it.

Yes I might just do that as knowing my doctors they have forgotten.

Mintypea5 · 27/03/2019 14:05

@Littleseed can you google your epu number? If you're bleeding they should see you.

No explanation for my bleeds pre 14 weeks just one of those things they said. My 14 week ones they said was due to placenta particularly covering my cervix but they don't usually diagnose that until 20 weeks scan as it's likely to move up by then. Mine did but I still bleed regular until I was induced at 38 weeks!

As for the scan they dated me roughly 6+3. By LMP I was 7 weeks so it matches up! I've no idea how long my cycle is really and when i ovulate. They did say my dates my catch up like last time

JoJoSaysHello · 27/03/2019 14:30

@peaky297 I've had similar although not at night. I've had cramps on my left hand side only since before my positive test. I've had two occasions where the pain has been a stabbing like pain that's taken my breath away it's been so bad. Lasted a couple of minutes each time. Early scan confirmed my pregnancy isn't ectopic (which was my worry) and I haven't had any bleeding.

You could always get it checked out to put your mind at rest!

Ravenscar · 27/03/2019 14:48

Hello!! Please can I jump onboard? Had my BFP on Monday and I’m 5+6 today. This is baby number three for me but my other two boys are 10&9 so I have a feeling it’s going to feel like having my first all over again!!

PyjamasForever · 27/03/2019 14:48

@littleseed if you don't have an EPU number maybe try through hospital switchboard?

I had a fairly dramatic and stressful car accident this morning. Thankfully my toddler isn't hurt. Now I'm having a little bit of bleeding when I wipe. I haven't had my booking appointment yet, so just called EPU directly and they've made me an appointment for a scan on Friday. Crossing everything that things will be okay. It's been a truly rubbish day. Person who crashed into my drove off without details and I was too busy trying to get my trapped toddler out of the car to get their number plate. Now I'm going to have to pay the excess and take a huge hike in my insurance payments.

Mintypea5 · 27/03/2019 15:01

@Ravenscar welcome! My eldest was 6 when his brother was born... defo felt like starting again

@PyjamasForever how terrifying! Glad you and your little one are ok. Glad the EPU can see you this week. Keeping everything crossed all is ok for you

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 15:10

@PyjamasForever how terrifying Sad Glad you are both ok! Fingers crossed for your scan.

Babybloom · 27/03/2019 17:35

Hi ladies! I'm due 17th November Smile I've heard there is an FB group which I may want to join once we've shared the good news with family and close friends. Could one of you please send me the link?
I'm feeling so exhausted all the time and have an elevated pulse which means I get out of breath all the time Grin otherwise my boobs are swollen and sore (nice free temp boob job as I'm lacking in that area). I'm so excited but nervous too!

Babybloom · 27/03/2019 17:37

@FirstTimeMama91 same here albeit with the right one! It's been bigger and more sore from the beginning. The pain is coming and going, sometimes I get worried if they don't ache as much as other days but I guess it's normal for symptoms to come and go.

Babybloom · 27/03/2019 17:39

@JoJoSaysHello I've had the same "worry" with not feeling nauseous or having weird cravings. It's normal not to have any symptoms at all or to have them all! I guess when we physically feel different that makes us feel pregnant but we should be grateful for not feeling horrible I suppose! Smile

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 17:47

@Babybloom Welcome and congrats! I'm due November 18th ☺️
Have you booked an early scan or anything yet?

Babybloom · 27/03/2019 17:55

@Pollypocket5 thank you very much!
It's my first pregnancy. I've had an early scan yesterday but they could only see the sac and I was told that I'm probably a little earlier than I thought. Which would make sense as I usually ovulate 2 weeks after period and my periods were a little all over in the past months. I'm going back for another scan in a couple weeks. I should be 7+ weeks by then. It made me worried but I'll remain positive! Smile how far along are you? Have you had an early scan?
