@FirstTimeMama91 mine is also very excited, which I'm glad about but I also need a bit of space. My own mother is calmer than my MIL

And the insomnia is back again.. 😒

@FirstTimeMama91 Definitely not the moment for MIL to get involved in, as excited as she may be :)

@Smiffette I agree with @LittleAndOften. It's easy enough the concept of not gaining weight until you're actually faced with trying to eat healthily as a pregnant woman. I had great plans of being a very healthy eater and now I'm pregnant all I want is carbs. I've actually lost a few pounds, I think due to the nausea robbing my appetite, but I look like I've gained about a stone 😂

Sessy19 · 27/03/2019 03:16

@TrashKitten10....also been wide awake all night. Is this a thing? Hoe bloody infuriating! When you KNOW that sleep is the best remedy to growing a human...!!

And now, because I’m properly awake, the nausea is starting to kick in.

TrashKitten10 · 27/03/2019 03:44

@Sessy19 It's certainly been a thing for a few of us on here, in fact insomnia was my first symptom before I even got my BFP. I've just gone downstairs as quietly as possible to have some toast as I was feeling hungry and nauseous in bed. Unfortunately the cat has heard me and is shouting blue murder from her bedroom to be let out. Grrr, everything you read about good diet and sleep and yet your body just wants to feed off junk food and stay awake all night 😩

JoJoSaysHello · 27/03/2019 06:17

@Aph413 Why does it matter to her where you go Hmm Sounds lovely planning it for a weekend away though!!

@TrashKitten10 I'm the same - I had visions of actually getting 5 portions of fruit & veg a day for once in my life... Balanced meals... No takeaways... Not quite how it has turned out Confused But eating something is better than nothing & I keep taking my supplement so that must count for something!

OhMarnie · 27/03/2019 06:33

@TrashKitten10 @Sessy19 I feel your pain on the insomnia ladies. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling so sick and had to get up and get something to eat. Then couldn't sleep again for ages. Think I need a biscuit stash under the bed for times like that!

Mintypea5 · 27/03/2019 07:05

I found eating settled back down during the 2nd trimester! First is always a nightmare. I've gone off all meat just thinking about it makes me feel ill. Even veg I usually adore the smell of it cooking Envy

Feeling exhausted today. Combination of pregnancy insomnia m, this bloody cough /virus I just can't shift and being up at 3 am with my 9 month.

Waitingformyrainbow · 27/03/2019 08:13

Morning ladies, has anyone's nausea eased around the 8 week mark?

I had a scan last week everything was perfect but last couple of days, the nausea has eased so much! I'm starting to worry a little! Xx

Mintypea5 · 27/03/2019 08:26

@Waitingformyrainbow I don't get sickness but my best friend gets it really bad. In both her pregnancies she had a small break around 8/9 weeks and then it came back in full force so o think it can be normal

Waitingformyrainbow · 27/03/2019 08:54

@Mintypea5 thank you, oh it's such a worrying time xx

Prequelle · 27/03/2019 08:56

Had to ring in sick to work today and feel terrible about it :( there's never the staff to replace a person off sick. But I've been vomiting and have had no sleep

cakeordeath89 · 27/03/2019 09:05

Apologies, I've been a bit awol. Have come down with horrible cold - throat felt like glass yesterday and today it's been swapped for sandpaper and a ping pong ball. Struggling to notice any symptoms as I can't work out what's cold and what's pregnancy... what I can say is I'm knackered. Went to bed at 8.30 last night and pretty much slept through until my 6.30 alarm.

Welcome to all the new joiners and sending hugs to all those suffering with their symptoms, and all to those worrying about lack of symptoms - I feel your pain.

Sessy19 · 27/03/2019 09:12

@Prequelle, I’ve done exactly the same today! So tired and being sick from about 2am. Eurgh.
I don’t have a critical role at work (well, I don’t think I do! 😂) and I have given them 15yrs of putting work first over EVERYTHING (including starting a family), so I don’t feel in the slightest bit bad!
But you have GOT to look after yourself, that’s just so important xx

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 09:19

@peaky297 I am feeling exactly the same. Apart from sore boobs and tired in the evenings nothing else. I worry so much! I had an early scan and they found a baby with a heartbeat.

Just want to get to 12 weeks so maybe I can relax a little.
I am sure everything is fine with you too. How far along are you?

Sleepyquest · 27/03/2019 09:21

@Sessy19 @Prequelle I have done the same too! Think my boss is a bit annoyed but I just need to be near a toilet, my own toilet!!!

Prequelle · 27/03/2019 09:25

Three cheers to the Sickies today Grin

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 27/03/2019 09:42

Oh no! I’m so sorry you have all had to call in sick. You are doing the right thing though. It is SUCH a difficult time. I’m really struggling with nausea, exhaustion and insomnia Sad. It’s making me really emotional. I hope you all start to feel a little better soon!x

Mintypea5 · 27/03/2019 09:47

Sympathies for anyone who's feeling mega sick and home today. Remember if your work know you're pregnant already they can't count it against your sick record as it's pregnancy related.

thumper59 · 27/03/2019 10:03

I'm desperate for a sick day. I work for my dad so if I call in sick questions will be asked, I'm telling them on Sunday anyway so not long to go now but god I feel and look terrible! Nausea, all. Damn. Day. Food and smell aversions are at an ultimate high and I'm just so bloody tired!! Can't wait for the pregnancy glow everyone talks about, it feels a far cry from where I am now 😂

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 10:40

Ladies any coping tips on how to feel less anxious? I thought the early scan would help but seeing as they put me 10 days behind what I thought I was it's made me worry more!

Just feel like I'm paranoid about everything and seeing as I don't have morning sickness!

How can I relax and actually enjoy my pregnancy?

cakeordeath89 · 27/03/2019 11:08

@Pollypocket5 Sorry to hear you're feeling anxious. I feel exactly the same and have found the only way to relax is to distract myself. Keep busy with work or hobbies, find something that really keeps your attention.
As frustrating as it is, we all have to accept that as long as we're eating right, avoiding the no-no's (smoking, drugs, alcohol) and taking our pre-natal vitamins, we are doing all we can to make sure we have a healthy pregnancy and that whatever happens, happens.

Do remember that not everybody has morning sickness, symptoms vary and can come and go too. It's easy to hear people talking about their nausea, sore boobs and cravings and think why haven't I got those but then you've probably got different symptoms that they don't have.

Pollypocket5 · 27/03/2019 11:20

@cakeordeath89 Thankyou so much! I think I just need to keep myself occupied. I guess it won't get any easier when there here either.

cakeordeath89 · 27/03/2019 11:35

It's hard isn't it because who wants nausea and extreme tiredness really - any other time and we'd think what on earth is wrong with us... but it's exactly what we want to be experiencing.
Quite a few people on here have mentioned sore boobs but apart from the first week after I'd found out mine haven't really been sore - I've been hoping that it's because I'm pretty small anyway, so less of them to feel sore!

LKH27 · 27/03/2019 11:36

Due November, and still feeling crap! Want this nausea and smell aversion to EVERYTHING to go away!

L0ULEW · 27/03/2019 11:49
