Private early scan gave me lots of reassurance. No need to worry- I'm just like it naturally.
I had it at 8+4 and saw baby and heartbeat, although I must admit I'm 11 weeks today and felt great yesterday and today so the worry is starting to loom that at the 12 week scan she's going to say it isn't there..... was/are others like this? Or am I really worrying terribly?

This was our scan at 8+4.

@thumper59 completely normal! I had scan around that time too and even from there it felt like a lifetime till 12 weeks! when is your scan?? X

thumper59 · 15/04/2019 21:50

@Delilah7 oh I am glad it's not just me! Next Thursday. I can't wait x

PinkFizz19 · 15/04/2019 22:26

@Delilah7 @EltzBee @TrashKitten10 Thanks ladies. Ended up back at the out of hours ward of the hospital tonight. Red bleeding started this afternoon and got progressively worse like a period. They've checked my cervix and it's still closed so we have some hope. They've taken bloods and will ring me tomorrow. Told me to keep my scan for next Tuesday and might just need to repeat bloods in 48hours to check if the hcg levels are rising or falling. Trying not to worry whilst we still have some hope 💛 just said to go straight back if it worsens.

Taking it easy for a couple of days. Work can wait. It's going to be a duvet/couch day tomorrow with Netflix.

Lots of love to everyone on this one of a kind journey xxx

@PinkFizz19 thinking of you and have my fingers tightly crossed xx

ChaosMoon · 16/04/2019 05:28

I have everything crossed for you @PinkFizz19. Glad you're taking some time for you today. Xx

TrashKitten10 · 16/04/2019 05:57

@PinkFizz19 Thinking of you. A few sofa days sounds perfect, rest up and relax as much as you can. Hoping it's good news for you.

@EltzBee That's gorgeous! Such a lovely bright pattern in a sea of grey, navy and black prams. How funny your colleague ended up with the same model out of all the different options. Oh I'm pleased you started looking at them quite early, I feel justified in starting to browse a bit more if the scan next week goes well ☺️ Yes the prices are crazy! I'm dropping prices of things into conversation with DH so he's not too shocked when we go shopping Grin Is that your first big purchase?

@thumper59 I feel one step behind you during this pregnancy! I had my early scan the day after you, they gave me an EDD the day after you and I've just now seen that my 12 week scan is the day after you. Also really nervous despite everything looking good at 8 weeks. It's a crazy amount of worry this pregnancy business :)

Delilah7 · 16/04/2019 06:13

@thumper59 look forward to hearing about it xx

@PinkFizz19 thinking of you darling. You're doing everything right and how I would so well done. Please do let us know xxxx

stormtrooperjulian · 16/04/2019 09:19

@thumper59 totally normal! I also felt much better at around 11 weeks.

@PinkFizz19 thinking of you, good idea to have a relaxing sofa day

I’m slightly worried by how much my boobs have grown already. I was a DD cup before getting pregnant, I’m 17 weeks now and I’ve gone up 4 cup sizes already. Someone tell me they’ll stop growing soon?!?!

EltzBee · 16/04/2019 09:48

@TrashKitten10 thanks, we really liked it, it was nice and light and so easy to fold and adjust which were key (as well as not costing the earth!). Definitely go and look a few times, read reviews but also form your own gut feelings on what you like and don't :)

@thumper59 waiting for the 12 week scan is really scary, definitely normal. I think regardless wether it's your first scan or you had an early one it's still nerve wracking as it's such a delicate time in the first 3 months!

@PinkFizz19 sorry to hear things have got worse, keeping fingers crossed for you. Put your feet up and look after yourself xx

@TrashKitten10 aw that's amazing that we are close! Can share the worry and joys together!

@Delilah7 @stormtrooperjulian @EltzBee Thankyou for the reassurance, yeah it's defo worrying! I've had nothing to worry about (discharge/blood etc) but it doesn't make me worry any less! Can't wait to see bubba again!

Delilah7 · 16/04/2019 10:41

@stormtrooperjulian I'm a G normally and I can so tell I've grown 😂😂😂😂

@thumper59 you'll be fine for a few weeks after and then you'll remember OMG I've got my 20 week scan soon and shit yourself all over again 😂

EltzBee · 16/04/2019 11:51

@Delilah7 @thumper59 having a private 16 week scan definitely helped with the worry about the 20 week one, would recommend that :) we found out the gender at ours as well. I think I would have been much more terrified about the 20 week one without it!

Bean is starting to get more active now which is good, had some nice kicks this morning sat at my desk in the office. Really looking forward to them getting even more obvious and for DH to feel them more (he's only felt them once so far).

We're off on holiday this weekend, and so looking forrward to a week away. Although when we get back I think it is really going to feel like baby isn't that far away!

Has anyone any ideas on how many types of baby clothing to get, like how many baby-grow and sleep suits and vests and when they wear each thing?! I'm probably being really thick but it's all new to me! Do they only wear sleep suits at night time? Or do they wear something else underneath them!

OP posts:
thumper59 · 16/04/2019 12:05

@Delilah7 I'm just prepared for a life time of shitting myself now. Mentally and possibly literally 🙄😂

@EltzBee Thankyou. Yeah I was thinking of doing one in between that's not a bad idea, aw that's amazing your feeling kicks! I can't wait for that 😊

Delilah7 · 16/04/2019 12:13

@EltzBee I didn't want one as I had two early ones from having a miscarriage before. I wanted to be patient 😂😂

I've got quite a few vest bodysuits, short sleeved, long sleeved bodysuits too. Aswell as sleepsuits. However we have a lot of hand me downs so haven't had to buy too much! I've always bought them in different sizes so like tiny baby, newborn and then 0/3 months or whatever.

@thumper59 wish I could do that, constipation has hit 😂😂😂

EltzBee · 16/04/2019 13:03

@Delilah7 ah yes, the constipation is not fun!

That's nice you've had lots of hand-me-downs. We've not got anyone to hand anything down to us so I'm struggling to work out what to buy (without spending a fortune..). Size wise as well I'm thinking of getting 0-3 rather than newborn in case they're bigger? I guess we can always go and buy smaller things if we need them!

OP posts:
Delilah7 · 16/04/2019 13:07

@EltzBee that's why I got bigger too. I'd say if you had a few of each that would be safe. Just get plain boring cheap ones in those sizes x

PinkFizz19 · 16/04/2019 13:32

@thumper59 @ChaosMoon @TrashKitten10 @Delilah7 @stormtrooperjulian @EltzBee Thanks so much ladies 😘 my bloods have come back at 1481. Need to go back tomorrow night for more so we'll know Thursday if it's rising or falling. I'm trying to be positive but also trying to be realistic for my sanity. I'll be more surprised if it has risen then if it's dropped. I'm not having any symptoms (never really had alot to begin with) and my resting heart rate has significantly dropped on my fitbit stats. Just have to sit it out 😕 suppose at least we know we can get pregnant so if it's good news we can try again 💛 xxx

EltzBee · 16/04/2019 14:26

@PinkFizz19 I'm glad they're checking things for you, sending hugs. Let us know how you get on tomorrow/Thursday.

@Delilah7 that's a good idea. We just popped over to Primark at lunch time (there's one a short walk from the office) but I was surprised how small a selection they had of 'plain, boring' stuff!

From what I can tell online, newborn or first-size is up to 9lbs so think you're right and only need a few in that size anyway as they would otu grow them quite quick?!

Been looking at cots and wardrobes for the nursery, some seem such crazy money. I think we need a magic money tree lol.

OP posts:
Delilah7 · 16/04/2019 14:28

@EltzBee yeah go for them two sizes. I did go bigger aswell but they will fit in them one day 😂😂
Cots are so expensive! We have ours from Mamas and Papas

stormtrooperjulian · 16/04/2019 14:47

I’m guessing we won’t get any hand-me-downs so I’ll have to buy everything at some point.

I think I will have a small baby - I was 4lb8 at birth (full term and healthy), my sister was 5lbs and DH was 5lb6 so I assume my baby will be small too... I’d be very surprised if I got a 9lb baby! So I guess I’ll need smaller baby grows etc for longer than a lot of people usually would.

EltzBee · 16/04/2019 14:49

@Delilah7 yeah we have 3 sleep suits from Next in 3 to 6 months, I had a voucher to use up before it expired so got them, but they should be good for the Autumn/Winter anyway at least!

We saw a lovely one in Mothercare that is a cot bed, I'm thinking it's probably better to get one from somewhere like Mother Care/Mama and Papa/John Lewis for quality and to make sure it lasts? Some of the cheaper ones in Ikea felt so flimsy I'm not sure they'd cope with a baby/toddler when they get bigger and start standing up and doing all the things little rascals do!

We ordered a Tommee Tippee machine yesterday too, DH wanted the night and day one as it has a night light on it and a digital screen for being a bit easier to use when half asleep and bleary eyed, and it had £40 off so thought we'd get that whilst we saw it on offer! We have a starter pack of MAM bottles and we also have a couple Tommee Tippee bottles, so we have enough to get us through the first couple days and then we can get more once we know what baby 'likes'. Eek!
